Twinkling Holly

Hello everyone,

Today's card is another one of with an image that I painted weeks ago while playing with some Twinkling H2Os. I just had to see how it looked

The card base is Autumn Leaves. The background paper is Recollections, stamped with Annabelle Holly branch in VersaMark and clear heat embossed. The top layer is Denami Designs Holly Cluster stamped on Stampin' Up Very Vanilla and layered on Cherry Cobbler. All the images are painted with a variety of LuminArte Twinkling H2Os. The sentiment is Bonnidee Xmas Wording 3. The embellishments are Multicrafts Keepsake Memories.

How could I not love this card? All that holly just makes my heart sing! I love the Twinkling H2Os against the coloured paper. The colour is somewhat subtle but the shimmer is fabulous. I'm sure I'll craft an entire card with it because I'm really not getting tired of these paints.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

O Holy Night

Hello everyone,

Today's I've got a card which uses the final Stampin' Up Holy Triptych image which I stamped and painted weeks ago. I got rather side tracked by the Birthday Blitz cards.

The card base is from Recollections. The image, Stampin' Up Holy Triptych was stamped on Whisper White in Nick Bantock Charcoal Grey and clear heat embossed. It was painted with a variety of LuminArte Twinkling H2O paints. It is layered on Stampin' Up Old Olive and Pacific Point. The sentiment is Cornish Heritage Farms Christmas Expressions. The ribbon is Crafts. The embellishments are TPC Studio Holly Jolly jewels and mini jewels.

This is my favourite of the three Holy Triptych cards. I love the colours and the simple layout. I also think I painted this one the best.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Blitz 4

Hello everyone,

Today's is the last card in my Birthday Blitz. This card is for my husband. Generally, he is not a really particular kind of guy, he usually just goes with the flow. Except, when it comes to his beloved golf. He can be worse than a teenage girl in terms of his golf wear, gear, games, you name it! I have to admit, I really enable this obsession. I often enable him, given the pleasure he gets from this hobby. Of course, this certainly gives me a running theme for any cards I craft for him, including this one. Much of his gear is from a company called Mizuno and is a lovely cobalt blue, black and white.

The card base is from Autumn Leaves. The image is Inkadinkado, stamped in VersaFine and Stampin' Up Pacific Point. The three elements are layered on Stampin' Up Pacific Point and Basic Black. The sentiment, also from Stampin' Up, is it's Your Birthday.

I love this card! It is absolutely perfect and I know he'll not only 'get' the colours but he'll love it! This is a super simple card but the striking colours and layout make it very effect. It really didn't need any glitz or embellishments, although I could have easily added some. It actually gives me an idea, or two, or three.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gisèle

PS - The birthday surprise from one of his friends, which I post about here, was a huge success. He enjoyed a spectacular lobster sandwich, one of his favourites.

Purple Wedding

Hello everyone,

I'm not super sure about today's card. It's for a wedding that my father's home care helper is going to attend.

The background paper is Autumn Leaves Emily. The sentiment is Inkadinkado heat embossed with Close To My Heart black embossing powder on watercolour paper and layered on a shimmery paper of unknown origin. The flowers are Stampin' Up Playful Petals. The watercolour paper and flowers were painted with LuminArte English Lavender, Icy Iris, Razzleberry, Royal Orchid, Sweet Thistle, Wild Plum and Wisteria Twinkling H2Os. The embellishments are Crafts Gem Chic, Close To My Heart Bitty Bits and Multicrafts Bridal Accents.

This is a really, really purple card. I love all the different shades, I'm just not convinced how well they work together. Maybe I needed a little more white to balance things out. The shimmer from the Twinkling H2Os is wonderful and that is certainly not captured in the photo.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Blitz 3

Hello everyone,

Today's card is for my eldest sister. Scarily, her and I have remarkably similar taste so I'm confident that if I love her card, so will she.

