Happy Butterflies
Today's post is part of the series I'm crafting for my stash of good luck/best wishes/retirement cards.
The printed paper is Stampin' Up Comfort Cafe layered on Stampin' Up Pool Party, Soft Suede and Midnight Muse. The Pool Party layer was textured with Crafts Concepts Wings embossing folder and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The butterfly was die cut with Sizzix Bigz Beautiful Butterflies from Midnight Muse and textured with Crafts Concepts Wings embossing folder and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment is Avery Elle So Happy stamped in Close To My heart Outdoor Denim on Recollections Vanilla. The embellishments are K&Company "The Kiss" Gems.
I was in the mood to craft a happy card and I think this really fits the bill. I was cleaning up my craft area last night and I came across a pile of scraps from a one sheet wonder kit that I used for a Crop class a couple of years ago. I like this particular piece of Stampin' Up paper because it has a variety of colours that make it really nice to work with. There is a lot of texture with all the embossing and I probably overdid it with the butterfly but I found it a rather flat element otherwise. I can live with it!
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Polka Dot Butterflies
Today's card is meant to be a Pinterest case. It didn't quite work out how I intended.
The printed paper is Pink Paislee Bullseye layered on Stampin' Up Soft Sky. The top layer, more Soft Sky, was textured with Craft Concepts Butterfly Kisses embossing folder. The sentiment is Rubbernecker Best Wishes stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla. The embellishments are Recollections.
I've seen a multitude of punched cards on Pinterest lately that I find very appealing. Unfortunately this isn't exactly like the cards I was attempting to case. I wanted to punch a vertical row but for the life of me, couldn't figure out how to get it to work. I think I figured out where I went wrong and will give it another try. I think this is still a great card, these polka dots work really well with this butterfly punch, so there are no regrets!
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Girly Girl VII & VIII
I've cards seven and eight in this latest one sheet wonder card series.
The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on textured Stampin' Up Melon Mambo. The sentiment is Stamp Barn. The embellishments are Autumn Leaves Rhinestone. The printed paper is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.
The printed paper is K&Company Butterfly Flat Paper layered on textured Stampin' Up Melon Mambo and Gable Green textured with Crafts Concepts Wings. The sentiment is Bonnidee French Wording #1 stamped in Melon Mambo. The embellishments are Stampin' Up Basic Jewels. The entire card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.
I really love the first card. It is so very, very simple and the sentiment is totally awesome. I'm not so fussy on the second card. I love the embossing and the layers but the triangles don't do a thing for me. I tried to jazz them up with the jewels but it just doesn't work.
I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

A Blessing
Today's card is for a very, very good friend. I picked her up a little something on my recent travel and wanted to craft her a special card to go with it.
The patterned paper is Pink Paislee Indigo Bleu Denim and Jacquard. The butterfly is a Spellbinders Wonderful Wings which was cut from a piece of watercolour paper that was painted with LuminArte Twinkling H2Os and glittered with Glitter Ritz Cool Highlight Microfine Transparent glitter. The bottom butterfly is cut from more of the Pink Paislee paper. The vertical strip is Quickutz Quickstripz Tropical which was textured with Craft Concepts Butterfly Kisses embossing folder.. The sentiment is Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings stamped in Nick Bantock Prussian Blue on Stampin' Up Very Vanilla. The embellishments are Oregon Raindrops.
I love this card. I just picked up this Pink Paislee paper because I thought the pattern was perfect for cards and I found the colours very appealing. That being said, it was more difficult than I thought to find a green that would work. Next time it will be blue all the way.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Beautiful Birthday Butterfly
Today I'm posting the birthday card for one of my best friends. She loves all things bright and glittery.
The image is Peel-Offs Large Gold Butterfly applied to watercolour paper that was coloured with Tombow markers, spritzed with water and glittered with Glitter Ritz Microfine Glitter. The image was affixed to a piece of Stampin' Up Shimmery White that was textured with Crafts Concepts Wings embossing folder and painted with a variety of LuminArte Twinkling H2Os. The remaining layers are Melon Mambo and DCWV Pocket Full of Posies. The sentiment is Sweet 'n Sassy Birthday Greetings.
I found this beautiful butterfly when I was working on yesterday's card. It was tucked in with a pile of glittered leftover pieces. I'm absolutely in love with this card. It is not necessarily in a colour palette that I gravitate towards but it is so wonderfully colourful and sparkly that I just can't help myself.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Paisley Petals 9 & 10
Today I'm posting cards nine and ten of my latest one sheet wonder series.
The background layer is Stampin' Up Bravo Burgundy which is textured with Craft Concepts Flutterby embossing folder. The printed paper is Stampin' Up Paisley Petals which is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment is Waltzingmouse Say It With Style stamped in Bravo Burgundy on Whisper White and layered on Not Quite Navy. The embellishments are TPC Studio Wedding Silhouettes Mini Jewels.
The printed paper is Stampin' Up Paisley Petals which is layered on Always Artichoke. The sentiment is Annabelle Stamps Sentimental Bluebells stamped in Always Artichoke. The embellishments are Multicrafts Keepsakes Memories.
I love these cards. Both are quite simple and focus on the printed paper. I'm really starting to think that dry embossing is one of the most effective ways to jazz up plain paper and make a card spectacular.
I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

