Gone To The Dogs - Daisy

Hello everyone,

Today's card is of Daisy.

The printed paper is DCWV The Pet's Stack.  The image is layered on Stampin' Up Whisper White and My Mind's Eye.  The sentiment is Stampabilities Happy Birthday 10 stamped in Marina Mist.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Mocha Opaques.

Daisy is a lovely and energetic dogs.  She has a great personalities and just loves running around with the other dogs.  She is a really beauty when she gets going.  I love seeing her run so this photo was a bit of a no brainer.  Daisy's card and the next three are the more difficult cards in this series.  The photos had to be rather small to have the quality needed for a card.  It takes a fair bit of jigging and layering to make them work.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gone To The Dogs - Alicia

Hello everyone,

Today's post is Alicia's card.

The background paper is DCWV The Pet's Stack.  The images are layered on Stampin' Up Very Vanilla.  The sentiment is Gina K Garden Silhouettes stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla.  The embellishments are of unknown origin.

This card is all about the photos.  I couldn't choose just one of this beautiful Irish Setter.  Though the patterned paper is from the same DCWV pad that I've been using, it is not particularly 'dog'.  I used though because this orange plaid really worked with Alicia's colouring.  Alicia is another sweetheart and is sister to Peaches.  What a lucky family to have such lovely dogs in their family.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gone To The Dogs - Peaches

Hello everyone,

I think today's post is one of my favourites in this entire dog series.  It is of Peaches.

The printed paper is DCWV The Pet's Stack layered on Stampin' Up Early Espresso and Certainly Celery.  The image is layered on Whisper White.  The sentiment, Kaisercraft Occasions is stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White.

Peaches is a real sweetheart.  I absolutely love this photo which just shows off that beautiful face.  This photo works wonderfully with this particular sheet of paper, having just enough pink to make Peaches really stand out.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gone To The Dogs - Ajax

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting Ajax's card.

The printed paper, DCWV The Pet's Stack, is layered on Stampin' Up Certainly Celery.  The image is layered on Sahara Sand and Certainly Celery.  The sentiment, Gina K Follow Your Dreams, is stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White and layered on Certainly Celery.  The embellishments are Celery Oregon Raindrops.

Ajax is a lovely dog and I thought this picture really shows his great personality.  I think I may have over done the embellishments but I wanted to balance the sentiment element with the image.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gone To The Dogs - Bailey

Hello everyone,

Today's card is of the beautiful Husky, Bailey.

The printed paper is DCWV The Pet's Stack layered on Stampin' Up Early Espresso.  The image is also layered on Early Espresso.  The sentiment is Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and layered on Early Espresso.  The embellishments are Sea Blue Oregon Raindrops.

I love this card.  These little bones are so cute.  I chose the embellishments to match Bailey's beautiful blue eyes.  I love the brown and blue together.  It took me nearly a dozen photos to get one of Bailey that worked.  I ended up cropping this one to just show her face.  Dogs and kids are so hard to photograph.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gone To The Dogs - Brady

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting Brady's card.

The printed paper is DCWV The Pet's Stack layered on Stampin' Up Baja Breeze.  The image is layered on Very Vanilla and Early Espresso.  The sentiment, Stampin' Up Teeny Tiny Wishes, is stamped in Baja Breeze on Very Vanilla.

Brady is a young dog who is full of energy and loves to kiss other dogs!  He is always on the move and this photo was incredibly difficult to get.  This is actually a cropped picture of Brady and a puppy known as Flash (his card is coming) who were playing in a sand pit at the dog park.  It was hilarious to see these two play.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gone To The Dogs - Duke

Hello everyone,

I'm still going strong with the dog park cards.  Today is the handsome Duke.

The printed paper is DCWV The Pet's Stack layered on Stampin' Up Baja Breeze.  The image is layered on Very Vanilla.  The sentiment, Stampin' Up Warmest Regards, stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla.  The entire card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

Duke is a lovely little dog.  When taking these photos at the dog park the other morning, he sat so readily and just waited until I was done.  You couldn't ask for more.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gone To The Dogs - Scarlet

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a card of Scarlet who is an Australian Sheep Dog.  She is a really lovely dog and is so beautiful when she's running at full speed.  I could watch her run forever.