The background paper is BasicGrey Out of Print Mish Mash layered on Recollections and Close To My Heart Twilight. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Curly Cute stamped in Nick Bantock Deep Turquoise on Whisper White and layered on more Twilight. The flower is a Peel Off's Large Flower outline sticker affixed to a piece of Twilight covered in Glitter Ritz Warm Transparent Micro Fine Glitter. The ribbon is Sheer Creations from Michaels. The pearls are K&Company Adhesive Gems.

I love this card. Although I can find working with green a challenge, the colour variations of this BasicGrey paper made it easy. I love this glittering technique. It is a favourite because every time I use it, it works beautifully. The one thing for which I had to exercise caution was to not use too many different techniques.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Bliz 2

Hello everyone,

Today's card is for my sister-in-law. She is extremely creative, with an exceptional eye for colour.

The background paper is BasicGrey Kioshi layered on Stampin' Up Almost Amethyst. The embossed layer is Very Vanilla painted with LuminArte Golden Opal and Playful Peony Twinkling H2Os, dry embossed with Crafts Concepts Flutterby and layered on Mellow Moss. The sentiment is Gina K Fanciful Tags stamped in Mellow Moss on Very Vanilla and layered on Mellow Moss. The ribbon is Offray. The embellishments are K&Company Adhesive Gems.

I love everything about this card except for the layout. It is too left-side heavy. Once I embossed the strip of painted Very Vanilla, I found placement a challenge. The elements just seemed to gather on the left. Even though I'm likely being too picky, I'm pretty confident my sister-in-law will love this card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Blitz 1

Hello everyone,

From mid-September through the first week of October nearly half of my extended family celebrate their birthdays. I'm blitzing birthday cards for the next couple of days.

The background paper is Crate Paper Blue Hill Collection Sky, layered on Stampin' Up Soft Suede and Pear Pizzaz, and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The image is Technique Tuesday Boho Buzz stamped in Soft Suede, clear heat embossed and painted with LuminArte Buttercup, Bashful Blue and Chiffon Pink Twinkling H2Os. The sentiment is Penny Black Special Time stamped in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla and layered on Groovy Guava. The embellishments are TPC Studio Wedding Silhouette mini jewels.

I love this card. I found this particular sheet of Crate Paper really appealing with its soft colours, paisley and peacocks. This particular card is for my mother-in-law who loves this particular colour palette.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Wedding Bliss

Hello everyone,

Today's card is for a colleague who is getting married next month. I've crafted many cards on her behalf including this thank you card which she gave to a friend who made her wedding jewelry.

The background paper is BasicGrey Marrakech layered on Stampin' Up Old Olive. The Inkadinkado sentiment was stamped on watercolour paper in Night of Navy and clear heat embossed after which the paper was painted with LuminArte Ginger Peach Twinkling H2Os. The navy layer is also watercolour paper painted with LuminArte True Blue, Rich Cobalt and China Black Twinkling H2Os. It is layer on Early Espresso. The entire card was highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The embellishments are TPC Studio Wedding Silhouette mini jewels.

I love this card. Orange and navy are certainly not traditional wedding colours but do they ever work lovely together. I love the slight shimmer of the Twinkling H2O paints as they add great richness to the card. I wasn't sure about the BasicGrey paper but I felt it had enough of a fall feel to work. In addition to the specific colours, this card had to have bling and glitter. Thank goodness for my favourite Clear Star pen.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Wedding Bliss

Hello everyone,

Today's card is for the daughter of a colleague who is getting married next month.

The card base is from Recollections. The coloured paper is Stampin' Up textured Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso and Really Rust. The Really Rust piece was dry embossed with QuicKutz Leaves and highlighted with LuminArte Ginger Peach and Deep Coral Twinkling H2Os. The sentiment is Inkadinkado stamped in Early Espresso on Recollections Pearlized Gold and highlighted with Ginger Peach Twinkling H2Os. The embellishments are Crystal Stickers Brown Mosaics. The ribbon is of unknown origin.

