Fabulously Feathered

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a great all purpose card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Whisper White.  The printed paper is Stampin' Up Birds of a Feather layered on Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo.  The Island Indigo layered was stamped with a Michael's feather stamp and heat embossed with Fun Stamps peacock glitter embossing powder.  The sentiment is Lizzie Anne Say It In Script stamped in Altenew Galactic Stream on Whisper White and layered on more Summer Starfruit.  The printed paper is highlighted with Diamond Stickles

My neighbor works at a long-term care center and is having a rough go of things, to say the least.  She is always cheerful and smiling so I thought this card word be perfect for her.  I love all the colours in this designer series paper and have used it very sparingly over the years.  I love the heat embossed feathers on the bottom layer, they work perfectly with the feathers in the printed paper.  I hope this card makes her smile!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Wishes IX & X

Hello everyone,

Today's card are numbers nine and ten in this feminine one sheet wonder series.

The card bases are Recollections. The printed paper is Scenic Route Sonomoa Melody Lane. The solid papers are Stampin' Up Ruby Red and Lucky Limeade and Close To My Heart Colonial White.

The sentiment is Gina K Garden Silhouettes.  The embellishments are Stampin' Up Basic Pearl Jewels.

The sentiment is Lizzie Anne Say It In Script.  The embellishments are Stampin' Up Basic Pearl Jewels.

I think these are another couple of great cards.  I love these blocks of patterned paper in a layout.  It is especially nice when I can get the images to line up, forming a larger image with breaks of colour.  A great 'technique', one which I use often, so you'd think I'd do more paper piecing...

I hope you enjoy these card and come back to SPI again soon.

Wings, Flourishes and Sparkle

Hello everyone,

Today's card uses an element that I worked on for yesterday's card but just couldn't get it to work.  That wasn't an issue today.

The background layer is Close To My Heart Sweet Leaf, textured with a Darice Corner Scroll embossing folder, coloured with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen and layered on Juniper.  The printed paper is Close To My Heart Wings also layered on Juniper.  The sentiment is Lizzie Anne Say It In Script stamped in Stampin' Up Baja Breezed on Very Vanilla.  The images are Stampin' Up Thanks For Caring stamped in Crumb Cake and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The ribbon is Michael's Special Value.  The embellishments are TPC Studio Timeless Christmas Jewels.

This card just works!  I love this printed paper and I cut up a full 12 X 12 sheet just to get that butterfly in the bottom right corner.  I didn't stress about it because I'm confident that I will use even the smallest scrap.  I had to cut the background piece just a titch from yesterday because it really needed the Juniper layer to stand out.  I wish I had the coordinating Close To My Heart ink but I've no more room in my ink drawer for anything new.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Butterfly Beauty 5

Hello everyone,

Today's card is number five in this one sheet wonder series.

The printed paper, K&Company SW Nature Butterfly, is layered on Stampin' Up More Mustard and Blue Bayou. The image, from Magenta, is stamped in More Mustard on Very Vanilla. The sentiment, Lizzie Anne Say It In Script, is stamped in Marina Mist on Very Vanilla and layered on More Mustard. The embellishments are Multicrafts Keepsakes Memories.

I love all the layers on this card. I've been dying to use this image since I got it but have been so wrapped up in Christmas cards, the opportunity never arose. I'm glad I got the chance because it is a really great image and I can see using it often.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone,

Today's card uses one of the flubs from my weekend of card making frustration. I've used Sunday's Card Positioning Systems sketch and today's My Time To Craft 'jewels' challenge when crafting this card.

The patterned paper is DCWV Pocket Full of Posies. The green layer is Stampin' Up Certainly Celery which was dry embossed with Sizzix Floral Expression texture plate. The lavender layer is Bazzill Bling. The image, Cuttlebug's With Love, was dry embossed on a Recollections card base and painted with Shimmerz Angel Wings. The sentiment is Lizzie Anne Say It In Script. The embellishments are Kiwi Oregon Raindrops.

This was one of my test pieces for last week's One Layer Wednesday shimmer challenge. I didn't want to just through it out so I repurposed it into, what I think is, a really beautiful card. I love pink and green together. It was also great to find paper and texture to match the image.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Baby, Anniversary and Christmas

Hello everyone,

I've finally created the last of my 'must do' cards for the moment, so I rewarded myself by giving in to my love of crafting Christmas cards. A colleague requested an anniversary card based on elements from cards in my stash. Another colleague commissioned a baby boy card for another colleague.

The card base is from Recollections. The base layer is Canford Silver layered on glossy paper that was smooshed with Ranger alcohol ink in Cloudy Blue, Sail Boat Blue, Pearl Mixative as well as Blending Solution. The image, on Stampin' Up Whisper Whtie, is Asian Artistry coloured with Sakura Silver Shadow Gelly Roll pens. The sentiment is Lizzie Anne Say It In Script. The embellishments are Annabelle Stamps pearls.

The background paper is DCWV Nana's Kids. The focal point is Quickutz QuickStripz Garden layered with Stampin' Up Whisper White. The sentiment is Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings. The ribbons are Michael's Dashes, Dots & Checks and Textured Trio. The hardware is of unknown origin. The embellishments are clear dew drops from the Robin's Nest.

The background paper is of unknown origin. The solid layers are glossy paper smooshed with Ranger Clover and Meadow alcohol inks, Silver Mixative and Blending Solution. The image, Impression Obsession Swirl & Snowflake Tree, is stamped in Nick Bantock Chartreuse Leaf on Stampin' Up Whisper White and heat embossed with Close To My Heart silver pearl. The sentiment is Papertrey Ink Signature Christmas. The embellishments are Amuse Creative Candy White Pretty Pearls.

I really like all three of these cards. The Christmas card is probably my favourite though. I just love all the greens and that image is just beautiful, especially with the teeny, tiny pearls. I'm pretty certain that my colleagues will love both the baby card and the anniversary card.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Three Challenge Birthday

Hello everyone,

Today's card is based on three challenges. The Play Date Cafe wanted to see blue; My Time To Craft wanted spots; and Papertake Weekly provided the sketch.

Notwithstanding the sentiment, which is Lizzie Anne Little Bits, this is a Stampin' Up card. The background paper is brocade blue textured with Sizzix Small Dots. The patterned paper is Patterns Pack II, some of which is highlighted with Diamond Stickles. The image is Medallion and is also highlighted with Diamond Stickles.

Blue is my favourite colour. I love this card. It was fun to combine all the papers into a very workable card. I also have to say that spots scream for Stickles. I think I use Stickles on the Medallion stamp every time I use it. Oh well, it works for me.

Please enjoy and come back to SPI again soon.