The printed paper is DCWV The Pet's Stack layered on Stampin' Up Blushing Bride.  The image is layered on Very Vanilla and more Blushing Bride.  The sentiment is Verve, stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and layered on Blushing Bride.  The embellishments are Stampin' Up Basic Jewels.

I believe this is actually a puppy picture of Scarlet.  She is much more light brown about her face and ears now.  She always has a really intelligent and perky look about her that is absolutely adorable.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gone To The Dogs - Nat and Monty

Hi everyone,

If you were by looking for a post yesterday, I apologize.  I'm on vacation and just didn't get to it yesterday.  I'm still working on the dog card series and I have to say, I'm loving these cards and can't wait to make them for the whole gang!

The printed paper is DCWV The Pet's Stack layered on Stampin' Up Dusty Durango.  The image is also layered on Dusty Durango.  The sentiment is Stampendous Retro Happy Birthday stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and layered on Dusty Durango.

These are two absolutely lovely dogs.  They are brothers.  I love when Monty (in the fore ground) comes up beside me as we're walking because I don't even need to bend over to pet him.  Margaret, their owner, is a lovely woman and was especially quick to welcome Juno and I into the gang.  I'm forever grateful for the wonderful welcome.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gone To The Dogs - Indy

Hello everyone,

I've recently made a bunch of new friends by taking my dog to a nearby dog park.  They are a great bunch, walking their pooches every morning at 7:00 am.  My Juno, pictured earlier, makes wonderful cards so I thought I do the same if I could get my hands on some of the dogs photos.  Three so far with hopefully more to come.

The printed paper is DCWV The Pet's Stack layered on Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip.  The photo is layered on Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Say It All stamped in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla.  The brads are of unknown origin.

I love all the dog cards cards I've made so far and am itching to get some more photos.  This is Indy and I love how he greets me by pushing against my legs looking for a good scratch.  I've tried to tailor the cards to suit not only the dogs but also the owners.  Tom is a no muss no fuss kind of guy so this minimalist masculine cards suits him perfectly.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

No Peeking Papa!

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting my father's birthday card.  No joke but his birthday is the day after my mother's.  Thus making his birthday card post follow the post of my mother's birthday card.  Absolutely logical.

The printed paper is Cloud 9 Design Luster Evergreens layered on Stampin' Up Sahara Sand.  The photograph, one of my own, is layered on more Cloud 9 Design Luster Evergreens.  The image, Stampin' Up Lovely As A Tree, is stamped in StazOn Timber Brown on Very Vanilla and coloured with pastels.  The sentiment, Hero Arts Happy Birthday is also stamped in Timber Brown on Very Vanilla.

I love this card.  I actually made this card before my Mom's card but as I was so happy with these results, I just had to do another.  My father has always had an affinity for the outdoors so I always try to have some natural element on his cards.  He also loves critters so being able to include a photo with our 'Juno' will give him a kick.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

No Peeking Granny!

Hello everyone,

My family has always ribbed me about my organization and planning habits.  I do everything well in advance.  These next two cards prove that these habits are alive and well.  I'm currently visiting my family in Southern Ontario and I brought along my parents birthday gift and their cards which are in November.  Don't look Mom, this is a card you're not suppose to see until your birthday.

The background paper is Jillibean Soup Chilled Strawberry Soup.  The image, one of my own photographs, is layered on Stampin' Up Old Olive.  The sentiment, Denami Design Upright Happy Birthday is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla.  The brads are of unknown origin.

I love this card and I know my Mom will love it too.  This paper was bought especially for her because she has always loved strawberry-themed anything.  These big beautiful berries were just too appealing to pass by.  The photo will be especially appreciated because it is of her grand-daughter.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Boy Wonder IX & X

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting the last two cards in the boy one sheet wonder series I've been working on for the Fall card sale at the office.  Both this series and the girl series were a ton of fun to craft.  Really quick and easy cards.

The printed paper is BoBunny On The Go layered on Stampin' Up Wild Wasabi and More Mustard.  The sentiment is Toga which is stamped in Pacific Point.  The sticker is TPC Studio Transportation Chipboard.