I think this is a great fall wedding card. It was rather fun to craft something so fallish for a wedding. The colours are a given and work together beautifully. I love how the Twinkling H2Os worked on the embossed leaves. It adds just that extra little touch.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Christmas Blessings

Hello everyone,

As I mentioned yesterday, I've been playing with LuminArte's Twinkling H2Os and having a great time with this medium. I really think the shimmer is what makes these paints so forgiving.

The background paper is Stampin' Up Glorious Green. The image, Stampin' Up Holy Triptych, is stamped on Whisper White, in Nick Bantock Charcoal Grey, clear heat embossed and coloured with a variety of LuminArte Twinkling H2Os. It is layered on a piece of textured copper paper of unknown origin and Basic Black. The ribbon is black Decorative Trim. The sentiment is Cornish Heritage Farms Christmas Expressions stamped in Color Box copper ink. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Mocha opaques.

I don't know if this is my favourite card but I certainly find it very compelling. I love this copper paper and will admit to hoarding it for the past couple of years because once it's gone, it's gone! I love this image, in fact, I love this entire stamp set and bought it even though I wasn't sure how I'd get around the colouring requirement. Enter the amazing Twinkling H2Os.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Christmas Blessings

Hello everyone,

I'm having a ton of fun with LuminArte's Twinkling H2Os.

The card base is Autumn Leaves. The image, Stampin' Up Holy Triptych, is stamped in black StazOn, clear heat embossed and painted with a variety of LuminArte Twinkling H2Os. It is layered on ANW Crestwood Starry Blue India Beadwork, the Paper Company translucent silver and brushed silver. The sentiment is Papertrey Ink Signature Christmas stamped in Nick Bantock Charcoal Grey. The embellishments are Recollections silver rhinestone stickers.

I'm not sure how I feel about this card. I don't hate it but it's not my favourite either. I think I need more practise with my painting. I'm glad I kept everthing pretty simple otherwise it could have gone over the top rather quickly.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Simple Thank You

Hello everyone,

Today's card, like yesterdays, was a Twinkling H2O experiment on a image that I've had stamped for a while.

The card base is from Recollections. The image is Impression Obsession Cattails, stamped in Stampin' Up Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, clear heat embossed and painted with a variety of Twinkling H2Os. It is layer on Early Espresso and Old Olive. The sentiment is Hero Arts Thank You Messages.

I was going to add some embellishments but after spending some time trying to figure out an appealing placement I decided maybe less was more and to just leave it as it. I think it works. The image really pops and the artistic font of the sentiment is lovely. Again, the painting isn't perfect and I didn't get the shading I would have like but I can certainly live with it. Maybe the sheen of the paints, which don't show up all that well in the photo, are what makes this medium so forgiving.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Holidays

Hello everyone,

I'm still playing with my new LuminArte H2Os and couldn't resist trying my hand at Christmas card.

The background paper is from Recollections which was embossed with Sizzix Holly & Berries texture plate and spritzed with Vanilla Smooch Spritz. The middle layers are Recollections Pearlized Gold and K&Company SW Glad Tidings. The image is Impression Obsession Candy Cane which was stamped in StazOn Black on Stampin' Up Very Vanilla and painted with LuminArte H2Os. The sentiment is My Sentiments Exactly Holiday Sentiments. The embellishments are Crystal Stickers Gold Pearls.

I really like this card. I couldn't resist picking up this stamp because of the holly. A very elegant image and it looks so great painted! This is actually a really simple card with a pretty basic sketch and lots of layers.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Get Well Soon

Hello everyone,

I've picked up a few more pots of LuminArte Twinkling H2Os and while experimenting, painted some images that I stamped months and months ago.

The background paper is Stampin' Up River Rock stamped with Heartfelt Creations Large Elegant Word Background. The image, Impression Obsession Fall Leaves, is stamped in Early Espresso, clear heat embossed and painted with a variety of LuminArte Twinkling H2Os. It is layered on textured Dusty Durango. The sentiment is Annabelle Stamps Sentimental Bluebells. The embellishments are Martha Stewart White dimensional mini pearls.

