Hello everyone,
Today's card uses up some pieces that I found on my desk. It was maybe a bit too ambitious.
The images are Altenew Remember This stamped in Altenew Coral Berry, Cosmic Berry, Grapevine, Evergreen, Forest Glades, Frayed Leaf, Puffy Heart, Purple Wine, Rose Quartz, and Ruby Red, on Stampin' Up Whisper White. The background is Stampin' Up Watercolor Wash and Timeless Textures stamped in Rose Quartz and Puffy Heart. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Well Scripted stamped in Altenew Evergreen. The embellishments are Recollections.
Sometimes you should stop when you're ahead. I had already stamped the three red buds but when I started laying them out, I just couldn't get it to work. I figured by adding some extra leaves and more roses, I could work a layout of a row. I managed the row but it is much messier than I intended. I don't know if I'll keep this card as is but just may have to live with it for a while before I really like it.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Starting Somewhere
Hello everyone,
I finally made a card. Probably not my best card ever but not a bad effort after such a long hiatus.
The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Close To My Heart Smoky Plum. The image is Stampin' Up Nature's Secret stamped in Smoky Plum on Very Vanilla and layered on more Smoky Plum. The embellishments are of unknown origin.
I borrowed this stamp set from a girlfriend and stamped a number of the images in different inks in the hopes they would be a kick-starter for my creativity. These images are easy to use as they combine an image and sentiment. As easy as this card was, it still took me a while. I was full of indecision. It's a good thing I didn't go for something more complex. Baby steps.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Patterns And Textures
Hello everyone,
I finally sat down in my studio space to see if I could get my mojo flowing. We shall see if it actually worked. I had the pieces of today's card pieced out but not put together.
The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Bazzill brown. The sentiment is Avery Elle Happy Day stamped in Altenew Dark Chocolate on Stampin' Up Very Vanilla. The sentiment is layered on a piece of Ranger alcohol inked glossy paper textured with Cuttlebug Houndstooth embossing folder and layered on more Very Vanilla. The embellishments are Copper Pearl Liquid Pearls.
This is one of the more masculine cards I've been working on since February. I quite like the houndstooth pattern and the colour combination of red, brown and vanilla is great. I thought it was only natural to add some texture with a houndstooth embossing folder. The copper colour of the embossed layer prompted me to use the copper Liquid Pearls. I like that they appear as little studs and work really well with the vintage feel of the printed paper.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Perfect Plaid
Hello everyone,
Today's post is another masculine/neutral birthday card.
The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a navy and green Bazzill. The sentiment is Stampendous Graceful Birthday stamped in Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim on Recollections White and layered on more Bazzill navy. The banners are punched from Classic Red Bazzill. The embellishments are Mark Richards 3mm Silver Metal.
As with yesterday's card, this is a very straightforward layout that focuses on the great printed paper. Though it doesn't show all that well in this photo. The card base is a tan cardstock that matches perfectly with the beige stripe in the plan. I debated adding the small silver embellishments but given the size, and the simplicity of the card overall, the don't appear too frou frou. A great result!
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Dots And Banners
Hello everyone,
Today's card uses more fantastic Crop A While donated paper.
The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a green and brown Bazzill. The sentiment is Rubbernecker Happy Birthday stamped in Stampin' Up Early Espresso on a Bazzill White and layered on more green and brown. The sentiment panel was die cut with Stampin' Up / Sizzix Banners Framelits. The embellishments are Fabricland.
I think this is a great masculine card. I love the colours as well as the combination of dots and banners. The layered banners add interest and I think look really cool against the dotted background. I also love the gold dot embellishments as they work so very well with the printed paper. I'm very pleased with this results.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Splattered Wishes
Hello everyone,
I know it's been a while since my last post but my cardmaking mojo has taken a dive the last few weeks and I've had no gumption whatsoever to sit down at my desk. Sometimes, you just have to take a break.
I've had these next few cards crafted for weeks but just haven't sat down to post them.
The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Bazzill yellow and light blue. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Happy Celebrations stamped in Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze on a Bazzill white and layered on more Bazzill yellow.
Before my mojo disappeared, I was working on a series of masculine/neutral cards with paper that was generously donated by a local scrapbooking store Crop A While. I particularly loved the brightly coloured splatter. This card also gave me the perfect excuse to experiment with some of the new Stampin' Up stamps I recently acquired. This stamp set is not in my usual style but it struck me as really versatile for both masculine, feminine, neutral and kid cards. As if I really needed another stamp set!
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