The printed paper is BoBunny On The Go layered on Stampin' Up More Mustard and Pacific Point.  The sentiment is Stampendous stamped in Pacific Point on Whisper White.

Another two great cards to finish up this latest series.  Both cards use on scrap pieces from the leftover bin and came together as easily as the previous cards.  It is so much fun to find an awesome piece of paper that turns into some really wonderful cards.

I hope you enjoy these cards and these latest one sheet wonders and come back to SPI again soon.

Boy Wonder V & VI

Hello everyone,

Two more super simple boy one sheet wonder cards for you today.

The printed paper is BoBunny On The Go.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Small Greetings.  The sticker is TPC Studio Transportation Chipboard.

The printed paper is BoBunny On The Go.  The solid papers are Stampin' Up More Mustard, Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi.  The sentiment is Toga, stamped in Pacific Point on Whisper White and layered on Basic Black.

Both these cards were ridiculously simple.  An easy layout with a simple sticker and sentiment.  A few scraps from the bin in a simple graphic layout.  Couldn't be easier and more perfect for a couple of boy kid cards, though you could give them to a big kid too if inclined.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Boy Wonder III & IV

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting cards three and four in my latest one sheet wonder series.

The printed paper is BoBunny On The Go layered on Stampin' Up Pacific Point, More Mustard and Basic Black.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Sassy Salutations stamped in Pacific Point on Whisper White.  The embellishments are of unknown origin.

The printed paper is BoBunny On The Go layered on Stampin' Up Wild Wasabi.  The sentiment is Toga stamped in Pacific Point on Whisper White.

It seemed unusual to use black card stock on a kids card but it just seemed to work with the black wheels and highlights of the printed paper.  I also just had to use a sentiment from this set which is so very fun and perfect for a kid!  It can be tough to craft a card with such a tiny piece of printed paper but once I pulled this scrap of Wild Wasabi out of the bin, it just came together.  I wasn't crazy about it at first blush but in the light of day, it works great!

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Boy Wonder I & II

Hello everyone,

Today I'm starting to post the boy one sheet wonder cards that I crafted for the charity card sale at work this fall.  Like the girly girl series, I went through my stash to find a great piece of paper and this is just perfect for a little boy.

The printed paper is BoBunny On The Go layered on Stampin' Up More Mustard and Pacific Point.  The sentiment is Sweet 'n Sassy Birthday Greetings stamped in Pacific Point on Whisper White.

The printed paper is BoBunny On The Go layered on Stampin' Up More Mustard.  The sentiment is Toga stamped in Pacific Point on Whisper White.  The embellishments is Sassafras Zoom Zoom Felties.

Once I selected the paper and got the layout cut, it didn't take any time to pull these cards together.  I didn't dwell on layout or embellishments.  With boy/male cards it always seems best to keep it simple.  It's fun to just let the mojo flow.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Girly Girl IX & X

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting the last two cards in the girly one sheet wonder series for the Fall charity card sale at work.  It's been a wonderful series.  Next up, the little boy series.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on Stampin' Up Gable Green.  The sentiment is Serendipity stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White and layered on textured Melon Mambo.  The embellishments are Doodlebug Spring Assortment mini pearls.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on Stampin' Up Melon Mambo and Gable Green.  The sentiment is TOGA which is stamped in Melon Mambo.  The embellishments are Autumn Leaves adhesive rhinestones.

Like some of the earlier cards in this series, these cards use simple layouts, scrap paper and minimal embellishments to crafts very lovely cards.  Just what one sheet wonder cards ought to be.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Girly Girl VII & VIII

Hello everyone,

I've cards seven and eight in this latest one sheet wonder card series.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on textured Stampin' Up Melon Mambo.  The sentiment is Stamp Barn.  The embellishments are Autumn Leaves Rhinestone.  The printed paper is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on textured Stampin' Up Melon Mambo and Gable Green textured with Crafts Concepts Wings.  The sentiment is Bonnidee French Wording #1 stamped in Melon Mambo.  The embellishments are Stampin' Up Basic Jewels.  The entire card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

