Quick and Easy Santa

Hello everyone,

Today's Christmas card post uses one of my favorite Santa stamps.

The card base is Recollections White.  The image is Paper Inspirations Jolly Santa stamped in Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler on Recollections White and layered on more Cherry Cobbler.

As I was somewhat tired and uninspired to craft a card for today's post, I started looking through my Christmas stamps to jump start my mojo and I realized that I had plenty of stamps that were perfect for a few quick and easy cards.  This is one my favorite full size stamps that don't require a separate sentiment.  I stamped in one colour and layered with the same colour paper.  In all, it took me less than ten minutes to pull this great card together.  I do think I'll try get a multi-colour image using markers.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Jolly Old St. Nick

Hello everyone,

Today's Christmas card post is a striking Santa.

The printed papers are Stampin' Up Snow Festival.  The image/sentiment is Paper Inspirations Jolly Santa stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Recollections White and layered on Garden Green.  The embellishments are K&Company EB Visions of Christmas.

This card looks easy but it took a number of attempts to get this image stamped.  It's a large image and if not carefully inked, it looks terrible.  My first attempt was so crooked, I ran out of paper to fix it.  The second attempt ended up with a terrible Cherry Cobbler smear.  The third time was the charm.  I debate layering with Cherry Cobbler but felt the Garden Green really helped the image pop.  I wanted it to pop after all the failed attempts.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Jolly Old Saint Nick

Hello everyone,

One I started with some simple Christmas cards, I just kept going.

The printed paper is Carta Bella So This Is Christmas.  The image is Paper Inspirations Jolly Santa stamped in Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler on Recollections White, and layered on more White.  The image was lightly sponged with Crumbcake.

Given my success with the last couple of cards, I wanted to try another card using a large image.  This was perfect as it already incorporates a sentiment.  Unfortunately, I badly smudge the ink (I think it was on my fingers) and I didn't want to waste what wasn't a back impressions so I decided to sponge a bit of Crumbcake ink to make it more vintage looking.  It certainly didn't hurt.  I have a couple more Christmas stamps that incorporate sentiments so expect to see them before July is done.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

More Christmas In July

Hello everyone,

I've finally decided to stop using Roman numerals for this Christmas In July series.  I just can't do it anymore!  This is a very traditional Christmas card as part of the dozen cards I'm crafting for my sister.

The background paper is BasicGrey Jovial layered on Stampin' Up textured Always Artichoke.  The image is Paper Inspirations Jolly Santa stamped in Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla and layered on Real Red.  The embellishments are Multicrafts.

I love that this image is combined with a sentiment.  It is not one I use often but I felt is was somewhat vintage which worked really well with the BasicGrey paper.  This is a great traditional card that was really quick and easy to pull together.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Christmas Santa

Hello everyone,

The 'Christmas in July' project challenge continues.

The background paper is Little Yellow Bicycle 25 Days of Christmas. The image is Paper Inspirations Jolly Santa stamped on Whisper White and layered on Cherry Cobbler. The ribbon is from Offray and the embellishments are from Multicrafts.

This was a super simple card. It used what I'd describe as a pretty classic layout. I took advantage of the circles on the paper to layout the embellishments. I love this card. It goes to show that you don't need to get all complicated for a card to be beautiful.

Please enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
