Weddings Galore II

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting the second of three wedding cards I crafted for a colleague. This was to be a more casual card than yesterday's black and white. I think it may be just a little too feminine for a wedding somehow.

The printed paper is Prima Fairy Floral Collection "Garden Party" layered on Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade and My Mind's Eye. The corner layers are Soft Suede. The sentiment is Stampabilities Changes Everything. The embellishments are Recollections Pearls.

I just love this paper and couldn't resist using it. I think though, it is a little to pink and feminine for a wedding. We'll just have to see what my colleague prefers. I suspect though, I'll end up changing the sentiment. It would make a great Mother's Day card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Weddings Galore I

Hello everyone,

Today's card, also for my colleague, is one of three wedding cards. She only asked for two, today's black and white, and one other. I couldn't decide on the others so I made her two and I'll let her choose her preference.

The printed paper is DCWV Glitter Stack layered on Stampin' Up Shimmery White and a shimmery black of unknown origin. The sentiment is from Magenta stamped in VersaFine on Whisper White and layered on shimmery black. The ribbon is Celebrate It Sheer Creations from Michael's. The embellishments are Recollections Glitter Adhesive Dots. The entire card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

Black and white is not a favourite of mine for weddings cards so as you may guess, this was specifically requested. She also asked for glitter and sparkles. This black and white is not that bad all things being equal. I love these embellishments and think they actually make this card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

I Interrupt This Marathon

Hello everyone,

I've had a few card orders from a colleague so I'm taking a break from the thank you marathon to post some of my latest cards. I'll be back to thank yous in a few days.

The patterned paper is Fancy Pants Baby Mine Peek-A-Boo layered on Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip and So Saffron. The sentiment is American Crafts Baby, Baby, Baby stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White and layered on more Chocolate Chip. The brads are of unknown origin.

These little monkeys are so darn cute, how could you not love them? My colleague said the baby shower was all yellows and greens so this paper works really well. This is a favourite layout, rectangles and some brads and it works so well. I think this is perfect for my colleague.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon XI

Hello everyone,

Today I've posted card eleven is this thank you card marathon project. This past week's cards were all crafted last Sunday. I believe I've still got at least another week of thank you cards in this project - there were a lot of people who helped us with Neeje's fundraising crop.

The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Old Olive and DCWV Textured Pastels. The flower, Stampin' Up Posy Punch, is stamped in Old Olive and layered on a flower punched from a scrap of DCWV Textured Pastels. The brad is of unknown origin. The sentiment, Penny Black Thanks, Thanks, is stamped in Old Olive on Whisper White and layered on Stampin' Up Old Olive and DCWV Textured Pastels.

Compared to yesterday's card, this one is not my favourite. Although, to be fair, I loved yesterday's card so much, it would be really hard to beat. I love how I managed to find a flower stamp (and coordinating punch) that suited this printed paper so perfectly. I love it when that happens.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon X

Hello everyone,

Today I've got card ten for you and it is my absolute favourite in this entire series so far.

The printed paper is BoBunny Winter Joy Bundled which is layered on Stampin' Up Whisper White, Lovely Lilac and Lucky Limeade. The ribbon is of unknown origin. The embellishments are Annabelle Stamps Pearls and Drops. The sentiment is Gina K Fanciful Tags stamped in Lovely Lilac on Whisper White.

I first use this paper for my parent's anniversary card last year and I love it as much as ever. The purple, teal and green are just beautiful together. I didn't intend to put ribbon on this card but I've had this scrap sitting on my desk for months and when I spotted it out of the corner of my eye, I realized it was just perfect for this card. I also love these Annabelle Stamps pearls, they mimic the BoBunny paper really well.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon IX

Hello everyone,

I've card nine in this latest thank you card marathon project. Like Sunday's card, I've never been crazy about this paper and have had great problems using it, but not today!

The printed paper, of unknown origin, is layered on Stampin' Up Very Vanilla and Lucky Limeade. The sentiment is Annabelle Stamps Square Posies stamped in Tangerine Tango on Very Vanilla. The embellishments are Keepsakes Memories.

I think one of the reasons why I believe this card worked is because I used a couple of favourite things - layers and the layout. I probably could have used a sentiment with more presence but I just had to give this a try, a new one from Annabelle Stamps.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon VIII

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting thank you card number eight. This one is all soft and pretty and lovely!

