Hello everyone,
Today's thank you card uses unconventional colours but turned out better than I expected.
The printed paper is We R Memory Keepers Hoopla - Gala layered on Close To My Heart Gold Rush and Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry. The image is Stampin' Up Stippled Blossoms stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Ranger Spun Sugar Distress ink on Whisper White and layered on more Rich Razzleberry and Gold Rush. The flowers are highlighted with Y&C gold Gel Extreme. The sentiment is Gina K Framed Greetings stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Whisper White and layered on Rich Razzleberry. The embellishments are ZVA Self Adhesive Pearls.
I'm so thrilled with this card. I am totally in love with the layered stamp. Using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, the images come out so great! I'm terrible at colouring so being able to give images this kind of multi-layered depth is right up my ally. Like the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, it took me a while to get the hang of it but now that I've mastered this technique, it's hard to imagine not using this type of stamp whenever I get the chance.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Chirping Chickadee
Hello everyone,
Today's card is for another of my beginners who brought a fabulous pumpkin soup for lunch. It was amazing!
The printed paper is My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody "Baby" Chantilly layered on Close To My Heart Parchment. The images are Close To My Heart Fabulous You stamped in Stampin' Up Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla and Parchment, coloured with Stampin' Up Pastels and layered on more Parchment. The sentiment is Verve Amazing Wishes also stamped in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla, layered on more Parchment and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Mocha Opaques.
This wonderful lady spoke to me about a stained glass chickadee stained glass piece that she loves so I couldn't resist using this stamp for her thank you card. It turned out rather well. I'm really not fussy on the Close To My Heart Parchment paper. It is just a little too peachy orange for my taste but it works great with the My Mind's Eye paper.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Cupcake Cuteness
Hello everyone,
One of my beginners, who is also a colleague, brought some really lovely cupcakes to the crop. They were delicious and made her thank you card so very easy to craft.
The printed paper is Stampin' Up Sweet Shop layered on Pool Party. The images and sentiment is Stampin' Up Short & Sweet stamped in Soft Suede on Whisper White and layered on more Pool Party and Pink Pirouette. The images were coloured with Sakura Souffle pens and Christmas Red Stickles. The embellishments are My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Enamel Dots.
I love everything about this card. It is perfect for my girlfriend who is a marvelous baker and I can't wait to give it to her. The little cupcakes were a challenge to stamp and I couldn't have done it without my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. It took me a while to get the hang of uses the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig but once you figure it out, it is impossible to stamp without it. In hindsight I would have use some brown StazOn ink because the Soft Suede bled a little when I coloured with the Sakura Souffle pens. I can live with it though because I didn't want to attempt stamping this row of cupcakes a second time.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Silver And Black
Hello everyone,
My own husband helped us get some of the grocery sponsors that facilitated the great food we had on hand throughout the day.
The printed papers are DCWV All Dressed Up layered on Canford Silver. The sentiment is Serendipity stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Whisper White and layered on a black of unknown origin and more Canford Silver. The embellishments are from the dollar store and were reworked with little scrpas of the black paper.
My husband is a huge Oakland Raiders NFL fan so I know I won't go wrong by crafting him silver and black cards. There may be a little more glitter than he would like but I'm still using pieces from my scrap bin and it was either glitter or leopard print. The glitter is the better option of the two. The original brads were just lousy with crooked, plastic inserts that go with absolutely nothing. On the plus side, the plastic is easy removed and replaced with any number of things. In this particular case, paper. I put extra glue on top of the paper to give the reworked brads some shine. I've also replaced the brads with Stickles and it also works really well.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Puppy Love
Hello everyone,
The husband of my co-organizer took care of my dog the entire day of the crop. I think the two of them had a great day which calls for a really special thank you card.
The printed paper is My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow Polka Dot Punch layered on Close To My Heart Topiary. The image, one of my own photos, is layered on Stampin' Up Very Vanilla, more Topiary and a brown of unknown origin. The sentiment is Verve Thankful Accents stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla. The embellishments are Pebbles Dimensional Stickers.
I love crafting critter thank you cards! If I do say so myself, Juno makes a lovely card. This card was just fun to pull together and I know it will be appreciated.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Pretty Peacock
Hello everyone,
Today's thank you card uses a great Stampin' Up Peacock stamp.
Today's thank you card uses a great Stampin' Up Peacock stamp.