I really love the first card.  It is so very, very simple and the sentiment is totally awesome.  I'm not so fussy on the second card.  I love the embossing and the layers but the triangles don't do a thing for me.  I tried to jazz them up with the jewels but it just doesn't work.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Girly Girl V & VI

Hello everyone,

The bonus of doing small 8X8 one sheet wonders is that the roman numerals won't be over the top as I only get ten smaller cards from one piece of paper.  They are still as lovely just not quite so many.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on Stampin' Up More Mustard.  The embellishments are Crafts and Stampin' Up Basic Jewels.  The sentiment is Gina K Framed Greetings stamped in Melon Mambo.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on Stampin' Up Melon Mambo that was textured with Crafts-Too Butterflies.  The sentiment is Bonnidee French Wording #1 stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White.  The embellishments are Recollections Glitter Shapes and jewels of unknown origin.

Both of these cards are really cute.  I never need an excuse to glitter up a card and these girly cards are just the ticket.  I think they are absolutely perfect for little girls.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Girly Girl III & IV

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting the next two card is my girly girl one sheet wonder project.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on Stampin' Up Gable Green and Melon Mambo.  The sentiment is from Verve stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White. The embellishments are brads of unknown origin.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on textured Stampin' Up Melon Mambo.  It is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The sentiment is Toga stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White. The embellishments are Autumn Leaves.

I'm so happy with these cheerful and oh so colourful cards.  I never thought I'd ever use this bright Gable Green paper but it works great with this paper.  To me, part of the point of a one sheet wonder is to keep it very, very simple and these cards do that exactly.  These are scraps of paper, easy layouts and basic embellishments.  They are just perfect for what I had in mind for girly girl cards.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Girly Girl I & II

Hello everyone,

It looks like I'm back to roman numerals.  I've finished 'Christmas In July' and the commission cards that were on my plate so I'm back with cards for the charity Fall card sale at the office.  I decided to craft two, ten card 8X8 one sheet wonders.  One is for girls and one for boys.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on Stampin' Up Gable Green and Melon Mambo.  The Gable Green layer was textured with a Scor-Pal.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Small Greetings stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White.  The embellishments are Recollections Glitter Shapes.

The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on textured Stampin' Up Melon Mambo.  The sentiment is Bonnidee French Wording #1 stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White.  The embellishments are Autumn Leaves and Crafts.

I had so much fun sorting through my stash looking for the girliest sheet of paper I could find.  This particular sheet was gifted to me from a friend (Thanks Luckie!) and was so much fun to work with.  I didn't use the entire 12X12, only cutting enough for this small series.  I used only scraps of leftover solid papers and a number of embellishments that have been in my stash for eons.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Birthday Sister

Hello everyone,

Today is my middle sister's birthday.  I know she'll love this specially made card.

The printed paper is BasicGrey Sultry layered on textured Stampin' Up Always Artichoke.  The vertical element is Melon Mambo textured with Crafts-Too Musical Notes embossing folder.  The sentiment is Stampabilities Happy Birthday 01, stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White.  The image is Technique Tuesday Glee also stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White.  The embellishments are Kaisercraft December 25th pearls.

My sister is extremely into music, playing the clarinet in the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry band.  I bought this embossing folder with her in mind and can't wait to see her reaction.  The image, also a new stamp set, was picked up so my daughter can do some fund raising for her school band.  I also figured I could use it for my sister's cards.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Little Bits

Hello everyone,

Since I finished the Christmas In July series, I've been going through my scrap bin looking for bits and pieces to use on 3X3 gift cards.  I won't post those cards, there is just too many.  I did find some interesting things in the bins however and you'll be seeing a number of little bits over the next while.

The card base is DCWV Textured cards.  The printed paper is of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Denami Upright Happy Birthday stamped in Stampin' Up Wild Wasabi on Whisper White.  The embellishments are of unknown origin.

It seems that whenever I'm scrambling to put a card together, I turn to a favourite, tried and true layout and this card is no exception.  I really like this vertical sentiment with a few embellishments as accent.  This just works for me.  The card base was in my scrap bin because I was playing with an embossing folder and it just didn't work.  I put it aside to eventually do a cover-up.  The embossing is still evident on the inside where it works.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Christmas In July Encore

Hello everyone,

Today's card is one that I crafted in July and intended to give it to my sister but once I'd finished, I loved it so much I decided to keep it for myself - sorry D!