The printed paper is SEI Couture Chiffon layered on a shimmery pink of unknown origin. The image is Memory Box First Flight stamped in Stampin' Up Pale Plum on Whisper White and layered on shimmery pink. The sentiment is Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings also stamped in Pale Plum on Whisper White and layered on shimmery pink. The embellishments are Martha Stewart Pastel Mini Pearls.

I love this card! The very best description is the one I used earlier, soft and pretty. All the pales colours and the hints of shimmer. This flight of butterflies stamp is really spectacular. It's not often I craft so a soft card that actually turns out so great! It gives me hope that I'll be able to repeat it.

I hope you enjoy this card and comes back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon VII

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting card six. This is my accidental card. I was looking for yet another sentiment when I SPI'd this Verve stamp that I picked up a while ago but hadn't yet used.

The printed paper is My Mind's Eye layered on Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler. The image, Verve Artful Elegance, and the sentiment, Verve Artful Elegance, are stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla and layered on Cherry Cobbler. The embellishments are Recollections Pearls.

This is, by far, one of my favourite cards in this series. I just love this red - Cherry Cobbler has always appealed to me. I bought this particular set because it struck me that this image would take embellishments really well. I wasn't wrong.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon VI

Hello everyone,

I think as I crafted each card on Sunday, I kept trying to improve on that first card that I wasn't so crazy about. Today, I'm posting card five in the Thank You marathon series.

The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Early Espresso and My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is Verve Celebration of Thanks stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and layered on more Early Espresso and My Mind's Eye. The ribbon is Michael's Special Value. The entire card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

This is one of those sheets of paper that I loved from the moment I laid eyes upon it. For someone who shies away from circles, I've find this paper really appealing. I just have to keep saying how much I love this set of Verve stamps. I all just works for me.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon V

Hello everyone,

Today's marathon card turned out beautifully.

The patterned paper is Chatter Box Botanico Dragonflies layered on Stampin' Up Not Quite Navy. The bottom layer is Early Espresso textured with Couture Creations Drink Me embossing folder and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment is Verve Celebration of Thanks stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and layered on Not Quite Navy. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Mocha Opaques.

As much as I wasn't crazy about yesterday's card, I really like this card. All these straight rectangles and just a little bit of sparkle and bling. These colours were so much easier to work with as well. I'm thrilled with this set of Verve sentiments.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon IV

Hello everyone,

With Neeje's Crop only less than a week away, I'm scrambling just a little to keep it all together. I really marathoned today, managing to get a week's worth of thank you cards crafted and posted. I had so much fun going through my scrap bin and have come up with some really great cards if I do say so myself.

The patterned paper is of unknown origin which is layered on Close To My Heart Brown Bag and My Mind's Eye. It is outlined with a brown Staedtler pen and Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment and image is Verve Celebration of Thanks stamped in Ranger Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The sentiment is stamped on Stampin' Up Very Vanilla and more of My Mind's Eye. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Mocha Opaques.

I have to say this is not my favourite card. It seems to me every time I used this paper, I've been less than satisfied. I think it's the colours in the paper. All the colours work well together on the sheet but trying to get them to work with other paper has been frustrating. I think I've finished using up this sheet and I can only say thank goodness.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon III

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting the 3rd card in my thank you marathon project. I went back to my scrap bin to find the papers for this card. I slipped yesterday by using a new sheet of paper, but I just couldn't resist.

The background paper is Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie. The printed paper is My Mind's Eye, but I don't recall the line. The sentiment, Hero Arts Thoughtful Messages, is stamped in Pacific Point on Whisper White and layered on Pacific Point. The ribbon is Crafts and Michael's Special Value. The embellishment is Multicrafts.

I don't love this card but I don't hate it either. This is not the colours that I would normally lean towards. I think keeping the layout simple keep the card from being overwhelmingly garish.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon II

Hello everyone,

Sorry I missed posting yesterday. I was preoccupied with Neeje Crop preparations. I suspect that I will be hit or miss over the next week or so.

Today's post is the second thank you card in my latest marathon series. I picked up the paper yesterday at The Scrapbox when I picked up the very generously donated silent auction items for the Crop.

The printed paper is Echo Park Springtime Blossoms, layered on Stampin' Up Perfect Plum. The sentiment is Hero Arts Thank You Messages, stamped in Perfect Plum on Whisper White and layered on more Perfect Plum. The embellishments are Recollections Pearls.

