A Fancy Trio

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a lovely trio of 'birthday' cards.

The card bases are The Paper Studio and Recollections Black.  The printed papers are of unknown origin layered on Recollections Black and Stampin’ Up Ruby Red.  The sentiments are Inkadinkado Calligraphy Celebration stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and Rubber Stampede Elegant Happy Birthday also stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  The embellishments are Crafts Rhinestones.

I love this trio of fancy cards.  The printed paper is really lent to stamping the sentiment without having to use a separate panel.  The sentiment panel on the middle card actually covers up a bad impression.  There are no second chances when you stamp right on the printed paper.  I think bling placement on all three cards worked really well as it's not over the top, too close or too far apart.  I'll take these wonderful results!

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Heartfelt Valentine

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is the Valentine I crafted for my daughter's boyfriend.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla Linen Texture cardstock.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Recollections Black.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Happy Days stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and layered on an unknown dark pink and more Recollections Black.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Enamel Hearts.

We're still getting to know my daughter's boyfriend so I didn't want his card to be too mushy or frou frou.  I think this fits the bill extremely well.  It's uses a simple printed paper and a sentiment with a somewhat funky font.  The embellishments replicate the cinnamon heart candies.  The black layers make it just a wee bit less feminine.  It's a great result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Arched Thank You

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a bit of a more formal 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The printed paper is BasicGrey Oxford layered on Stampin' Up Bravo Burgundy.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Expressions stamped in Bravo Burgundy on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more Bravo Burgundy.  The mini gold brads are of unknown origin.

I've always found this piece of printed paper so very striking.  I love the arches and the colours.  It is a little on the large size in terms of scale but it's not terrible as there is no real 'blank' space.  I could have coordinated with any of the colours but I quite like the burgundy.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Neon Thanks

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is Ella & Viv Paper Company "Modern Art" Mosaic layered on Stampin' Up Midnight Muse and Lemon Lime Twist.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thank You Words stamped in Close To My Heart Denim on Recollections White and layered on more Lemon Lime Twist and Midnight Muse banners.  The embellishments are Eyelet Outlet enamel dots.

I just love it when I find just the right coordinating elements in my stash.  All these different companies produced the perfect elements for this card.  I love the double horizontal banner underneath the sentiment.  I'm not usually a big fan of 'neon' but on this card, it's just awesome.  The bright green, navy and white are a fantastic colour combine.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Another Holiday Tree

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another beautiful tree Christmas card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Very Vanilla.  The image is Inkadinkado stamped in Stampin' Up Mossy Meadow on Very Vanilla, heat embossed with Close To My Heart Silver Pearl embossing powder and layered on more Mossy Meadow.  The sentiment is Frog's Whiskers stamped in Mossy Meadow.  The card is highlighted with Holly Stickles.

This is another tree stamp which I love to use when crafting Christmas cards.  It is beautiful even without embossing.  As with the image I used on Monday's card, the details are really exquisite.  I love using the Close To My Heart silver pearl embossing powder.  It is magical how it transforms an image.  I'm never quite sure how the colour will change but it's rare that I don't like the results.  I wish I'd managed a better job with the row of Stickle dots anchoring the sentiment, it's a little crooked and uneven but you really only get one chance.  I doubt anyone will complain.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Holy Night

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a very serene Christmas card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Very Vanilla.  The image is Inkadinkado stamped in Altenew Desert Night on Very Vanilla and layered on Midnight Muse.  The sentiment is Cornish Heritage Farms Christmas Expressions also stamped in Altenew Desert Night.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Bitty Sparkles.

I' love this image and it's one I use often when crafting Christmas cards.  It's a great size for a card and allows for great embellishments.  I've also found it excellent for heat embossing.  In this case, I added a sentiment but it truly doesn't need one.  It's a great result as usual.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Christmas Postcard

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another quick and easy Christmas card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Very Vanilla.  The image is Inkadinkado stamped in Stampin' Up Blackberry Bliss on Very Vanilla and layered on more Blackberry Bliss.

Fall is a time of year when I'm exceptionally busy and it's worse this year as I'm trying to prepare for Christmas well in advance.  That said, card making is currently at the very bottom of my 'to do' list.  I'm working on a very special and very large Christmas card project so I'm trying to craft as many quick and easy cards as possible while at the same time still getting beautiful results.  I'm grateful that my stash of large sentiment/image stamps is fairly decent because it's giving me a lot of options.  I particularly love this postcard image, especially in Blackberry Bliss.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Vintage Winter Scene

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a lovely vintage inspired Christmas card.

The card base is Recollections Vanilla.  The image is Inkadinkado stamped in Altenew Dark Night on Recollections Vanilla and layered on a metallic navy of unknown origin.  The image is highlighted with a Close To My Heart Bitty Sparkle.

I just love this vintage image!  It is perfect for crafting a quick and easy Christmas card!  I've used it before with different ink colours and love it every time.  It is another larger sized image and because I'm using a smaller card base, I had to trim it carefully to have enough space for a reveal.  It would be quite easy to add a bit of glitter to various elements of the image but I chose to only to add a single gem near the sentiment.  It's a great result which took no time at all to craft.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Great in Green

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a very pretty green sentiment-less card.

The card base is Close To My Heart Emerald.  The image is Inkadinkado stamped in Altenew Emerald on Recollections White, clear heat embossed and layered on more Emerald and a white of unknown origin.  The embellishments are Recollections Adhesive Faux Pearls.

