Autumn Hello

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great hello card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Very Vanilla.  The printed paper is Harmonie "Été Indien" feuilles et papillons layered on Stampin' Up Hello Honey and Ridinghood Red.  The image is Sizzix Wildflower Stems #2 die, cut from more Ridinghood Red.  The sentiment is Altenew Painted Butterflies stamped in Stampin' Up Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and highlighted with Golden Rod Stickles.  The butterfly brad is from Creative Expressions.

I really hadn't intended to craft such a autumnal card but I just loved this paper so much, I couldn't resist.  This is quite a large card base so I was inspired to use one of the larger die cut stems in this series.  I love the pop of red!  I used the sentiment panel to anchor the stem, something I've done before with great results.  The Stickles glitter and the gold butterfly brad add just the right amount of sparkle and shine.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Floral Hello

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a lovely floral hello card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is Pink Fresh Studio Indigo Hills 2 "Glen" layered on Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim.  The images and sentiment are Stampin' Up To A Wild Rose stamped in Outdoor Denim on Stampin' Up Powder Pink and Recollections White.  The images are cut with the coordinating die.  The foliage was die cut from Stampin' Up Lemon Lime Twist.  The sentiment is layered on more Outdoor Denim.  The rose is highlighted with Diamond Stickles.

This photo really doesn't do the card justice!  I love the printed paper.  The images, simple drawings, with hints of watercolour is so appealing!  I mimicked the paper with the die cut rose and bright foliage.  The diagonal strip of navy was leftover from the background layer and works great to anchor the flower and the sentiment.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Friendship Floral

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a very pretty friend card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Almost Amethyst and Summer Sun.  The images are Stampin' Up Botanical Blooms stamped in Altenew Citrus Burst, Maple Yellow, Minty Mint, and Sweet Leaf, and Stampin' Up Almost Amethyst ad Lavender Lace on Recollections White.  The image panel is layered on more Summer Sun.  The sentiment is also Stampin' up Botanical Blooms stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Recollections White and layered on more Lavender Lace.  The card is highlighted with Recollections adhesive faux pearls.

I really love this fresh spring friendship card.  I was thrilled to have images that coordinated so well with the printed paper.  The biggest challenge was going through my ink stash to find colours that would work just as well.  I played with a bunch of colours before finding just the right light and dark shades.  I used a simple sentiment, placed in the design 'sweet spot'.  Adding pearls to the flower centers are just icing on the cake!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Wrapped Around

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a birthday card that I cased from Pinterest.

The card base is Recollections White.  The image is Stampin' Up Swallowtail stamped in Stampin' Up Lovely Lilac and Tempting Turquoise, and Tsukineko Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid.  The sentiment is Frantic Stamper stamped in Altenew Jet Black.

I saw this card a long time ago on Pinterest and was immediately drawn to it.  I love the wrap around aspect and this swallowtail image is just perfect!  The ink colours I chose work really well, making this card very cheerful.  It's so simple, I stamped the image before I folded the card. I didn't add any type of embellishment because it would have distracted from this wonderful image.  It's a better result than I had imagined!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Pop Art Wish

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great birthday card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The image is Hero Arts Pop Stems stamped in Stampin' Up Taken With Teal, Always Artichoke and Elegant Eggplant on Recollections White and layered on Stampin' Up Taken With Teal, Always Artichoke and Elegant Eggplant.  The sentiment is Frantic Stamper stamped Elegant Eggplant.  The card is highlighted with Diamond Stickles.

I was so happy with yesterday's card that I just couldn't resist crafting a similar card using cool colours.  I also already had the ink spots on my desk.  This is a favourite wooden stamp.  It is quite large but is easy to ink and stamp.  The dots are just perfect for adding a bit of Stickles.  I love having the sentiment in the design 'sweet spot', stamped directly on the card base.  It's as good a result as I got with yesterday's card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Flight of Wishes

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a fantastic feminine birthday card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The image is Memory Box First Flight stamped in Stampin' Up Regal Rose, Ruby Red and More Mustard on Recollections White.  The card is layered on Stampin' Up Ruby Red and More Mustard.  The Ruby Red layer was textured with Craft Concepts Wings embossing folder.  The sentiment is cut from the Memory Box Happy Birthday Friendship Script die from Stampin' Up More Mustard and is highlighted with Wink of Stella Clear 999.  The embellishments are Forever In Time Rhinestones.