I love this card. I had stamped the image so long ago, but never did anything with it as I'm terrible at colouring. I'm convinced that Twinkling H2Os will change all that. This image is not as well done as my previous two cards. I didn't get the shading that I would have liked but practise will make perfect.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Rose

Hello everyone,

I so loved the wedding card I crafted yesterday that I cased it and made a birthday card.

The background paper is BasicGrey Capella layered on Close To My Heart Chocolate. The image, Stampin' Up Both Way Blossoms, is stamped in Soft Suede on Whisper White, heat embossed with Close To My Heart Silver Pearl, coloured with LuminArte sage and chiffon pink Twinkling H2Os and layered on Stampin' Up Crumb Cake. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Perfectly Penned, stamped in Soft Suede on Whisper White and layered on Chocolate. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Mocha Opaques.

I love this card and much as yesterday's. The papers and colours are a little different but the layout and style is virtally the same. For the first time, it was really hard to give away yesterday's card and I feel somewhat the same about this card even though I could make as many as my little heart desires.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Wedding Rose

Hello everyone,

I love making cards! I especially love making cards when they turn out as beautifully as today's. A colleague requested a special wedding card and the only direction she first gave me was that it was an older couple, getting married on a boat and dark forest green. I started working on it last night, but it was a disaster. Today I asked my colleague for a few more details about the couple and their wedding and I'm glad I did because this card practically made itself.

The background paper is atd Story of Us. The image, Stampin' Up Both Way Blossoms, is stamped in Soft Suede, on Very Vanilla and heat embossed with Close To My Heart Silver Pearl. It is coloured with LuminArte sage and chiffon pink Twinkling H2Os. The sentiment is Penny Black Full of Life. The image and sentiment are layered on shimmery gold of unknown origin and Always Artichoke. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Pearl Opaques.

I think this is one of the most beautiful cards I've made in a long time. I love the colours, the image, the sentiment, the layout - I could go on and on. I'm pretty confident that my colleague, and hopefully the bride and groom as well, will love this card as much as I do.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Blue Birthday Bling

Hello everyone,

Today's card was requested by a colleague. She specifically requested blue, silver and bling. I delivered!

The background paper is Canford Silver layered on Close To My Heart Moonstruck. The printed layer is Impression Obsession Cover-A-Card Large Paisley stamped in Nick Bantock Prussian Blue on Stampin' Up Whisper White and layered with more Moonstruck and Whisper White. The image is Stampin' Up Paisley Petals. The sentiment is Hero Arts Thoughtful Messages. The entire card is highlighted with Sakura's Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The embellishments are TPC Studio Holly Jolly Mini Jewels.

I love this card! I think blue, white and silver is a great combination and I'm pretty confident that my colleague will love this card. The Cover-A-Card stamp worked perfectly thanks in part to the Impression Obsession Mega Mount. It is a large acrylic block that rocks so really large stamps stamp more easily. Well worth the investment if you're going to use the Cover-A-Card stamp.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Sparkling Birthday

Hello everyone,

Today's card was commissioned by the same colleague who asked me for yesterday's card and the next two cards. We only recently hooked up after our holidays and I think she had a list going.

The background paper is from Recollections. The focal layer is Stampin' Up Shimmery White. All the images are Stampin' Up Delicate Doilies stamped in Real Red. The sentiment is Gina K Fanciful Tags. The ribbon is Offray. The embellishments are EK Success Shimmering Silver Dots.

I think this is a pretty good card especially when red and bling were specifically requested. You have to agree that red and white is a pretty great combination. I love this particular stamp set. It will lend itself so well to bling and sparkle - my imagination runs wild with the possibilities.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Today's card was commissioned by one of my colleagues who needed a baby card.

The background paper is Stampin' Up Textured Melon Mambo. The printed paper is DCWV Nana's Kids layered on Stampin' Up Pink Pirouette. The sentiment is American Crafts Baby. The ribbon is Offray and the brads are Making Memories.