The printed papers are DCWV and unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Whisper White and Pale Plum. The image is Stampin' Up World Treasures Peacock stamped in Perfect Plum, Lovely Lilac, Orchid Opulence, Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace and Almost Amethyst on Whisper White. The image was over stamped in Illuminate ink. The sentiment is Verve Celebration of Thank stamped in Elegant Eggplant.
I love this peacock stamped. I accidentally pressed a little too hard, ending up with an edge impression so I cut out the image and adhered it with dimensionals. Between the height and the slight shimmer of the Illuminate ink, it's a very pretty image. I'm still playing with the Illuminate ink but think it will offer some pretty decent effects. I probably could have added some extra embellishments but I didn't want to detract from the image.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Simply Squared
Hello everyone,
I still have a number of thank you cards to come. Today's is for another of our male helpers.
The printed papers are of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Sahara Sand. The image/sentiment is Inkadinkado Thanks Words stamped in Basic Grey on Very Vanilla. The embellishments are from Fabricland.
This is a really simple card which draws on the squares in the printed paper. One of my blog followers commented that the printed paper may be some really old Spellbinders giveaway. The Fabricland embellishments are meant to be heated onto fabric but are great glued onto paper. It's a good thing because I have tons of them. This is a favourite sentiment stamp which I use whenever I'm crafting a series of thank you cards. I love it because it can be either masculine or feminine depending on the ink colour and if I decide to glamour it up or not.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Flowery Fresh
Hello everyone,
Today's thank you card uses some more of my favourite paper scraps.
The printed papers are Close To My Heart and another of unknown origin. The images are Stampin' Up Sweet Summer stamped in Close To My Heart Juniper and Indian Corn Blue and Stampin' Up Lavender Lace on Whisper White and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Wonderful Words stamped in Indian Corn Blue on Whisper White. The tiny images are stamped in Barely Banana and are also highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The embellishments are Hero Arts gems.
I love the freshness of this card. It took me a while to find the inks to coordinate with the stripes in the printed paper but it was worth it. Though nothing is from the same company, it all works really well together. I'm really into layered stamping these days and this focal element turned out really well.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Mother's Day CASE
Hello everyone,
More scrap thank you cards today. This card uses some of my all-time favourite paper, using one of my all-time favourite stamp sets, in a layout I love, and in colours I could use all the time.
The printed papers are Stampin' Up Cottage Wall. The middle layer is punched with Martha Stewart's String Lace border punch. The images and sentiment are Stampin' Up Pocket Silhouettes stamped in Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Orchid Opulence on Whisper White. The ribbon is Michael's Celebrate It Sheer Creations.
I so loved the Mother's Day card that I crafted for the beginners at our crop that I decided to CASE myself and do a thank you card along the same lines. I shimmered things up with ribbon and the punched border and just love the results. I think the layered stamps work perfectly with this paper. I do believe I'll CASE myself again.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

You Rock
Hello everyone,
Today's thank you cards is for one of the youths that helped with the set up and tear down at the crop. They sure saved our backs.
The printed papers are Close To My Heart You Rock. The sentiment is Gina K Tag Lines stamped in Outdoor Denim on Stampin' Up Whisper White. The embellishments are Multicrafts.
There have been banners and flags all over the cardmaking magazines and posts for the last little while so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I wanted to keep this card reasonably fuss-free and these little banners helped fit the bill by adding some interest without being over the top. I love this Close To My Heart paper and have used it sparingly ever since I got it. In keeping with my efforts to use up some scraps, this card uses only leftovers.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Flowering & Flourishing Thanks
Hello everyone,
Today's thank you card is for the Close To My Heart representative that has participated in our crop for the last couple of years. I'm always grateful to see her and love crafting her a special Close To My Heart thank you card.
The paper is Close To My Heart Grace, Barn Red, Twilight and Colonial White. The sentiment is Quick Cards Thanks stamped in Twilight ink and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The border is punched with EK Success Flower Burst edger punch. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Mocha Opaques.
This card is a little more formal than I originally intended but I wanted to use some of the Close To My Heart scraps that I had on hand. I had borrowed this edger punch from the friend of a friend and used it on this particular paper because I thought it mimicked the flowers in the paper design quite well. It certainly pops on this card! I love the yellow much more with the other printed paper than I do on it's own. Go figure.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Starburst Thanks V
Hello everyone,
Today's card is the last of the starburst thank you cards. I could have kept going and going but had to draw a line somewhere. Once I figure out some of the other quilted paper cards I've pinned, I'll go to town!
