Flowery Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another 'thank you' card I crafted for my daughter to send to her Great Grandmother.

The card base is The Paper Studio.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Close To My Heart Canary and Gypsy.  The sentiment is Spellbinders Thanks Expressions cut from more Canary and Gypsy and is highlighted with Wink of Stella Clear 999.

My Grandmother-in-law is 102 years old and is having a harder time seeing things these days so I figured this bold die cut sentiment would be perfect for her Christmas thank you card.  She just loves bright colours and things that sparkle so I always strive to use these elements when I craft cards for her.  I was also hoping that this iris paper would be especially cheerful given that she's been cooped up in her long-term care home for close to a year thanks to the pandemic.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Golfing Thank You

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is a 'thank you' card I crafted for my daughter to send to her Grandfather.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed papers are Stampin' Up Country Club layered on Night of Navy.  The images is Stampin' Up Club House stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and cut with Stampin' Up Golf Club coordinating die.  The image was coloured with various Reeves watercolor pencils.  The sentiment is Altenew Many Thanks stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and cut with the Stampin' Up Golf Club die.

My father-in-law put away his golf clubs a number of years back but he'll always love the sport.  When my daughter asked me to craft his Christmas 'thank you' card I couldn't resist using this Stampin' Up set.  I was particularly thrilled to find just the right size sentiment to fit the golf ball die.  I love that I managed to make it appear that the 'thank you' ball was hit by the golfer.  I don't do scenes well and though this may not be a true scene, I'm proposing it qualifies, somewhat.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thirty Years

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is the anniversary card I crafted for my husband.

The card base is Recollections Pearlized Gold.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on an ivory also of unknown origin.  The image is Gina K Because of You stamped in Stampin' Up Soft Suede on Recollections Vanilla, heat embossed with Close To My Heart Silver Pearl and layered on a shimmery gold of unknown origin.  The sentiment, also Gina K Because of You, is stamped in Soft Suede on more Recollections Vanilla.

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in late December.  I think 30 years is pretty awesome and though we couldn't go out to celebrate (pandemic lock down), I wanted him to have a special card.  I love all the different muted golds and ivory as well as all the different layers.  The image and sentiment are an absolute favourite for an anniversary card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Splashy Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's post is the last 'thank you' card I crafted for a recent commission.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a green Bazzill and a bright blue of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Verve Amazing Wishes stamped in Altenew Starlight on Recollections White and layered on more Bazzill green and bright blue.  The embellishments are Jolee's All That Bling Variety Studs.

I've always love this piece of paper.  It reminds me of a splash of water.  The layout is not dissimilar to other cards in the commission.  I used the blue strip on the right side to anchor the oval sentiment.  The silver stud embellishments speak to the small circles in the printed paper.  It's a pretty decent result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Zig Zag Thank You

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another commissioned 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Grey.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim.  The sentiment is Recollections stamped in Outdoor Denim on Recollections White and layered on more Outdoor Denim.  The silver brad embellishments are of unknown origin.

At Michael's a while back I came across these light grey Recollections card bases which I thought may be a nice change of pace.  Would that I'd picked up a few extra packages because they're fantastic!  As a soft neutral base, I'm finding they work with a ton of printed papers in my stash and scrap bins!  If I every get out of lockdown... This layout is an oft-used favourite and I love the oval sentiment against the zig zag of the printed paper.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Bold Blue Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is fantastic great blue and white 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Midnight Muse and Bashful Blue.  The sentiment is Spellbinders Thanks Expression cut from Midnight Muse and Bashful Blue and, stamped in Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim on Recollections White.  The embellishments are Mark Richards 3mm silver metals.

Of all my sentiment die cuts, this is my favourite!  I love the bold size and the two layers just take it over the top.  The overall impact is just stunning!  The printed paper makes a great background for the sentiment and made choosing the coordinating blues pretty easy.  This is probably one of my favourites cards of this entire commission.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Sweet Subtle Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another more feminine 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a light green of unknown origin (possibly Stampin' Up River Rock).  The sentiment is Altenew Halftone Thanks stamped in Stampin' Up Elegant Eggplant on Recollections White and cut with the coordinating die.  The embellishments are Crafts Rhinestone Stickers.

Like the oval paper from a few days ago, I found the colours in this printed paper very appealing.  It was nice to craft a softer, more feminine card.  I was thrilled to add this large Altenew sentiment to my stash a while back but I find it more of a challenge to use and I don't always have the time or patience to 'play' with it.  I'm so happy it turned out fairly well in this instance.  I'm really not sure about the random bling and have come to the conclusion that I just may never get it right.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Blue Suited Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a great blue 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a white of unknown origin and Stampin' Up Bordering Blue.  The Bordering Blue layer was textured with Stampin' Up's Square Lattice embossing folder.  The sentiment is cut with a Lawn Fawn die from Recollections White.  The embellishments are Doodlebug boy assortment mini pearls.