I love using this butterfly stamp when I'm in the mood for playing with multiple ink colours.  In this case I chose three Stampin' Up inks from the same collection.  I used two of the coordinating solid papers for layering and the die cut sentiment.  I don't often craft what I call 'Stampin' Up cards' but sometimes the Stampin' Up elements just come together so easily I've finished a card before even realizing it's basically a 'Stampin' Up card'.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Exotic Wishes

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another pretty feminine birthday card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The image is Hero Arts Exotic Blooms stamped in Tombow N57, 192, 228 and 772 on Recollections White, and is layered on Marianne Design Basic Paper Watercolour and a grey of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Denami Design Upright Happy Birthday stamped in Altenew Pure Graphite.  The card is highlighted with Platinum Liquid Pearls.

This is a layout that I've done many times before.  I've probably used this image in this layout before as well.  I find the pink and grey colour combination very appealing.  This vertical sentiment is a favourite.  The font is wonderful and the size is perfect for these larger cards.  I love the results.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Clean and Simple

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a really fun feminine birthday card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The image is Penny Black Birds on Wire stamped in Tombow N25, 296, 493, 636, 755 and 985 on Recollections White and layered on Recollections Black.  The sentiment is Gina K Pleasant Plurals stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Recollections White and layered on more Recollections White.

This is a much different card than my usual but I had this idea.  It turned out exactly how I'd imagined!  This is a great stamp but not one which I use often.  It's very simple but not all that large so unless left simple, it leaves a fair bit of white space.  In this case, I thought it was perfect for this 'from all of us' sentiment.  I was inspired to use different colours for the birds to make them pop against the black and white.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Birthday Rose

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a wonderful feminine birthday card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The image is Penny Black The Look of Love stamped in Tombow 098, 177, 905, 925 and 933 on Recollections Vanilla.  The image is layered on an orange Bazzill, an orange Recollections and more Recollections Vanilla.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Perfectly Penned stamped in Altenew Jet Black.  The embellishments are TPC Studio Rockets & Rayguns mini jewels.

This has quickly become another favourite stamp!  It is so very easy to colour and I've always loved the results.  This is another wonderfully layered card.  I thought stamping the sentiment on one of the layers was inspired but I'm pretty sure I've done it before.  I'm also quite happy with the bling placement!  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Today's Wish

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another beautiful feminine birthday card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The image is A Muse Chrysanthemum Open stamped in Altenew Permanent Black on Recollections Vanilla and painted with LuminArte Fresh Oregano, Mango Mamba and Olive Vine Twinkling H2Os.  The sentiment is Penny Black Special Sentiments also stamped in Altenew Permanent Black.  The image/sentiment panel is layered on a yellow and a green both of unknown origin.  The embellishments are Crafts rhinestones.

There is something so lovely about this simple style of cards.  I'm quite pleased with the combined image/sentiment panel against the coordinating layers.  I love how the three simple rhinestones follow the arc of the stem.  I often hesitate to use yellow but I am finding the more I use it, the happier I am with the results.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Beautiful Bouquet

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a very pretty feminine birthday card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The image is Hero Arts Delicate Rose Stems stamped in Altenew Permanent Black on Recollections Vanilla and painted with LuminArte Fuzzy Peach and Lemongrass Twinkling H2Os.  The image panel is layered on K&Company Julianne Mat Pad, Bazzill Basics and a light peach of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Joy Crafts Sayings stamped in Altenew Permanent Black.  The embellishments Want 2 Scrap LaCreme Baby Bling Pearls.

When I went to my stash for a birthday card last week I discovered I had only two feminine English birthday cards.  An issue easily remedied with an afternoon of crafting.  This is a favourite.  I've always loved this image!  It is so easy to paint and always turns out beautifully.  I'm heartily satisfied with the layers of peach which are utterly perfect against the vanilla base.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Special Birdies

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a really simple card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Whisper White.  The printed paper is Stampin' Up Good Morning Sunshine designer series paper layered on Stampin' Up Pacific Point.  The sentiment is Creative Expressions Amazing Sentiments stamped in Pacific Point on Whisper White and layered on more Pacific Point.  The card is highlighted with Diamond Stickles.