I love this bright, beautiful baby girl card. It is sweet and cheerful and perfect for a baby shower gift.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Butterfly Birthday

Hello everyone,

I love having time to play with new things. I finally caved and picked up some Twinkling H2O paints. I've been looking at them for almost a year but because I'm not a colourer, nor a painter, I was leary. I've no regrets though, I think these paints will turn me around.

The background is Stampin' Up Soft Suede dry embossed with Sizzix Pattern 1 texture plate. The image is Impression Obsession Embroidered Butterfly, stamped in Soft Suede, heat embossed clear and painted with LuminArte Twinkling H2O paints (kit 1256). The sentiment is Gina K Garden Silhouettes. The embellishments are Martha Stewart white mini pearls.

I love, love, love these butterflies. Who knew I could actually paint like this? The paints were really wonderful to work with. I imagine much like regular watercolour paints but with that little bit of shimmer that isn't done justice by this photo. I had some fun with the layout too. I intended to use this practise/play piece much differently but ended up cutting away the upper right portion of paper.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Boy

Hello everyone,

My best friend's son just turned two. He's a sweet and active boy's boy.

The background paper is Stampin' Up Bashful Blue. The patterned paper is DCWV Nana's Kids. The train sticker is TPC Studio Transportation Chipboard Spinning Wheels. All the '2' stickers are K&Company Fun Alphabet Flip Pack.

I just love this card! I don't often have a chance to make little boy cards but this was a blast to craft. I hadn't planned on trains (I intended a backhoe card) but when I came across this paper, it had to be trains. This has to be some of sweetest boy paper I've ever come across.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Strangest Ever

Hello everyone,

I've the strangest card I've ever made for you today!

My husband's birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks and I'm sending him to PEI to visit his folks and to play many, many, many rounds of golf. One of his golf buddies, who supplies the best ever smoked meat sandwiches whenever they play, made a special request. He wanted me to craft a card with a smoked meat sandwich, which he is sending to my father-in-law, along with some $$, to treat my husband with lunch after his golf round on his actual birthday. The best part is that my husband has absolutely no idea whatsoever! It's going to be a really great surprise!

The image is from Dreamstime (via Google) and is layered on Stampin' Up Always Artichoke and More Mustard. The printed paper is DCWV Retro Stack and is layered on Always Artichoke. The sentiment is Stampin' Up It's Your Birthday, stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White. The brads are from Multicrafts.

Strangest card ever, but it's works exactly how my husband's golfing buddy intended. Now if the surprise works just as well, we'll get my husband good!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon!

PS - I'll let you know how it all works out.

Simple Sympathy

Hello everyone,

The father of a good friend recently passed away and I crafted her this card.

The paper is all Stampin' Up - Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy, Kraft and Very Vanilla. The Not Quite Navy element was textured with Sizzix Elegant Lines dry embossing folder. The image is Stampin' Up Faith in Nature. The sentiment is Gina K Fanciful Tags. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Licorice Opaques.

Notwithstanding its purpose, I really like this card. The colours work well together as does the layout. I'm sure this card will really speak to my girlfriend.

Please enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Anniversary

Hello everyone,

Not a sailboat in sight today! I've gotten somewhat behind on a few of my card orders so the next few days will be cards that have been commissioned. Today's is a very special anniversary card for my grandparents who've been married for over 65 years.

The background paper is Close To My Heart Indian Corn Blue stamped with Stampin' Up Floral Fillers and Inkadinkado Heart and heat embossed with Close To My Heart Silver Pearl. The silver paper is Recollections Foil punched with Martha Stewart's String Lace punch. The printed paper is atd Story of Us. The Inkadinkado sentiment is stamped in Nick Bantock Charcoal Grey on Very Vanilla and layered on more Indian Corn Blue. The embellishments are Martha Stewart mini pearls.

I love this card. It is perfect for my grandparents. The multiple elements betray the simplistic layout. It also has enough sparkle to make it fitting for such a great anniversary.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Message in the Sand

Hello everyone,

Today is the fifteenth and final card in the sailboat paper project. There is not a speck of the 12x12 sheet left. This was really inspiring paper which made for a great project.