This card is completely inspired by a man's suit.  I love the tone on tone blues with hints of crisp white.  I didn't originally plan to embossing the Bordering Blue layer but the texture made all the difference overall.  The blue pearls are, of course, representative of buttons.  It's not that much of a stretch!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Oval Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a more feminine 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Soft Sage and a white of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Four You stamped in Altenew Industrial Diamond on Recollections White and layered on more Soft Sage.  The embellishments is a Crafts brad highlighted with Avocado Liquid Pearls.

I find this printed paper quite appealing.  The different coloured ovals just speak to me.  There were any number of design options available but I decide to use this edge to edge horizontal so I could show as much of the paper as possible.  I rounded the edge of the sentiment because it worked better with the ovals.  Placing the sentiment on the right side was just a way to switch things up a little in this rather large commission.  As I'm posting I wish I had had a oval brad because that would have made it over the top great!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Paisley Thanks

Hello everyone,

I have yet another 'thank you' card today.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is also Recollections and is layered on Stampin' Up Basic Grey and River Rock.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Perfectly Penned stamped in Altenew Industrial Diamond on Recollections White and layered on more Basic Grey and River Rock.  The horizontal Basic Grey strip was textured with the Darice Paisley Background embossing folder.

I had pretty much free reign for this commission so was able to get creative with all of my favourite patterns.  I've had this paisley paper forever and I love every card I've made with it.  Paisley is a great pattern for a tie so works perfectly for this corporate card commission.  I love this sentiment even though I don't use it all that often.  As I was pulling the elements together I decide a little paisley texture would be a nice addition even thought you don't see all that much of it.  This is a better result that I'd pictured in my mind and is a card I could easily repeat.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Ikat Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is Carta Bella Wildflower Ikat layered on Stampin' Up Mint Macaron and Basic Grey.  The sentiment is Close To My Heart For Every Occasion stamped in Altenew Industrial Diamond on Recollections White.  The embellishments are of unknown origin.

Ikat is another pattern that I really love.  I first came across it through a home design show on television.  This is a great neutral coloured ikat, making colour coordination pretty easy.  I love this larger sentiment with its great font.  Placing the sentiment on an angle made me happy and I love that there was space for these two square silver brads.  It's a great result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Another Argyle Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Soft Suede and Lost Lagoon.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Thank You Messages stamped in Soft Suede on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more Soft Suede and Lost Lagoon.  The square brad embellishments are Crafts.

I think argyle is perfect for a corporate thank you card, especially for masculine clients.  The colours in this argyle paper are especially appealing with so many options for coordinating.  For quite a while now I've been loving using banners so I couldn't resist for this commission.  I love how the layered banners anchor the sentiment and this wider one is perfect for these rather large square brads.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Coffee

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another 'thank you' card in the commission I've crafted.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a medium blue Bazzill and Stampin' Up Early Espresso.  The sentiment is Impression Obsession Vertical Greetings stamped in Early Espresso on Recollections Vanilla.  The embellishments are Stampin' Up Subtle Candy Dots.

Not all corporate 'thank you' cards have to be serious so when I came across this paper I knew I'd use it in this commission.  I love the pile of coffee cups and was thrilled to have this vertical sentiment in my stash. It couldn't be more perfect for this card and the final result is just fantastic!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Another Great Plaid Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is yet another 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla. The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Handsome Hunter and Soft Suede.  The sentiment is Altenew Many Thanks stamped in Soft Suede on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more Handsome Hunter and Soft Suede.  The embellishments are from Multicrafts.

I got a more formal vibe from this plaid.  I don't know if it's the colours or the larger checks.  The simplicity of the layout is a nod to the more formal business aspect of this 'thank you' card commission.  The font of the sentiment is also rather formal though simple.  The three gold studs are my take on manly embellishments.  It's another great result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

So Many Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another wonderful 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections vanilla.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Old Olive and Close To My Heart Smoothie.  The sentiment is Penny Black Thanks, Thanks stamped in Stampin' Up Soft Suede on more vanilla and layered on more Smoothie and Old Olive.  The embellishments are Crafts rhinestone stickers.

This should be a somewhat familiar card for I SPI followers as I've used this printed paper and layout many times before.  I obviously love it!  The colours are great for coordinating and the font works perfectly with the lines in the design.  I saw this as a more feminine card so I added maybe a little more bling than I normally would have.  It's a great result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Houndstooth Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Recollections Black and a vanilla of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Creative Expressions Scribbled Sentiments stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on more vanilla of unknown origin.

