Feeling Floral

Hello everyone,

Today's post is for another card that's going into my stash.

The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim.  The images are Stampin' Up Bordering On Romance stamped in Outdoor Denim on Recollections Vanilla.  The images were clear heat embossed, coloured with pastels and covered with Close To My Heart Liquid Glass.  The sentiment is Gina K Fanciful Tags stamped in Outdoor Denim.  The ribbon is Craftsmart.

This Liquid Glass technique is a favourite even though I don't do it all that often.  I love the depth it gives an image.  The pastels (chalks really) were the best option for coordinating with this beautiful background paper.  I sure wish I remember where it came from.  I seem to really be into adding ribbon at the moment.  A good thing given the amount of ribbon I've got.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Swallowtail Congratulations

Hello everyone,

Today's post is the card I intended for yesterday.  It was stamped perfectly this second time around.

The image is Stampin' Up Swallowtail stamped in Close To My Heart Slate and Stampin' Up Illuminate inks.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Curly Cute also stamped in Slate ink and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

I was so happy with this impression, I decided not to add to much else on the off chance I messed it up.  Oh the tension that comes with using such a large stamp.  The Illuminate ink adds just a hint of shimmer to the image and was pretty easy to use as it doesn't have to be a perfect impression.  I had to round the bottom corners of the card because one of them ended up in an ink pad.  All in all, this disaster card turned out pretty darn good!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Swallowtail Fix

Hello everyone,

Today's card fixes a bad stamping job.

The image is Stampin' Up Swallowtail stamped with Close To My Heart Slate ink on Recollections Vanilla.  The sentiment is Verve Happy Thoughts stamped in Early Espresso.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Pearl Opaques.

This goof couldn't have turned out better!  The card I planned, which I redid for tomorrow's post, was badly stamped and I just couldn't cover it up.  Instead of throwing the card in the garbage, I decided to cut out the image and pop it up onto another card base!  It so worked!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

So Sorry

Hello everyone,

I go through more sympathy cards than any other so this card was crafted to augment my stash.

The printed paper is K&Co Brenda Walton layered on Stampin' Up Going Grey that was trimmed with a Stampin' Up Edgelits die.  The image is Hero Arts French Writing with Butterfly stamped in Close To My Heart Slate ink on Very Vanilla and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The sentiment is Gina K Fanciful Tage also stamped in Slate on Very Vanilla.  The ribbon is Michael's Special Value.  The embellishments are Prima Say It With Pearls.

This card took forever to come together.  I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted to do so it seemed haphazard from the get go.  I'm not certain if I did the right thing with all the embellishments.  I feel I should have kept going by adding them to all the curves on the edge.  This pearls are actually a shape that I've cut apart in order to use the individual pearls.  They are very, very tiny, making them hard to use but work so well with the colours in the card, it was worth the effort.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Tulip Bouquet

Hello everyone,

Spring feels like it has finally arrived!

The printed paper is Prima Sew Cute layered on textured Stampin' Up Old Olive and Bermuda Bay.  The images are Stampin' Up Blessed Easter stamped in Close To My Heart Whisper ink on Very Vanilla and painted with LuminArte Sea Glass, Lemongrass, Fuzzy Peach, Persimmon and Mango Mamba Twinkling H2Os.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Express Yourself stamped in StazOn Olive Green.  The embellishments are Doodlebug Boy Assortment mini pearls.

This Prima paper is really lovely but a bit of a challenge to incorporate into a card.  The stitching has a tendency to unravel where the paper is cut.  That said, it works perfectly with these beautiful painted tulips.  I am so ready to see my tulips blooming!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Circles of Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's card is another to replenish my stash.

The printed papers are Stampin' Up Elegant Soiree.  The sentiment is Penny Black Thanks, Thanks stamped in Basic Grey on Very Vanilla and layered on more elegant Soiree.

This is one of my very, very favourite Stampin' Up designer papers.  I even purchased a second package before it was discontinued.  I really wanted to craft a card that was as neutral as possible and this paper made it so very easy as this card would work wonderfully for either a man or a woman.  With all the patterns coordinating so beautifully this card was so quick and easy.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Bold Butterflies

Hello everyone,

Today's card is another case from Pinterest that I've been dying to try.  It didn't quite work as intended but I'm very pleased with the results none-the-less.

The printed paper is Stampin' Up Cheerful Treat whose bottom edge was punched with a Retro Flower border punch.  The butterflies were cut from Pink Pirouette, Concord Crush and Lucky Limeade with an EK Success Butterfly punch.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Thoughtful Messages stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Whisper White.  The embellishments are Queen & Co Iridescent Rhinestones.

This card is so very bright and cheerful that I just can't help but be pleased with it even though the results are not exactly what I intended.  The top of the butterflies are suppose to form a border with the punched piece affixed separately to the bottom of the card.  I'll have to try again.  I almost used a birthday greeting but I've so many female birthday cards in my stash I really didn't need another.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