I really want this series of cards to be bright and cheerful.  I thought this little birdie paper was perfect for a card.  It's actually a very simple design with two shades of blue and white.  After trying a number of different things, I realized that keeping it simple was the best choice.  I think the angled sentiment adds interest and the little dabs of glitter is the perfect little extra.  It's a great result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Footprints

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a bit of a different card than my usual.

The card base is Stampin' Up Whisper White.  The sentiment is Creative Expressions Amazing Sentiments stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Whisper White and layered on Stampin' Up Island Indigo and Whisper White, and a piece of Ranger alcohol inked glossy paper.  The ribbon is American Crafts.

Of course I couldn't craft just one alcohol inked paper card!  This is a favourite piece with different shades of blue and just a titch of pink/purple.  I came across this sentiment when I was looking for the sentiment for yesterday's card.  I didn't even realize it was part of this Creative Expressions stamp set.  Obviously I've not used it before!  I'm sure everyone is familiar with this poem and I thought it eminently appropriate for the types of cards I'm crafting right now.  For some reason, I liked the placement lower on the card rather than centered.  It's a great result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Friendly Hello

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a really great 'hello' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Whisper White.  The printed paper is Pink Fresh Studio "Indigo Hills 2" Mesa layered on Stampin' Up Smoky Slate and Close To My Heart Eggplant.  The sentiment is Creative Expressions Celebration Sentiments stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Whisper White and layered on more Eggplant.  The sentiment was cut with the coordinating Creative Expressions Tags & Banners dies.  The ribbon is American Crafts.

I just love this card!  The printed paper is so simple with a such a variety of colours, coordinating is pretty easy.  I love a purple/grey colour combination.  I've had this vertical sentiment set for quite a while but have not played with it as much as I would have liked.  I only recent acquired the coordinating die cut set which really makes using the stamp set so much easier.  I love having something anchor the banner and was thrilled to find this perfect purple ribbon.  I used a flat bow because the card is going to be mailed.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Simple Thoughts

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another wonderful 'thinking of you' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Whisper White.  The printed paper was made using shaving cream and a variety of Stampin' Up re-inkers (the shaving cream technique) and is layered on Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry and Taken With Teal, and a white of unknown origin.  The sentiment is My Favorite Things Brushstroke Expressions stamped in Taken With Teal on Whisper White and layered on more Taken With Teal.  The embellishment is a metal flower from Multicrafts and a Crafts brad highlighted with Holiday Cheer Nuvo Glitter Drops.

I used this shaving cream technique on a number of papers a couple of years ago and had a fair bit of leftovers in my stash.  I thought it would be great for this series of cards I've been making for friends and family.  I think the layers on this card are great as they really highlight the swirls of colour in the printed paper.  I think I probably should have re-inked my Taken With Teal stamp pad as the impression of the sentiment is a little on the light side.  It took me a while to figure out an appropriate embellishment and I'm quite happy with the final result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Spring

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a really cheerful 'hello' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Whisper White.  The image is the Sizzix/Stampin' Up Butterfly Thinlits die, cut from Close To My Heart Sunny Yellow and highlighted with Tattered Angels Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Everyday Sayings stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Whisper White and layered on Close To My Heart Citrus Leaf.  The image and sentiment are adhered to a piece of Ranger alcohol inked glossy paper which was layered on a white of unknown origin and more Citrus Leaf.  The card is highlighted with Lime Green Stickles.

Not only is the novelty of physical distancing lessening but I'm tired of grey skies and cold temperatures!  I'm want sunshine and warmth!  I made this bright and sunny hello card instead.  I took some time to play with alcohol ink on the weekend.  It was pretty limited however I've only a little bit of isopropyl alcohol left and it's now impossible to find.  I do have some blending solution but that is really expensive compared to rubbing alcohol.  I'm quite happy with these latest pieces of alcohol inked papers.  This piece turned out as cheerful as I'd hoped.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Naturally

Hello everyone,

Today's card is a very neutral 'thinking of you' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Whisper White.  The image is Woodware Wheat stamped in Tsukineko Brilliance Pearlescent Beige and Olive on Whisper White.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Everyday Sayings stamped in Altenew Dark Chocolate.  The image/sentiment panel is layered on a piece of Ranger alcohol inked glossy paper, Stampin' Up Old Olive and a brown of unknown origin.  The ribbon is of unknown origin.