The printed papers are Little Yellow Bicycle Delightful Collection Blooms, Close To My Heart, My Mind's Eye and another of unknown origin. The sentiment is Penny Black Thanks, Thanks stamped in Close To My Heart Dutch Blue on Stampin' Up Whisper White. The ribbon is of unknown origin. The embellishments are Close To My Heart Licorice Opaques.
I wanted to play with different patterned paper for these starburst cards and decided to see the effect of a different print matched with the Little Yellow Bicycle paper from yesterday's card. Pretty awesome! I also explored using different patterned papers for layering and am very happy with the results. Wasn't too sure about the checked ribbon but figured the colour worked well so I'd just go for it. I am not disappointed.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Starburst Thanks IV
Hello everyone,
I've finished with my Valentine's (just two this year because I still have tons in my stash) and am back to posting the starburst thank you cards I crafted on Monday.
The printed papers are Little Yellow Bicycle Delightful Collection Blooms and another of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Gable Green, Whisper White and Bashful Blue. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Warmest Regards stamped in Certainly Celery on Whisper White and layered on more Little Yellow Bicycle. The ribbon is American Crafts Multi-Color Diamonds. The card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.
I love this cheerful starburst! I originally used this Little Yellow Bicycle paper for a set of baby announcements for a friend and had so much leftover I don't know if I'll ever use it all. What I like about this paper is that it has so many different colours you can do virtually anything with it. I couldn't believe how well this ribbon, which I've had forever, worked with the paper. I should have included some on the baby announcements.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Sweet Valentine
Hello everyone,
I know Valentine's Day is over but I did want to share the sweet card I crafted for my darling daughter.
The printed paper is BoBunny Smoochable Love Potion layered on g.e.d. Studios Rose Colored Glasses Collection Tinted Flowers. The sentiment is TPC Studio Hugs & Kisses stamped in Stampin' Up Lavender Lace on Very Vanilla and layered on more Lavender Lace. The embellishments are Recollections and Multicrafts brads.
I think this is a wonderfully sweet Valentine! I am particularly impressed with the placements of the brads. It was a bit of a challenge to get them properly aligned to form the half circle and the pink heart covers up the slight unevenness that I couldn't fix but it looks great! I could have added a ton more glitter but decided to rely solely on the brads.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Hello everyone,
Today's post is the Valentine card I crafted for my husband. He didn't get an anniversary card this year so I really had to make him a Valentine to make up for it.
The printed papers are BoBunny Crush layered on Canson Stygian Black and Stampin' Up Whisper White. The sentiment is TPC Studio Hugs & Kisses stamped in Real Red on Whisper White. The embellishments are Multicrafts brads.
My husband isn't one for frill and fuss so I crafted a really straightforward card. I actually think this is the same paper that I used for his Valentine last year though I'd be shocked if he noticed. The two little birds are rather sweet which is more me while the heart brads are tough and chunky which is more him. It works!
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Starburst Thanks III
Hello everyone,
Today's card uses the opposite triangle pieces from yesterday's card.
The printed paper are Karen Foster, K&Company and My Mind's Eye and four others of unknown origin. The solid papers are Stampin' Up Close To Cocoa, Pink Pirouette and Crumb Cake, Recollections Vanilla, and Close To My Heart Sweet Leaf. The Crumb Cake layer was punched with Martha Stewart's Quilted border punch. The Sweet Leaf layer was textured with Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Paisley embossing folder. The sentiment is Hero Arts Thank You Messages stamped in Soft Suede. The embellishments are Multicrafts Keepsakes Memories.
It amazes me that today's card and yesterday's card are so incredibly different when I used the same pieces of scrap paper. I thought it was really inspired to use the Martha Stewart Quilted border punch for one of these cards and it works so wonderfully. Though you can't see them all that well, I used two different sizes of embellishments on the border and it looks really cool. I am not usually so happy with cards that have this many different elements but I do like this one.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Starburst Thanks II
Hello everyone,
I wanted to try a starburst card with eight different pieces. This meant, of course, two cards. Two very different cards using the same eight pieces of paper.
The printed papers are Karen Foster, K&Company, My Minds Eye, and four others of unknown origin. The solid papers are Stampin' Up Close To Cocoa and Very Vanilla, Recollections and Bazzill. The images are Stampin' Up Delicate Doilies stamped in Crumb Cake. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Curly Cute stamped in Ruby Red. The flower is a Stampin' Up Five Petal flower punch from a piece of the red Bazzill. The brad is of unknown origin.