One Sheet Wonder 13 & 14
I have the last two cards, thirteen and fourteen, in the traditional Christmas One Sheet Wonder charity cardmaking project.
The paper is Close To My Heart - Colonial White, Cranberry, New England Ivy and Mistletoe. There is also two different types of textured Bazzill card stock. Some Stampin' Up Very Vanilla has also been thrown into the mix.
The background paper is textured with Crafts Concepts Merry Christmas embossing folder highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The embellishments are Creative Impressions Metallic Mini Rounds.
The sentiment is Close To My Heart Christmas Love stamped in Nick Bantock Vermillion Lacquer. The elements are highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.
I've loved each and every card in this series. I know part of it is the paper, all that holly, but I also love the simplicity of the all the layouts. Keeping everything simple, including the embellishments makes these cards really wonderful. They'll be perfect for this card sale.
I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

One Sheet Wonder 3 & 4
Today I've got cards 3 and 4 in my one sheet one project for charity.
The card bases are Close To My Heart Colonial White. The patterned paper is BoBunny Sophie Bouquet. The solid papers are Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip, Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla.
The senitment is Denami Design Upright Happy Birthday. The embellishments are EK Success Shimmering Silver Dots. The layered vertical element is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.
The Rich Razzleberry layer is textured with Crafts Concepts Butterfly Kisses embossing folder painted with LuminArte Black Orchid Twinkling H2Os. The patterned paper is highlighted with LuminArte Burnt Umber Twinkling H2Os. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Warmest Regards. The embellishments are Recollections pearls.
Once I get going, the cards just get better and better. I think my favourite so far is the butterfly card. I just love the shimmer of the butterflies.
I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Bliz 2
Today's card is for my sister-in-law. She is extremely creative, with an exceptional eye for colour.
The background paper is BasicGrey Kioshi layered on Stampin' Up Almost Amethyst. The embossed layer is Very Vanilla painted with LuminArte Golden Opal and Playful Peony Twinkling H2Os, dry embossed with Crafts Concepts Flutterby and layered on Mellow Moss. The sentiment is Gina K Fanciful Tags stamped in Mellow Moss on Very Vanilla and layered on Mellow Moss. The ribbon is Offray. The embellishments are K&Company Adhesive Gems.
I love everything about this card except for the layout. It is too left-side heavy. Once I embossed the strip of painted Very Vanilla, I found placement a challenge. The elements just seemed to gather on the left. Even though I'm likely being too picky, I'm pretty confident my sister-in-law will love this card.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Mother's Day
I was so inspired by yesterday's vintage Mother's Day card that I crafted another.
The papers on this card include BasicGrey Ambrosia and Stampin' Up Ruby Red and Early Espresso. The textured layers were achieved with Crafts Concepts Venus embossing folder. The sentiment is Stampin' Up All Holidays. The embellishments are White Opal Liquid Pearls.
I really love this card. The brown and red work so well together. Is there nothing that doesn't work with BasicGrey paper. This is the first time I've used Liquid Pearls and I found it was OK. I was expecting it to be like Stickles but found it a lot runnier so it was much harder to control. The effect is still quite lovely though.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Royal Wedding
Today's card is absolutely in honor of the Royal Wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony for a lovely couple.
The paper is all Stampin' Up - Night of Navy, Real Red and Whisper White - all layered on Canford Silver. The Real Red layer is textured with Crafts Concepts Venus embossing folder. The image is Outlines Rubber Stamps, highlighted in Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen, and the sentiment is Stampabilities Changes Everything, both of which are stamped in Nick Bantock Deep Turquoise. The embellishments are Hero Arts Metallic Decor.
I love this card. Both the image and the sentiment are among my favourite stamps for wedding and anniversary cards. The red and blue were a must for this particular celebratory card.
I hope you enjoyed Catherine and William's wedding as well as this card, and come back to SPI again soon.