The printed paper is Provo Craft, layered on Bazzill Glazed Christmas and Stampin' Up Brushed Gold and Cherry Cobbler.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla and layered on more Cherry Cobbler.  The holly element is Spellbinders Holly Accents die cut from Stampin' Up Brushed Gold.  The embellishments are TPC Studio Timeless Christmas.

This is yet another card crafted from my scrap bin.  When I pulled out this teeny, tiny scrap of printed paper, I really didn't think I could pull a card together based upon it but I'm so glad I proved myself wrong.  All this holly just makes my heart happy!  Even the die cut holly was leftover from a previous card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Birthday Bubba

Hello everyone,

Today's card is for one of my husband's friends.  Our dog, Juno, goes crazy every time he sees Steven (aka Bubba) so it's become a tradition for me to craft his birthday card with a photo of Juno.

The background papers are K&Company Julianne.  The sentiment is Kaisercraft Occasions stamped in Stampin' Up Early Espresso on Very Vanilla.  The brads are of unknown origin.

This card is all about the image.  It is one of my own that I took at the cottage last summer.  Everything else about this card is utterly simple from the colours to the layout.  What more do you need when the image is so darn cute!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Vroom Day

Hello everyone,

My brother-in-law is turning fifty this year so a handcrafted card was a must.  He has always been a car enthusiast so when I SPI'd this paper, I just had to pick it up.

The printed paper is Echo Park Paper Co. A Boy's Life Hot Rod layered on Stampin' Up Not Quite Navy, textured Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Say It All.  The brads are of unknown origin.

This is a very simple card and well suited for my brother-in-law who will appreciate the clean lines and minimalist feel.  It is a perfect masculine card, made easy by this fantastic paper.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Baby, Baby, Baby II

Hello everyone,

The baby boom of 2012 is still kicking!  The daughter of another of my best friends just had a baby boy.  The first grandson for my girlfriend and he is cute as a button!  I had a great time putting this particular card together.

The printed paper is Little Yellow Bicycle Babysaurus Dinos All Over which is layered on Stampin' Up Peach Parfait and Recollections.  The vertical strip is Pear Pizazz textured with Cuttlebug Pop Culture embossing folder.  The sentiment is Penny Black Baby, Baby stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White and layered on Peach Parfait.

Aren't these dinosaurs just too cute!  I love this piece of paper.  It has a ton of colours that make it easy to coordinate with a variety of solid colours.  It is perfect for boy cards.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Baby, Baby, Baby

Hello everyone,

One of my best friends recently had a baby boy.  I'm so excited for her!

The printed paper is DCWV Nana's Kids layered on Stampin' Up Real Red.  The bottom layer is Recollections textured with Sizzix Birthday Surprise layered on more Recollections.  The sentiment is American Crafts Baby stamped in Real Red on Whisper White and layered on more Real Red.  The embellishments are atd Genuine Bubbles & Bling stickers.

Isn't this a great boy card!  The photo doesn't do it justice!  I thought about picking up some airplane stickers but when I found these stars in my stash, I had a theme to work with and the cards came together beautifully.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Wonderful Wedding Wishes

Hello everyone,

Now that the Christmas in July project has been completed, it's time to move on to other cards.  A colleague asked for a wedding shower card for her soon-to-be sister-in-law.  The only hint I got was bright blue.  Thank goodness for BasicGrey!

The printed paper is BasicGrey Marrakech.  The focal layer is Stampin' Up Pacific Point stamped with Verve Artful Elegance and layered on Whisper White.  The sentiment is My Favorite Things Clearly Sentimental About Anniversaries stamped in Pacific Point on Whisper White.  The embellishments are American Crafts Elements and Kaisercraft White Basic Pearl Strips.

I really love this card.  The blue really pops with the white.  I've been eyeing this MFT sentiment set since it was released but waited and waited and waited until I could really justify the purchase.  That is restraint on my part.  I debate about mixing two different types of embellishments.  It just didn't seem right to mix pearls and sparkle but once it was all together, it looked just fine.  I hope my colleague is pleased.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