I love this card. I thought the Perfect Plum layer under the sentiment was inspired. I found this great shape in my scraps and it couldn't fit the sentiment any better. I suspect I could have gussied up this card a lot more than I did but there is something about it's simplicity that is particularly appealing. I love this particular sheet of paper and I know it is going to make some wonderful cards.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thank You Marathon 1

Happy Valentine's Day!

Now that the Valentine stash and supplies have been put to rest for another year, it is time to start working on Thank You cards for both curling and the Neeje Crop. I'll try to be as creative as possible as I wouldn't want you to get bored. I've decided to try to use, whenever possible, only scrap paper for these cards. It's time to get things cleaned out.

The background paper is BasicGrey Marjolaine. The remaining paper is Stampin' Up Certainly Celery, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla. The sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words. The embellishments are Multicrafts Keepsakes Memories. The card is selectively highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

I love this card! Of course, BasicGrey paper, whatever line, just warms my heart and I suspect you'll being seeing a ton of it over this thank you series because I've tons of little scraps to use. This is a new stamp, I have a baby stamp that is similar which I love and when I saw this one, I knew I had to buy it.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Hugs & Kisses

Hello everyone,

I've been so busy preparing for this year's Neeje Association Crop that I didn't manage to craft one card this weekend. I'm posting my darling daughter's Valentine tonight.

The printed paper is BoBunny Gift of Love Crazy Love Fudge and Flowers. It is layered on Stampin' Up Pixie Pink that was punched with Martha Stewart Swirling Lace border punch. The sentiment, TPC Studio Hugs and Kisses, is stamped in Melon Mambo, on Very Vanilla and layered on more patterned paper and Pixie Pink. The embellishments are Strawberry Oregon Raindrops. The card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

This is the perfect card for my daughter. It is pink and girly, cute and lovely. I love this paper and colour combination. Would that all Valentines were so easy to craft.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

I Love You

Hello everyone,

Today's Valentine is much more to my taste. I think it is my favourite so far!

The printed paper is BoBunny Gift of Love Crazy Love More Than Words layered on Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler. The sentiment is TPC Studio Hugs & Kisses stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and layered on Early Espresso. The embellishments are Recollections. The layers are highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

I love the colours, the layout, the paper, the brads, really, everything about this card. Though not girly, this could be the one I give to my daughter as it really does say what I feel about her.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello everyone,

I'm still on the Valentine's kick. Today's card uses a card base which I accidentally smeared with ink. It was right on the edge so I either had to get creative or lose the card base.

The card base is inked with Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo and Soft Suede and highlighted with Tattered Angels Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist. The Early Espresso layer is stamped with I {Love} Love wheel. The printed paper is BoBunny Gift of Love Crazy Love Have A Heart which is layered on Pixie Pink. The sentiment is TPC Studio Hugs & Kisses stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White and layered on Early Espresso. The embellishments are Watermelon and Cocoa Oregon Raindrops.

I can't say this is one of my favourite cards but I don't hate it either. It is probably just a little to 'shabby' for my taste.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Hugs + Kisses

Hello everyone,

Now that I've pulled out my stash of Valentine goodies, I'm on a roll. Let's just see how far my Valentine mojo will stretch.

The printed paper is Making Memories Valentine Paisley layered on Stampin' Up Real Red. The embellishments are Recollections and are affixed to a scrap of Whisper White. The sentiment is TPC Studio Hugs & Kisses stamped in Real Red on Whisper White. The entire card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

This is one of my favourite Valentine papers ever - it has paisley. I only have a few scraps left so I'm trying to use them as judiciously as possible. I originally intended this card for my daughter but I don't think it is as girly as I'd like. I'll stick it in my stash and craft her something more daughterish.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Time For Valentines

Hello everyone,

A week away from Valentines Day and this is the first card I've made. I'm absolutely blaming all the one sheet wonder projects. Maybe I should have done a Valentines one sheet wonder - just kidding - I'll save that for next year.

The printed paper is BoBunny Crush layered on Stampin' Up Real Red. The sentiment, TPC Studio Hugs & Kisses, is stamped in Real Red on Whisper White. It is layered on a strip of Real Red that was cut with Sizzix Heart #8 and highlighted with a black Tombow marker. The embellishments are Multicrafts Keepsakes Memories.