I'm so impressed with this card! Even though not all the patterns work perfectly together, this starburst really works nicely. I'm impressed that I could remember as many of the brand names as I did! I hadn't originally intended to use a flower but I had to mask the quilted part to stamp the images and part of the paper came off with the tape. This flower is a total cover-up!
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Starburst Thanks I
Hello everyone,
I had a yen to craft a starburst card today and I couldn't stop at just one.
The printed papers are My Mind's Eye and three others of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up textured Always Artichoke and Ruby Red. The sentiment is Verve Celebration of Thanks stamped in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla. The butterfly is punched with a Stampin' Up butterfly punch from a scrap of Ruby Red that was crimped. The embellishments are Kaisercraft December 25th jewels.
I found the instructions for this card via Pinterest and had a few issues with the dimensions provided. These are great cards for using up scrap pieces and I have a ton of scraps. It took forever to find three patterns that would work decently together. I found a number of really interesting quilted cards on Pinterest and once I have a bit of time, I can't wait to give a few of them a try.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Veggie Strips
Hello everyone,
This is the second vegetable card thank you card for a local fresh produce store which generously donated to our Crop.
The printed paper is Jillibean Soup "Fresh Vegetable Soup" Baby Carrots layered on Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade and Pumpkin Pie. The sentiment is Impression Obsession Vertical Greetings stamped in Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla.
Another really simple layout with all the interest coming from the paper and irregular strips. I knew it would be really tough to make the strips perfectly even so I decided to not even try. In the end I didn't need to because this works wonderfully. I love this veggie paper!
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Fresh Thanks
Hello everyone,
One of our Crop sponsors is a local fresh produce company. Without them, the food for which our Crop is renown, wouldn't be anywhere near as good.
The printed paper is Jillibean Soup "Fresh Vegetable Soup" Baby Carrots layered on Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade. The sentiment is Hero Arts Say It All stamped in Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla. The embellishments are Michaels Yellow Pop Metal Studs.
I first used this paper on a thank you card for a girlfriend's daycare cook and the leftovers are just too perfect for today's and tomorrow's cards. The two store managers are male so these are very basic cards with little by way of embellishments and very simple layouts. You don't need much extra when you've got such wonderful paper.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Perfectly Peach
Hello everyone,
As much as yesterday's card was green, today's is a study in peach.
The printed, textured and solid papers are of unknown origin. The background stamp is Hero Art La Lettre stamped in Stampin' Up Blush Blossom on Very Vanilla. The image is Hero Arts First Flight stamped in Dusty Durango. The sentiment is DeNami stamped in Early Espresso. The embellishments are TPC Studio Rockets and Rayguns mini jewels. The card is highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.
I'm generally not one for peach and orange and had originally planned for something more pink and floral. It didn't take me long to figure out that the printed paper I was trying to coordinate was more orange. I think the layered stamps worked particularly well in this case. I could have stamped the butterflies a little lower but I'm pleased with the final results when all is said and I done.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Glorious Green
Hello everyone,
I've got a study in green thank you card for you today.
The printed papers are of unknown origin layered with Stampin' Up Whisper White. The image is Stampin' Up Pretty Amazing stamped in Certainly Celery on Whisper White. The sentiment is Stampin' Up Perfectly Penned stamped in Versafine Onyx Black. The ribbon and embellishment are of unknown origin. All the flowers are highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.
I'm still working on my overflowing scrap bin and find myself leaning towards monochromatic cards. There are just so many scraps in my bin that sorting by colour makes it easier to find pieces that work well together. I do love the fresh feel of greens and white together. I'm also playing with layering stamps. I really like the look of the sentiment stamped over an image.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Shimmering Thank You
Hello everyone,
After yesterday's tropical interlude, I'm back to thank you cards.
The background image is Heartfelt Creations Large Elegant Word stamped in Stampin' Up Pale Plum. The image is Sweet & Sassy Butterfly Flourish stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on watercolour paper that was painted with LuminArt Plum Blossom, English Lavender and Icy Iris Twinkling H2Os and layered on Canford Silver. The image was heat embossed in Close To My Heart Silver Pearl embossing powder. The sentiment is also Sweet & Sassy Butterfly Flourish stamped in Versafine Onyx Black. The embellishments are Recollections.
