Feminine Trio

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is an awesome trio of  very feminine 'birthday' cards.

The card bases are Craft Smith, Recollections Vanilla Linen Texture and Recollections Vanilla.  The printed papers are of unknown origin layered on a light pink Core’dinations and Close To My Heart Grey Flannel.  The sentiments are Stampin’ Up Here’s a Card stamped in Altenew Pure Graphite on Recollections Vanilla.  The ribbon is of unknown origin. The embellishments are Recollections pearls.

I just love each of these cards.  The colours are wonderfully soft and the style is slightly vintage.  I just had three pieces of these strips but there were perfect for these smaller sized cards.  Though very similar, each is different enough that they don't come across mass produced (and are not).  The layouts are similar but even though I used the same sentiment on all three, adjusting the placement made all the difference.  All three cards just turned out beautifully!

Perfectly Plaid

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a very natural birthday card.

The card base is Craft Smart.  The image is Memory Box Cattail Birds stamped in Close To My Heart Mink on Recollections White and layered on a khaki and a printed paper of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Hero Arts C5594 Happy Birthday stamped in Close To My Heart Heather on Recollections White and layered on more khaki.

I'm so pleased with this card!  I've always been keen on a great plaid and this one works particularly well with the kraft card base and the subtle image and sentiment.  It's intended to be a more masculine card but it is also rather neutral.  This photo doesn't do the image justice as it's a little dark in reality.  This is a very simple layout with the lines in the plaid facilitating alignment of the two elements.  A great result!

October Crop Card

Hello everyone,

Like I've mentioned previously, I don't really craft cards for occasions like Halloween however in the case of the beginners class, I thought they would enjoy having one.  I also found some pretty cool Halloween paper in my stash that really works.

The printed papers are Debbie Mumm Harvest and Holidays.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Delightful Dozen stamped in Tangerine Tango on Whisper White and highlighted with Sakura Copper Gelly Roll pen.  The ribbon is Craft Smart.  The embellishments are Kasiercraft black pearl strips.

This is a very simply card.  I didn't go overboard with layout or embellishments because I didn't want to distract from this great sheet of paper.  I may look through my stash for some larger embellishments because I think this particular application can handle something bigger.  I bet I'll find something!

Loving Promises

Hello everyone,

I was so pleased with yesterday's anniversary/wedding card that I decided to use another favourite sentiment on today's card.

The printed paper, of unknown origin, is layered on Stampin' Up Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke.  The bottom layer was stamped with Impression Obsession Small Flourishes in Always Artichoke and highlighted with Y&C gold Gel Extreme and Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The sentiment is Magenta.  The ribbon is Craft Smart.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Brown/Tan Sparkles.

I love everything about this card.  Enough said!

Vintage Baby Boy

Hello everyone,

One of my colleagues commissioned a baby boy card and I couldn't decide upon a vintage card or something more trendy.  So I did one of each and let her pick her favourite.

The printed paper is all Graphic 45 Little Darlings layered on Recollections.  The vertical elements are Stampin' Up Very Vanilla cut with Martha Stewart's Quilted Edge punch.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Short and Sweet stamped in Close To My Heart Twilight on Very Vanilla.  The ribbon is Craft Smart.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Pearl Opaques.

Every card that I've crafted with this paper has been just lovely.  I'm not really big on vintage cards but this paper lets me use my usual style with results that really appeal.