In my mind, nothing is more 'corporate' than a houndstooth plaid.  This is the perfect paper for a business thank you card.  I love the black and white colour combination.  The sentiment, one I use often, is wonderful as the impression goes over both edges.  In hindsight a couple of super shiny black embellishments would have been a great addition as they easily could have mimicked buttons!  Ah hindsight!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Green Argyle Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is Reminisce "Lucky Day" Lucky Plaid layered on Stampin' Up Garden Green and Close To My Heart Ponderosa Pine.  The sentiment is of unknown origin stamped in Ponderosa Pine on Recollections Vanilla.

This printed paper is the flip side of the printed paper from yesterday's card.  I love them both and they were perfect for my friend who loves green.  He's a bit of a golfer too so I feel this is eminently suitable.  I could envision any embellishments and didn't want to do more banners so I decided to just leave it as is and I'm glad I did because this was a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Green Plaid Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is a very simple plaid card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is Reminisce "Lucky Day" Lucky Plaid layered on Stampin' Up Garden Green and Apricot Appeal.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Thank You Messages stamped in Close To My Heart Ponderosa Pine on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more Garden Green.  The mini banners were punched from Apricot Appeal.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Artisan Stud Durables.

I often say that a card doesn't need to be complex to be great!  This is a truly simple card using a great piece of plaid paper with a bold sentiment.  I love the mini banners and use them quite often.  I'm a little concerned that the embellishments may be a little on the large size but hope they'll go through the mail all right because they're metal.  Fingers crossed.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Arched Thank You

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a bit of a more formal 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is BasicGrey Oxford layered on Stampin' Up Bravo Burgundy.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Expressions stamped in Bravo Burgundy on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more Bravo Burgundy.  The mini gold brads are of unknown origin.

I've always found this piece of printed paper so very striking.  I love the arches and the colours.  It is a little on the large size in terms of scale but it's not terrible as there is no real 'blank' space.  I could have coordinated with any of the colours but I quite like the burgundy.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Green Paisley Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another wonderful 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is Fancy Pants "Happy Together" Always layered on a dark green Bazzill.  The sentiment is Avery Elle stamped in Close To My Heart Ponderosa Pine on Recollections Vanilla.  The embellishments are from Fabricland.

This was another necktie inspired paper well worthy of a card.  Paisley just works wonderfully for neckties.  This great light olive green colour was also perfect for my friend who commissioned these cards as it's his favourite colour.  The angled sentiment is great and of course, inspired the placement of these square metal embellishments which could be considered cuff links.  Once I got on the 'suit' theme, it just kept my mojo going.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Paisley Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great business 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is Déjà Views Homespun Paisley layered on Recollections Blue.  The sentiment is Avery Elle Sentiment Too cut from more Recollections Blue.  The embellishments are mini gold brads of unknown origin.

This printed paper struck me a very necktie worthy and thus a card was crafted!  This is another die and stamp set that I am drawn to whenever I craft a large batch of 'thank you' cards even though I decided against adding a stamped element.  I especially love how the 'tails' flow off the card.  Also, the long 'tail' on the right is perfect for adding embellishments.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Green and Blue Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another wonderful 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Recollections Navy and Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade.  The sentiment Altenew Halftone Thanks stamped in Close To My Heart Denim on Recollections White and layered on more Lucky Limeade.  The 'thanks' is cut from Recollections Navy with the coordinating Altenew Halftone Thanks die.

The printed paper reminded me of a shirt making is perfect for a this commission.  I think I've used this Altenew stamp and die set every time I craft 'thank you' cards.  It is just great for a quick and easy card.  I'm a big fan of stamp and die sets.  This is a really great neutral business 'thank you' card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Neon Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is Ella & Viv Paper Company "Modern Art" Mosaic layered on Stampin' Up Midnight Muse and Lemon Lime Twist.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thank You Words stamped in Close To My Heart Denim on Recollections White and layered on more Lemon Lime Twist and Midnight Muse banners.  The embellishments are Eyelet Outlet enamel dots.

I just love it when I find just the right coordinating elements in my stash.  All these different companies produced the perfect elements for this card.  I love the double horizontal banner underneath the sentiment.  I'm not usually a big fan of 'neon' but on this card, it's just awesome.  The bright green, navy and white are a fantastic colour combine.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Plaid

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is a great plaid 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed papers are of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Elegant Eggplant.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Say It All stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Recollections White and layered on more printed paper and Elegant Eggplant.  The embellishments are Eyelet Outlet enamel dots.

When choosing the elements for these cards I was often thinking of men's suits, ties and shirts as inspiration.  This plaid would be great for a shirt!  I just love a purple and green colour combination.  I also find plaid a great pattern for more neutral cards. I couldn't resist using a banner for the sentiment and think the pale lavender enamel dots work great!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Dots of Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another lovely Stampin' Up 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Grey.  The printed paper is Stampin' Up Birds of a Feather layered on Stampin' Up Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Thank You Messages stamped in Altenew Lava Rock on Recollections White and layered on more Island Indigo.  The embellishments are Echo Park "Have Faith" enamel dots.