This is a sweet little bird stamp.  It embosses really well.  I do love the two shades of Emerald that were cut from the same 12 x 12 sheet.  The contrast against the white is so striking and beautiful.  The six tiny pearls speak well to the dots in the image.  It's a really wonderful result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Fall Leaves and Acorns

Hello everyone,

Today's post is the last of the 'thank you' card commission I've been crafting.

The card base is Stampin' Up Bumble Bee.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Early Espresso and an orange of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Early Espresso on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more orange and Bumble Bee.

This one of the most beautiful pieces of autumn paper I found in my stash.  The colours are just wonderful and I love the water-colour painted style.  It was pretty easy to draw on the printed paper for coordinating solids.  This is a favourite 'thank you' sentiment stamp which I think I use just about every time I craft thank you cards.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Sunday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is the last of the 'thank you' cards in this series.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry.  The embellishments are Dress It Up! Sangria Flats.

I couldn't resist crafting a pair of these cards in these warms colours.  I think I've had the Pumpkin Pie colour since I started crafting cards.  I was thrilled to find these lovely flower embellishments in my stash.  They're not a perfect colour match but they don't clash terribly either.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Saturday

Hello everyone,

Today's pair of 'thank you' cards are more feminine.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler and Rose Red.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Rose Red on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Rose Red.  The embellishments are Forever In Time Jeweled Gems.

I just love this pair!  Cherry Cobbler has been a favourite colour ever since it was released.  I wanted to include a pink card in this series and I though Rose Red was a great, 'rich' option.  Once again I adhered the square jewels on an angle to mimic the tails of the banners.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Friday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great pair of 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Orchid Opulence and Lucky Limeade.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Orchid Opulence and Lucky Limeade on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Orchid Opulence and Lucky Limeade.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Sparkles.

It always amazes me that each card turns out so differently even when the same elements are used.  I love this pair!

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Thursday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another pair of great 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Night of Navy and Tempting Turquoise.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Night of Navy and Tempting Turquoise on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Night of Navy and Tempting Turquoise.  The embellishments are EK Success Silver Studs.

These are a pair of more masculine cards.  I love the shades of blue.  I chose square silver studs, placed on an angle to mimic the banner.  Of course, I'm so happy with this layout that I couldn't resist repeating in all these great colours.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Wednesday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another pair of wonderful 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Pacific Point and Taken With Teal.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Pacific Point and Taken With Teal on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Pacific Point and Taken With Teal.  The embellishments are Eyelet Outlet with enamel dots.

These are perfect neutral cards.  I wouldn't assume that all personal support workers are women and I'm sure the 'surge' workers helping in our local residences include men so I wanted my neighbor to have at least some neutral cards to hand out.  This set of 'thank you' cards has a very straightforward layout and once all the elements are organized, they pull together easily.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Tuesday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great pair of 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Blackberry Bliss and Elegant Eggplant.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Blackberry Bliss and Elegant Eggplant. on Whisper White and layered on a banners of Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss and Elegant Eggplant..  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Pearl Opaques.

I've been a big fan of Blackberry Bliss ever since it was released.  I don't think I've ever used it where it hasn't turned out beautifully!  I love the classiness of Elegant Eggplant and I used it as a more neutral card, but it just doesn't top Blackberry Bliss.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Week of Thanks - Monday

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a pair of great 'thank you' cards.

The card bases are Stampin' Up Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow on Whisper White and layered on banners of Whisper White, Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow.  The embellishments are Pebbles White Candy Dots.

I was so pleased with this card, posted yesterday, that I decided I'd craft a few more in different colours.  The options are endless.  I'm leaning heavily (if not all together) on Stampin' Up because I've got both the inks and papers. My plan is to post a pair in different colours every day this week.  I absolutely love the results so far and can't wait to see the rest.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Golden Thanks

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a more formal 'thank you' card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed in detail gold embossing powder.  The sentiment panel is layered on two gold paper scraps of unknown origin.  The embellishments are Toga gold pearls.

As soon as I started this series of 'thank you' cards for my girlfriend I knew I'd use this stamp.  I love the different languages and fonts.  Though it looks sophisticated, this is actually a very quick and easy card that came together in no time at all.  As I write this post, I'm imagining it in multiple colours like the earlier bold 'Thanks' cards.  I may not be as completely finished with this series as I thought!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Country Plaid

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great plaid Christmas card.

The card base is Recollections Kraft.  The printed paper is Simple Stories Merry & Bright layered on Close To My Heart Ponderosa Pine and Recollections Red. The sentiment is Inkadinkado stamped in Stampin' Up Early Espresso on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more Ponderosa Pine and red.  The sentiment is coloured with Tombow 158.  The card is highlighted with Candy Cane Stickles.

There is nothing like a plaid 'country' Christmas card.  I debated doing this 'country' style card for this commission but eventually decided that the variety would work.  He has to have at least one client for whom this would work.  The banner layout is a favourite and the little bit of colouring is something I can easily handle.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Pink Holidays

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a very pretty non-traditional Christmas card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry.  The image/sentiment is Inkadinkado Winter Trails stamped on Whisper White in Rich Razzleberry, clear heat embossed and layered on a shimmery pink of unknown origin.  The printed paper is BoBunny Carousel Christmas layered on more shimmery pink.  The card is highlighted with Petal Pink Liquid Pearls.

This is yet one more image/sentiment that I found in my leftover bin.  It was likely relegated to the leftovers because it ended up much more pink than I'd planned.  It works perfectly however with this great pink poinsettia printed paper which I likely didn't have when I originally stamped this element.  This very feminine Christmas card has hints of shine with the layering paper and heat embossing which just makes me happy.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