A girlfriend sent me a beautiful Easter card with a wonderful alcohol inked background which inspired me to break into my own stash of alcohol inks.  I love the soft green and beige in this piece.  It was perfect for a more natural card.  It also gave me an opportunity to play with some of the Tsukineko inks in my stash.  I think the results are just amazing!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Sending My Best

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another pretty card crafted for a friend.

The card base is Stampin' Up Very Vanilla.  The printed paper is Close To My Heart Miracle layered on Colonial White and Crystal Blue.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Happy Wishes stamped in Close To My Heart Sweet Leaf on Colonial White, layered on Sweet Leaf and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The card is highlighted with Diamond Stickles.

I've always loved this piece of printed paper.  The images and colours are so pretty.  All I've left of this collection is one little piece of Miracle and I'm really not sure if there is even enough for a card.  I bought this Stampin' Up sentiment set quite a while back but have not taken much time to experiment.  I thought this occasion was the perfect time to see what I could come up with.  I think the results are great!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Tea Time Thoughts

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another lovely 'thinking of you' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Very Vanilla.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on an orange of unknown origin, more Very Vanilla, and Early Espresso.  The sentiment is Woodware Wheat stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla.  The brad embellishments are of unknown origin.

A pile of books and a pot of tea are rather appropriate for a long confinement.  It seemed the perfect paper for a 'thinking of you' card.  I've used this paper a couple of times for other cards and have never been disappointed in the results.  The colours are lovely with lots of options of coordinating.  I chose a tangerine orange, vanilla and dark brown.  I know exactly to whom I will send this card and I hope it will make her smile.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Puppy Love

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another really cute top note critter card.

The card base was cut from a dark grey Bazzill with the Sizzix/Stampin' Up Top Note die.  The remaining pieces were cut from a variety of Recollections, Bazzill and unknown scraps using various paper punches and dies.

cased this card from blogger Laura Lipe (Smiles, Laura) whose adorable cards I found on Pinterest.  I was so happy with yesterday's cat card I just couldn't resist trying a dog card.  It's just as adorable!  As I mentioned yesterday, the options with this card are endless in terms of colours and shapes.  I stuck pretty close to the original.  I'm so thrilled with the results and I'm sure the young boy who will be receiving it will be thrilled!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Cat Love

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a fun card that I crafted for the children of a girlfriend.

The card base was cut from a grey Recollections with the Sizzix/Stampin' Up Top Note die.  The remaining pieces were cut from a variety of Recollections, Bazzill and unknown scraps using various paper punches and dies.

I have to give a shout out to blogger Laura Lipe (Smiles, Laura) who I cased to craft this really cute cat card.  This is my second attempt at a 'punch art' cat card.  I consider the first attempt to be a learning experience!  The options with this card are endless in terms of colours.  I'm so thrilled with the results and I can't wait to get it in the mail!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Delightful Daisies

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another lovely daisy card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a red Bazzill and Recollections Black. The sentiment is Creative Expressions Amazing Sentiments stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more black.  The card is highlighted with Echo Park Have Faith enamel dots.

I just love this retro daisy paper!  I used it for a wonderful birthday card a few months ago.  It's such happy paper, I couldn't resist making an 'on my mind' card.  The hints of black just make the paper pop even more!  I was so thrilled to find these yellow enamel dots that mimic the centers of the daisies.  I'm as pleased with this card as I was with the birthday card.  I've got just enough paper left to craft another daisy card at some point so stay tuned!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Delightful Daisy Bouquets

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a lovely 'especially for you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a Recollections yellow and a navy Bazzill.  The sentiment is Creative Expressions More Scribbled Sentiments stamped in Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim on more Recollections white.  The card is highlighted with White Opal Liquid Pearls.