I think this is a perfect neutral 'thank you' card.  I love this very simple printed paper and all the different colour coordination options!  I chose this particular sentiment because I could mimic the dots on the printed paper.  I was rather surprised (sort of) to find enamel dots that matched the Summer Starfruit layer so well.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Colorful Thank You

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another fun Stampin' Up 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Grey.  The printed paper is Stampin' Up Sweet Sorbet layered on Stampin' Up Summer Starfruit.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Ornate Thanks stamped in Altenew Lava Rock on Recollections White and layered on more Summer Starfruit.  The embellishments are TPC Studio Class Act Mini Jewels.

I have a wide variety of older Stampin' Up designer series papers that I'm really trying to use as the stash needs reducing.  This is a great paper for a neutral card.  It's not too fussy and there are a lot of coordinating colour options.  I also think it works great on the horizontal.   This 'thank you' stamp set is also great with a ton of different options.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Chevron Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is a great 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Grey.  The printed paper is Stampin' Up Best Year Ever layered on Stampin' Up Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Another Thank You stamped in Altenew Lava Rock on Recollections White and layered on more Crushed Curry.  The embellishments are My Mind's Eye "I'm With" and "Oliver", and Echo Park "Have Faith" enamel dots.

A friend has commissioned 25 thank you cards for his clients so I've been quite busy over the holidays.  For the most part, this 'thank you' series is pretty neutral as they could be sent to either male or female clients.  I had a lot fun with a variety of simple and straightforward layouts.  I also really enjoyed dusting off the 'thank you' stamps in my stash.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

An Early Valentine

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is a great Valentine requested by a friend for his 'love'!

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Recollections Red Foil and Hygloss Gold Foil.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches All Year Cheer stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and layered on more red foil.  The heart brad is of unknown origin.

I know, I know, it's a titch early for Valentine cards but when a friend place an order for thank you cards I asked if he'd also like a Valentine for his partner.  Killing multiple birds at once so to speak.  This is the perfect card for his girlfriend (my bestie)! It's big, bright and bold!  I love the paper and of course used lots of shiny because it just suits her to a tee!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Leafy Thank You

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is a sample thank you card for a possible commission later this year.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Early Espresso and Pumpkin Pie.  The sentiment is Penny Black Special Sentiments stamped in Early Espresso on Recollections White and layered on more Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso.  The leaf sprig was cut with a Docrafts X-Cut Leaves die from Stampin' Up Hello Honey.

Last autumn a friend inquired about placing a large order of client thank you cards for his office but the commission fell through because it was too last minute for me to work out how to include a sentiment on the inside.  I've had time to think about it so I put together this sample card.  The card will be used whether or not I get commissioned.  I used my word processing software to print the sentiment on cardstock then I layered it on a piece of Pumpkin Pie before adhering it to the inside of the card.  It looks pretty good if I do say so myself.  It would be a fairly large order so I would craft multiple sets of a variety of cards.  This sample is pretty straightforward and would be fairly easy to mass produce.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Happy Camper

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is a retirement card that I crafted for a neighbor whose enjoyed his last day of work on December 24th.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is Cosmo Cricket "Mr Campy" Happy Campers layered on Stampin' Up Early Espresso and Core'dinations olive green.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Wild About Flowers stamped in Early Espresso on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more Early Espresso and olive green.  The mini banners were punched from Early Espresso.  The antique gold brads are of unknown origin.

The retirement plan for our neighbors was to buy a camper and hit the open road so I couldn't resist crafting this camper retirement card!  I think it's absolutely perfect!  I love the simple style of the images and the variety of colours makes for easy colour coordination.  The font of the sentiment is perhaps a little on the fussy side compare to the rest of the card but I have limited 'retirement' stamps and didn't want to repeat what I'd used for his wife's card.  Their retirement is well-deserved and I hope they enjoy all the adventures they will have.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I'm kicking off I SPI's 2021 posts with a baby card.  It strikes me as a fitting way to kick off the new year!

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is Stemma Baby Girl layered on Stampin' Up Pale Plum.  The image was cut with Creative Expressions Sweet Dreams Little One die from more Pale Plum and highlighted with Altenew Baby Pink ink.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Short & Sweet stamped in Altenew Baby Pink on Recollections White and layered on more Pale Plum.

I crafted this card for my neighbors who became grandparents for the second time in late October.  I really love this baby paper as it offers so many options for coordinating colours and embellishments.  This puppy die cut is particularly cute as are all the critters in the set.  The scale of the images in the paper are pretty good for a card.  It's a great result and perfect for welcoming a sweet baby girl!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
