A Week of Thanks - Sunday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is the last of the 'thank you' cards in this series.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry.  The embellishments are Dress It Up! Sangria Flats.

I couldn't resist crafting a pair of these cards in these warms colours.  I think I've had the Pumpkin Pie colour since I started crafting cards.  I was thrilled to find these lovely flower embellishments in my stash.  They're not a perfect colour match but they don't clash terribly either.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Saturday

Hello everyone,

Today's pair of 'thank you' cards are more feminine.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler and Rose Red.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Rose Red on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Rose Red.  The embellishments are Forever In Time Jeweled Gems.

I just love this pair!  Cherry Cobbler has been a favourite colour ever since it was released.  I wanted to include a pink card in this series and I though Rose Red was a great, 'rich' option.  Once again I adhered the square jewels on an angle to mimic the tails of the banners.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Friday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great pair of 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Orchid Opulence and Lucky Limeade.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Orchid Opulence and Lucky Limeade on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Orchid Opulence and Lucky Limeade.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Sparkles.

It always amazes me that each card turns out so differently even when the same elements are used.  I love this pair!

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Thursday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another pair of great 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Night of Navy and Tempting Turquoise.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Night of Navy and Tempting Turquoise on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Night of Navy and Tempting Turquoise.  The embellishments are EK Success Silver Studs.

These are a pair of more masculine cards.  I love the shades of blue.  I chose square silver studs, placed on an angle to mimic the banner.  Of course, I'm so happy with this layout that I couldn't resist repeating in all these great colours.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Wednesday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another pair of wonderful 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Pacific Point and Taken With Teal.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Pacific Point and Taken With Teal on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Pacific Point and Taken With Teal.  The embellishments are Eyelet Outlet with enamel dots.

These are perfect neutral cards.  I wouldn't assume that all personal support workers are women and I'm sure the 'surge' workers helping in our local residences include men so I wanted my neighbor to have at least some neutral cards to hand out.  This set of 'thank you' cards has a very straightforward layout and once all the elements are organized, they pull together easily.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Tuesday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great pair of 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Blackberry Bliss and Elegant Eggplant.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Blackberry Bliss and Elegant Eggplant. on Whisper White and layered on a banners of Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss and Elegant Eggplant..  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Pearl Opaques.

I've been a big fan of Blackberry Bliss ever since it was released.  I don't think I've ever used it where it hasn't turned out beautifully!  I love the classiness of Elegant Eggplant and I used it as a more neutral card, but it just doesn't top Blackberry Bliss.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Monday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a pair of great 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow.  The embellishments are Pebbles White Candy Dots.

I was so pleased with this card, posted yesterday, that I decided I'd craft a few more in different colours.  The options are endless.  I'm leaning heavily (if not all together) on Stampin' Up because I've got both the inks and papers. My plan is to post a pair in different colours every day this week.  I absolutely love the results so far and can't wait to see the rest.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Golden Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a more formal 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed in detail gold embossing powder.  The sentiment panel is layered on two gold paper scraps of unknown origin.  The embellishments are Toga gold pearls.

As soon as I started this series of 'thank you' cards for my girlfriend I knew I'd use this stamp.  I love the different languages and fonts.  Though it looks sophisticated, this is actually a very quick and easy card that came together in no time at all.  As I write this post, I'm imagining it in multiple colours like the earlier bold 'Thanks' cards.  I may not be as completely finished with this series as I thought!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Rainbow Thanks

Good morning everyone,

Today's post is another cheerful 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Coastal Cabana and a white of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Thank You Tree stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Recollections White and layered on Stampin' Up Daffodil Delight.  The bird is and Eyelet Outlet brad.

Every card I've made with this paper I've loved!  The diagonal stripes are great but it's the colours that really appeal.  I've not used this sentiment/image stamp in quite a while and it's wonderful on this card.  I debated placing jewels for the stem but when I did a dry run, it just looked weird.  I think this bird works so much better and is more apropos for this series of cards.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Sunny Thank You

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a bright and happy 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Crushed Curry.  The sentiment is Recollections stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Recollections White and layered on more Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight.  The ribbon is from Michael's.