I intend this card for my husband. I never like to make him cards that are too frou frou because if you knew him, you'd know that just isn't him. I found this particular paper appealing because of the black.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Anniversary

Hello everyone,

My parents are celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary this week. It is an amazing accomplishment in this day and age. I've crafted this card to mark their special day.

The background paper is TPC Studio Wedding Silhouette Tapestry Stripe. The sentiment is Inkadinkado stamped in Nick Bantock Charcoal Grey on Stampin' Up Very Vanilla and layered on Canford Gold. The embellishments are TPC Studio Wedding Silhouette Mini Jewels.

I really love this card. The layout, sentiment and embellishments were kept really simple so this fabulous paper could just shine. I didn't have anything in particular in mind when I was thinking of this card. It all came together when I shifting through my paper stash and I found this sheet. It was perfect!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

New Baby Boy

Hello everyone,

Believe it or not, today's card is not a one sheet wonder. It was commissioned for a colleague whose wife is expecting a baby boy. I've been dying to use this cute paper.

The card base is Gina K Pure Luxury card stock. The printed paper is Little Yellow Bicycle Babysauraus Dinos All over. The blue paper is of unknown origin which is layered on Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip. The sentiment is Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings stamped and layered in Chocolate Chip. The embellishments are K&Company Rough & Tumble Dinosaurs.

I love these little dinosaurs! They are so perfect for this baby boy card. I think this card will work perfectly for my colleague.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Paisley Petals 13, 14 & 15

Hello everyone,

I'm posting the last three cards in this one sheet wonder series. As much as I love doing these one sheet wonders, I need to get my creative mojo moving along other lines. I also think you guys much be ready for something different. I know I'll do another series in the future but I promise not for a little white.

The printed paper is Stampin' Up Paisley Petals layered on Not Quite Navy and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment is Kaisercraft Occasions stamped in Not Quite Navy on Whisper White. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Sparkles.

The printed paper is Stampin' Up Paisley Petals layered on Bravo Burgundy and Not Quite Navy. The sentiment is Magenta stamped in Bravo Burgundy on Whisper White and layered on Always Artichoke. The embellishments are Queen and Company Chocolate Delight Ice Rox.

The printed paper is Stampin' Up Paisley Petals layered on Not Quite Navy and Always Artichoke. The images are Paisley Petals, clear heat embossed and painted with LuminArte Olive Vine Twinkling H2Os. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Happy Moments. The embellishments are Recollections Pearls.

I've loved this entire series of cards. This printed paper is so fantastic and worked so wonderfully in this series.

I hope you enjoy this card and this series and come back to SPI again soon.

Paisley Petals 11 & 12

Hello everyone,

Today is cards eleven and twelve in the Paisley Petals one sheet wonder series.

The printed paper is Stampin' Up Paisley Petals layered on Always Artichoke and Not Quite Navy. The sentiment is Verve Forever In Our Hearts. The embellishment is Prima Say It With Pearls.

The printed paper is Stampin' Up Paisley Petals layered on Not Quite Navy and Cajun Craze. The sentiment is Stamp Barn. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Licorice Opaques and Recollections Pearls.

Throughout this series I've had it in my mind to make two of every type of card including sympathy cards which are never easy to craft. The biggest challenge what lining up the printed paper so it appears like one piece of paper. I think both of these two worked out quite well.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Paisley Petals 9 & 10

Hello everyone,

Today I'm posting cards nine and ten of my latest one sheet wonder series.

The background layer is Stampin' Up Bravo Burgundy which is textured with Craft Concepts Flutterby embossing folder. The printed paper is Stampin' Up Paisley Petals which is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment is Waltzingmouse Say It With Style stamped in Bravo Burgundy on Whisper White and layered on Not Quite Navy. The embellishments are TPC Studio Wedding Silhouettes Mini Jewels.

The printed paper is Stampin' Up Paisley Petals which is layered on Always Artichoke. The sentiment is Annabelle Stamps Sentimental Bluebells stamped in Always Artichoke. The embellishments are Multicrafts Keepsakes Memories.

I love these cards. Both are quite simple and focus on the printed paper. I'm really starting to think that dry embossing is one of the most effective ways to jazz up plain paper and make a card spectacular.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.