I absolutely love these daisy bouquets.  The paper evokes a French Provence feeling with the blue and yellow colour combination.  Of course given the style, I chose to use blue and yellow for the layers.  I'm quite happy placing the sentiment on the diagonal and have used that layout quite often the last little while.  I'm not certain how pleased I am with the placement of the Liquid Pearl dots but it's not the worst I've ever done.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Fanciful Butterflies

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a colourful butterfly card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Calypso Coral.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a blue Bazzill and a white of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Just Rite Large Fancy Sentiments stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Recollections White and layered on more blue and Calypso Coral.  The butterfly brad is from Creative Expressions.

I fell in love with this scrap of butterfly paper the moment I found it.  I trimmed this piece carefully so I could get two cards out of the piece I found.  I was thrilled to find this particular sentiment, 'Just Because' seems appropriate right now.  I thought of adding a flat bow to the top of the oval but that needed to happen before I glued everything together.  I used this lovely butterfly brad instead!  Next time, it will be a bow.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Subtle Love

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a wonderful 'love you' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Sahara Sand.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Whisper White and a light olive Bazzill.  The sentiment is Avery Elle Oh Happy Day stamped in Altenew Lava Rock and layered on more light olive, Whisper White and Sahara Sand.  The embellishments are Eyelet Outlet Enamel Dots.

This photo doesn't do justice to the finished card.  It's a lovely, fresh card.  The printed paper has two silhouetted butterflies in the same shade of grey as the card base.  I used another banner to anchor the sentiment, this time using two layers.  It's a great result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Spring Thoughts

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another lovely spring inspired floral card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Pistachio Pudding.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a dark pink and a dark green Bazzill.  The sentiment is My Favorite Things Brushstroke Expressions stamped in Close To My Heart Ponderosa Pine on Recollections Vanilla.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Rhinestone Flowers highlighted with Fruit Punch Stickles.

I think this is a wonderful piece of printed paper!  The colours are beautiful and I really love the watercolour style.  It inspired the sentiment choice.  I couldn't resist the banner embellishments and though the flowers rhinestones worked perfectly.  This is a layout I've used often over the last while as I just can't resist these mini banners which are perfect for using embellishments.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Inked Hello

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a lovely hello card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Soft Suede.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a light pink and a white of unknown origin.  The sentiment is from Wish stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more light pink.

I really like this simple card.  The printed paper is awesome!  This row of fancy fountain pens is just wonderful.  The hints of pink are perfect with the medium brown, a colour combination I just can't resist.  I think the flowing sentiment really suits the 'fountain pen' images.  The theme makes for a great card for a letter writer (or card maker).  It's a better result than I had envisioned.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Thoughts

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a cheerful thinking of you card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Barely Banana.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Always Artichoke and a Recollections yellow.  The sentiment is from Wish stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White.  The card is highlighted with Xmas Red and Diamond Stickles.

I love this cheerful floral paper.  The colours are wonderful!  It wasn't too difficult to choose it for a thinking of you card.  I originally intended to adhere the banner on the vertical but after playing around with the layout, the horizontal banner just had more appeal.  I love the tiny heart on the sentiment as it is perfect for a titch of red Stickles.  It's a great result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

I love this card!  The printed paper is absolutely lovely with all the colours I favor.  When highlighted with silver Stickles, it's awesome!  I was thrilled to find this silver butterfly in my stash.  I have an entire drawer of butterfly embellishments and some times forget what I've got so end up delighted with a find!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Simple Cattails

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another 'thinking of you' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Always Artichoke.  The printed paper is The Paper Loft "Back Country" Creek Bank layered on Soft Suede and an ivory of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Creative Expressions Petite Scribbled Sentiments "Everyday" stamped in Soft Suede and layered on more Soft Suede and Always Artichoke.  The embellishments are Recollections Cork Dots.

I absolutely love this cattail paper.  It's so simple and natural.  I trimmed it carefully so as not to lose much of the image.  The sentiment is in the design sweet spot.  I played with my paper punches to find workable layers for the sentiment.  Outside the two cork dots, I didn't feel the need to add any extra embellishment.  It's a great result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