I thought this paper was perfect for a 'thank you' card.  It's so bright and cheerful!  I don't always find yellow an easy colour with which to work but this was pretty easy.  The layout is very simple.  The most difficult aspect was finding the right shade of solid yellow with which to coordinate.  A great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Garden Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a lovely 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Colorbök Watercolor Rainbow.  The sentiment is Penny Black Thanks, Thanks stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Recollections White and layered on more Colorbök Watercolor Rainbow.  The embellishments are Crafts rhinestone stickers.

This is a lovely piece of printed paper.  I love how the line images coordinate with the simple font of the sentiment.  I used different colours of embellishments which turned out better than I thought.  This is a very straightforward layout, one that I use often.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Bold Thanks Finale

Hello everyone,

Today's post is the last three bold 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Recollections White.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Another Thank You stamped in Altenew Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Desert Night, Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, Vineyard Berry, Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious and Razzleberry.

I'm done!  I've used all the Altenew ink families that I considered appropriate for these thank you cards.  I didn't feel the brown and grey shades would make cheerful enough cards for the long-term care workers who will receive these beauties.  This has been such a fun series!  I'm not one to do repeat cards but these are pretty amazing if I do say so myself!

I hope you enjoy these cards, and this series, and come back to SPI again soon.

I love, love, love these cards!

Hello everyone,

The card base are Recollections White and Vanilla.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Another Thank You stamped in Altenew Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, Emerald, Sea Breeze, Tide Blue, Starlight, Frosty Pink, Coral Berry and Grapevine.

I'm still loving this card!  There hasn't yet been a colour I've tried that didn't thrill me!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Even More Bold Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's post are three more 'thank you' cards using the Stampin' Up bold thank you stamp.

The card bases are Recollections Vanilla and White.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Another Thank You stamped in Altenew Minty Mint, Sweet Leaf, Hunter Green, Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Honey Drizzle, Sunkissed, Orange Cream and Firebrick.

I am absolutely in love with this card!  I've never been one to repeat cards but I just can't see to help myself with this one.  It's amazing!  I've taken advantage to play with all the Altenew inks in my stash.  There is one aspect to this card that I'm not thrilled about however, I've had some bleed through of the sentiment on the inside.  It's not a deal breaker but I'd make sure to use heavier card stock the next time around.  I'll be posting two more sets of three cards over the next few days.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Fancy Floral

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a very pretty 'thank you' card.

The card base is a white Bazzill.  The printed paper is Marianne Design Pretty Papers layered on a grey Recollections.  The sentiment is Altenew Halftone Thanks die cut from Close To My Heart Blush and stamped in Altenew Lava Rock on Recollections White.  The embellishments are Recollections faux pearl stickers.

I started working on this card last week end but for some reason, it just wasn't coming together.  I went back to it the other night and it just made itself.  Some times, stepping away is the right choice.  It took me a while to find the proper shade of pink for this sentiment which is actually much more peachy than pink.  I love having the rest of the sentiment tucked under the die cut.  I'm even quite pleased with the pearl placement!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Bold Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a trio of 'thank you' cards.

The card base is Recollections White.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Another Thank You stamped in Altenew Galactic Stream, Aqualicious, Dew Drops, Midnight Violet, Lavender Fields, Soft Lilac, Bamboo, Parrot and Moss.

I got the idea for these cards as I was posting this card yesterday.  After a couple of false starts, the results are even better than I'd imagined.  I decided not to add any embellishments because the sentiment is more than enough!  I used my MISTI, adjusting the card base up and down before stamping.  I used three different tones from the same Altenew ink colour group.  I did end up stamping the dark shade a few times so it would be better defined.  I'm so happy with these cards, I'm going to do them in a few more colours!

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Bold Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a lovely clean and simple 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Another Thank You stamped in Altenew Ruby Red and Jet Black.  The embellishments are Recollections rhinestone stickers.

I love crafting cards with this big, bold sentiment!  It never fails to result in an awesome 'thank you' card.  I used my MISTI, inking and stamping multiple times to ensure full coverage.  Shockingly, I even love the embellishment placement.  As I'm typing this post, I just had an interesting idea for another card using this same stamp.  Stay tuned!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Floral Thank You

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a rather cheerful 'thank you' card.

The card base is a white Bazzill.  The image is Altenew Frosted Garden heat embossed in white on Recollections Red.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Another Thank You stamped in Altenew Ruby Red on Recollections White and layered on more red.  The embellishment is also Recollections.

Given the amount of cards I hope to craft, I plan to keep them fairly simple.  In this case, I heat embossed in white so the flowers would pop against the white background.  I adhered the image off the card base to anchor the image because I didn't want it to be 'floating'.  I'm pretty pleased with the result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Red Cross Rocks

Hello everyone,

Today's post is three nearly identical appreciation cards.