I'm still working on my stash of leftovers. This watercolour background was done months ago when I was playing with some Twinkling H2Os. I have a whole bunch of these background elements in a variety of colours. I love the soft blended effect. As I didn't want anything to overwhelm the blended background, I didn't add any printed paper but instead turned to a background stamp. Would you believe I stamped that background in one shot! I was amazed as normally it would take at least a couple of attempts.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Love, Luck and Happiness
Hello everyone,
One of my colleagues has commissioned a wedding card for a friend who is eloping in Hawaii. I remembered that I had a bit of this old Stampin' Up paper with hibiscus flowers which is just perfect!
The printed papers are Stampin' Up Pink Flamingo layered on Summer Sun and Whisper White. The sentiment is Rubbernecker Best Wishes stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Whisper White and layered on Real Red. The embellishments are Kaisercraft Pearl Strips.
This is such a cheery card, perfect for this particular wedding, and it certainly brightens things up on a cold and dreary winter night. Between this card and yesterday's card, I'm channelling the tropics. This is really old stock that I originally got for one of my daughter's birthday parties. I wasn't too crazy about it but she loved it! I've only a bit left and was wondering what on earth I would do with it. I need more people to elope to Hawaii!
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Pretty Patchwork Thank You
Hello everyone,
I'm back to crafting the Crop thank you cards. Today's card uses up some more leftovers and a great two-step stamp.
The printed paper are of unknown origin. The images are Stampin' Up Delight in Life stamped in Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Lovely Lilac on Whisper White and layered on Lovely Lilac. The sentiment is Hero Arts Everyday Sayings stamped in Crumb Cake. The embellishments are Doodlebug baby girl assortment mini pearls and Kaisercraft pearl strips coloured with a Playful Purple Bic marker.
This is one really cheerful card. I've always loved this scrap of pretty printed squares. I've been rather enamoured with two-step or layered stamps ever since I crafted this Christmas card. I always use my stamp positioner when I use a two-step stamp even though they are suppose to be more free-hand. I just like a neater look. I didn't have a purple pearl so I used a tip I got from Susan Riahala's Simplicity blog - she uses her Bics and Sharpies to colour match her embellishments. It's rather brilliant.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Special Sympathy
Hello everyone,
Before you think I've lost it, let me explain. The mother of one of my colleagues passed away this weekend and I wanted to craft a very special card for her. Her mother loved Coca Cola and I was asked if there was a way I could incorporate this into a card. Well I did, and I don't think it turned out too bad.
The printed paper is from an empty Coca Cola case and is layered on Canford Silver, Stampin' Up Whisper White and American Crafts Crimson. The sentiment is Stamp Barn stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Whisper White and layered on more Crimson. The embellishments are Kaisercraft Pearl Strips.
This is a pretty cool and certainly utterly unique! I can't imagine having something like this in my regular repertoire but it sure was special to craft it for my colleague. I know she'll 'get it'.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Flourishing Thank You
Hello everyone,
Now that I've finished designing the beginner's cards for next week's crop, it is time to start crafting thank you cards. Events like these are a tremendous amount of work and require the help of so many people and a number of generous donations. Everyone deserves a special thank you!
The printed paper is My Mind's Eye layer on a piece of unknown origin. The sentiment is Serendipity stamped in Stampin' Up Brocade Blue on Very Vanilla and layered on more blue of unknown origin. The image is Technique Tuesday Fanfare also stamped in Brocade Blue on Very Vanilla and layered on Chocolate Chip. The embellishments are Kaisercraft December 25th pearls.
As I was cleaning up my desk after finishing the beginners cards, I noticed that my printed paper scrap drawer was somewhat difficult to close so decided it's time to see what I can get used up. There is a treasure trove of beautiful bits and pieces in that bin that will become some very lovely thank you cards. Sometimes I can remember the brand names, others times I can't so the details that I include will be a little hit and miss.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

December Crop Card
Hello everyone,
December's card had to be a Christmas card. I found this fabulous paper at a new local scrapbooking store, Crop A While. They very generously donated a lovely silent auction for our Crop.
The printed paper is Anna Griffin layered on Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade. The vertical strips are DCWV 'Tis The Season punched on both edges with a border punch. The sentiment is Kaisercraft Christmas Sentiments stamped in Wild Wasabi on Very Vanilla, layered on more Wild Wasabi and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. The embellishments are Crafts Rhinestone Strips.
I love, love, love this holly paper. I was actually smart enough to pick up a couple of extra sheets as I can see a one sheet wonder in its future. This card was actually a bit of a challenge. I kept having to remind myself to keep it simple. When you love crafting Christmas cards as much as I do, its easy to go overboard. I think this card will work just fine for my beginners.
I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