The background paper is Stampin' Up Taken With Teal and Crushed Curry. The printed paper, Echo Park Paper Company Little Boy is layered on Soft Sky. The sentiment is Hero Arts Classic Messages. The lines in the Crushed Curry paper were made with a Scor-Pal and were highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

This is another card which requires some imagination to 'get it'. The boats are sailing in the ocean and the sentiment is in the sand. Again, another very simple card but I really didn't have much more than this little bit of paper left. It works though!

I hope you enjoyed the project and this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Stripes

Hello everyone,

Here is card fifteen and I think my very favourite of the entire project.

The background paper is Recollections layered on DCWV Textured Pastels. The patterned paper is Echo Park Paper Company Little Boy. The sentiment is Craft Lounge Friendly Flowers stamped in Close To My Heart Dutch Blue on Stampin' Up Whisper White.

I love this card! It strikes me as an ultra modern interpretation of boats riding waves one of which is a white capped - can you see it? The dotted paper is the backside of the sailboat paper. These are all leftover scraps of pieces I'd cut away for all the earlier cards. I was going to throw them away when this idea struck me. I'm rather proud of it because, at least in my mind, it really, really works.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Get Well Soon

Hello everyone,

Here is card thirteen.

The card base is from Recollections. The patterned paper, Echo Paper Paper Company Little Boy, is layered on Stampin' Up Night of Navy and textured Crushed Currey. The sentiment is Gina K Labeled With Love. The embellishments are from Multicrafts.

I love this super simple card. I have to say, after this many cards, the mojo is starting to lag so I'm rather glad I've moved to non-birthday cards because it's given me some umph to keep going. I think this is the perfect get well card for a guy or even an outdoor enthusiast. The simplicity of the layout and the minimal embellishments really works.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Sailboats and Sympathy

Hello everyone,

Here is card twelve!

The card base is from Recollections. The printed paper is Echo Park Paper Company Little Boy layered on textured Stampin' Up Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango. The sentiment is Verve Forever In Our Hearts stamped on Whisper White and layered on Early Espresso. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Mocha Opaques.

I think this is a great sympathy card. The colours are certainly unorthodox for a sympathy card but it works, especially with the sentiment. I'd have no problem giving this card to a male friend or colleague.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You

Hello everyone,

I'm presenting card eleven of the sailboat paper series. I've got three, possibly four cards worth of paper left. I'm amazed at how much one sheet of paper has stretched.

The solid papers are Stampin' Up Taken With Teal, Crushed Curry and Whisper White. The printed paper is Echo Park Paper Company Little Boy. The sentiments are Hero Arts Thank You Messages. The embellishments are clear Oregon Raindrops.

I decided it was time to make something besides a birthday card. I love the different thank yous. This was really easy as I just affixed the clear stamps to an acrylic block and stamped just once. I switched the words around for the second panel. This is another piece of sailboat paper from the diagonal piece with I used in the last couple of cards.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Hello everyone,

Today is card ten in my sailboat paper project.

The card base is from Recollections. The printed paper is Echo Paper Company Little Boy layered on Stampin' Up Real Red. The sentiment is Magenta. The hemp cord is from Stampin' Up. The brads are from Multicrafts.

I love this card. It took me a bit to figure out how to get the most out of the diagonal cut that I made for yesterday's card. I'm very happy with the results. I also had some fun with hemp and brads. It turned out great!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

On The Diagonal

Hello everyone,

I have the ninth card in the sailboat paper series for you today. I've had this card mulling around in my mind for a while.

The background paper is Stampin' Up Bashful Blue. The patterned paper is Echo Park Paper Company Little Boy. The horizontal strips are Stampin' Up Real Red, Night of Navy, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango and Wild Wasabi. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Four Square.

As I've said before there is something about sailboat and stripes that just work. I also think that applies to triangles and diagonals. I figure it is the sails. I really like this card. The execution was so much more difficult than I thought. It was a challenge to get everything even and it's still not perfect but I can live with it. I didn't add any embellishments or extras because I wanted the diagonal strips to say it all.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