The card base is a white Bazzill.  The image is Bazzill Red Devil adhered to Recollections White.  The sentiment is Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings stamped in Altenew Jet Black.  The image/sentiment panel is layered on more Red Devil.

As soon as my girlfriend asked for some thank you cards I had this idea of replicating the 'red cross'.  I love the results!  These cards turned out even better than I'd pictured!  There are so simple.  I don't have a cross die cut or punch but this is a pretty easy shape create.  I used two 1/2" pieces cut into 2" lengths.  I used the same red for the layer.  The sentiments are from a set I've had for years and don't pull out often enough.  I suspect I'll use them a fair bit for these thank you cards as they really convey the perfect message!

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Dotted Thank You

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a great 'thank you' card.

The card base is of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Another Thank You stamped in Altenew Ruby Red on Recollections White and layered on a Recollections Red.  The image is Stampin' Up Papillon Potpourri also stamped in Altenew Ruby Red on Recollections White.

A card making girlfriend works in a long-term residence and is working long and crazy hours.  She has put a call out for thank you card to give to their employees and surge staff from a nearby hospital.  I couldn't help but join the effort!  This card base is pre-printed but works perfectly for this series.  I thought this butterfly image worked well with the polka dots.  A very simple and effective thank you card!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Mother's Day

Hello everyone,

Today's post is the card I crafted for my mother.

The card base is a red Bazzill.  The image is Art Impressions Strawberry stamped in Tombow 177 and 847 on Recollections White.  The sentiment is Gina Marie All Seasons stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Recollections White.  The image and sentiment are layered on a dark green Bazzill, more red Bazzill and a white of unknown origin.

I have been so focused on crafting 'pandemic' cards lately that I almost completely forgot about Mother's Day today.  It would have been disastrous had I not gotten it together last weekend.  My mother loves strawberries and I've made a variety of strawberry cards for her over the years.  This stamp was bought years ago with her in mind.  It is a favourite stamp because it's really easy to colour with markers or watercolour crayons.  I love the layers that make the berry pop!  It's a simple card but so effective!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Just Dance

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a lovely card I crafted to send to a girlfriend.

The card base is Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay.  The printed paper is Stampin' Up Lily Impressions layered on a white of unknown origin and Blackberry Bliss.  The image and sentiment are from Wish stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Whisper White.  The image was painted with LuminArte Blue Zircon and Black Cherry Twinkling H2Os.  The sentiment was layered on more Bermuda Bay.  The embellishments are TPC Studio Heartfelt Travel jewels.

I borrowed this set (which looks very similar to a Stampin' Up set) from a girlfriend a while back and hadn't spent much time experimenting.  I quite love the results.  I was hesitant because this is certainly outside my comfort zone!  Keeping the painting simple and the layout straightforward helped make crafting this card less stressful.  I'm thrilled with the embellishment placement!  How come that doesn't happen every time!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon!

A Panda Hello

Hello everyone,

Today post is a bright and cheerful 'hello' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is an origami paper of unknown origin layered on a gold also of unknown origin.  The image is Local King Rubber Stamps Pandas - 4 stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Recollections White and layered on more gold.  The sentiment is Gina K Pleasant Plurals stamped in Altenew Heart Beat.  The ribbon is American Crafts.  The butterfly brad is Creative Impressions.

This was the first panda image I stamped last weekend.  I love those expressive eyes!  Before trimming the panel, I made certain there was enough room for a simple sentiment.  I've often used origami paper for Asian-style cards.  I love the warm reds in this particular piece.  The hints of gold made it easy to coordinate.  I hadn't originally planned to add a ribbon but like how it balances out the image.  I wish I'd had a panda brad!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Panda For You

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a great 'for you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The images are Local King Rubber Stamps stamped in Altenew Jet Black and Parrot on Recollections White.  The image panel is layered on Recollections Black, Stampin' Up Lemon Lime Twist and a medium green Bazzill.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Itty Bitty Banners stamped in Altenew Jet Black on Recollections White and cut with the coordinating die.

If you read yesterday's post, you'll know that I had an adventure in crafting panda cards.  This card came together after I had rejected the original panda image.  I realized that the panda images in this set would be pretty easy to cut out and use for masking.  I really wanted to have the bamboo stalk behind the panda.  I can't believe I hadn't done this before!  Add a couple of coordinating layers and a fabulous card was born!  It was worth the initial angst.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Little Panda Wishes

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a birthday card I crafted for my daughter.

The card base is Recollections White.  The bamboo stem images are Local King Rubber Stamps Panda Bear 4, stamped in Altenew Parrot, Olive and Moss on Recollections White and layered on a dark and medium green Bazzill, and Close To My Heart Citrus Leaf.  The panda images are Stamp Magik stamped in Altenew Jet Black.  The sentiment is Rubbernecker Happy Birthday also stamped in Altenew Jet Black.  The card is highlighted with Lime Green Stickles.

The more I worked on this card, the more it changed.  Thank goodness I have a wide selection of panda bear stamps!  The multiple iterations have also resulted in a few other panda cards being crafted.  I wish I'd thought of adding the three little pandas before I'd adhered the panels together.  I think they would have looked much better had they been stamped off the edge.  Hindsight!!!!!!  I'm still quite happy with the results and I know my daughter will love this card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Fabulously Feathered

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a great all purpose card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Whisper White.  The printed paper is Stampin' Up Birds of a Feather layered on Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo.  The Island Indigo layered was stamped with a Michael's feather stamp and heat embossed with Fun Stamps peacock glitter embossing powder.  The sentiment is Lizzie Anne Say It In Script stamped in Altenew Galactic Stream on Whisper White and layered on more Summer Starfruit.  The printed paper is highlighted with Diamond Stickles

My neighbor works at a long-term care center and is having a rough go of things, to say the least.  She is always cheerful and smiling so I thought this card word be perfect for her.  I love all the colours in this designer series paper and have used it very sparingly over the years.  I love the heat embossed feathers on the bottom layer, they work perfectly with the feathers in the printed paper.  I hope this card makes her smile!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Colourful Thoughts

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a colourful 'thinking of you' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Very Vanilla.  The printed paper if of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay and More Mustard.  The images are cut from Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade, Really Rust and Bermuda Bay with the Sizzix Thinlits Wildflower Stems #1.  The sentiment is Elizabeth Craft Designs Sentiments 1 - Celebration stamped in Stampin' Up Soft Suede on Very Vanilla and layered on more Bermuda Bay and More Mustard.

This card couldn't have been any easier to craft.  It's a rather tall card base so I took advantage of using a long, skinny die cut for the leaves which are anchored by the sentiment panel.  The font of the sentiment is rather simple but works really well with the images on the printed paper.  The colours and the shape of the leaves were also inspired from the printed paper.  This is a card that is absolutely worth repeating!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Little Birdie

Hello everyone,

Today's card is a wonderful 'hello' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Very Vanilla.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Close To My Heart Bamboo and Stampin' Up Soft Suede.  The image is Altenew Wild Hibiscus stamped in Altenew Rouge on Very Vanilla and cut with the coordinating die.  The leaves/branches were cut from more Bamboo and Soft Suede with the Sizzix/Stampin' Up Botanical Tags Thinlits die.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Itty Bitty Greetings stamped in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla.

I had a particular girlfriend in mind when I crafted this card.  She has a real love of nature and appreciates 'cute' so this paper was perfect for her card!  I love the paper and used the die cut elements to mimic the background.  This is a very simple layout with the die cuts placed in the design 'sweet spot'.  It's a great result which I'm sure my girlfriend will appreciate!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Simple Daisies

Hello everyone,

I completely forgot to post a card yesterday!  Confinement is really messing with my days!

Today's post (which should have been yesterday's) is a great daisy 'thinking of you' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Whisper White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Not Quite Navy, Close To My Heart Honey and a white of unknown origin.  The sentiment is My Favorite Things Brushstroke Expressions stamped in Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim on Whisper White and layered on more Not Quite Navy.  The flowers were cut with a Bosskut Wildflower Cutouts die from Whisper White and Honey, and were highlighted with Yellow Stickles.

A pandemic is the perfect time for cheerful cards and this one fits the bill perfectly!  I've used some of the paper before and just love the results.  I was trying to mimic the paper with the flower embellishment, dusting off a die that hadn't seen the light of day in a long time.  I think it turned out pretty well.  I highly suggest Yellow Stickles as a staple in anyone's stash.  It's adds a great touch of glitter and the colour is just fantastic!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
