Fancy Feathers

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a really sparkly 'birthday' card.

The card base is The Paper Studio.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Worldwin Silver Ore.  The sentiment is Flonz stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and layered on a purple Bazzill.  The card is highlighted with Lime Green Stickles.

This is an awesome card! The pattern is wonderful with the rows of feathers being the perfect scale for a card.  There are tons of sparkly bits to catch your eye and send you to a happy place!  The purple/green colour combination is just wonderful.  I decided to layer with some burnished silver which was a great choice with the white of the feathers.  It's a great result.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Solitary Rose

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another pretty sentiment-less card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Bravo Burgundy.  The image is Penny Black The Look of Love stamped in Tsukineko Brilliance Pearlescent Olive and Time, and Crimson Copper on Recollections White.  The image panel is layered on a mirrored green of unknown origin and Worldwin Green Eyes Clover Petallics.  The embellishments are Crafts rhinestone stickers.

Every time I use this stamp I love it even more!  It's wonderful for using multiple colours of ink and the impression always works.  The three little rhinestones, which I've done before, are just lovely.  I love the mirrored green layer against the Worldwin layer.  I think I matched the ink colours with the layers quite well.  It's a great result!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Little Reminder

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a bit of a funky Valentine card.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper and pink layer are of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up A Wish For Everything stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and layered on two different pink Worldwin Petallics.  The heart brads are Recollections.

One of my girlfriends hasn't had the best start to 2020 so I thought I'd craft her a real one of a kind Valentine.  I thought this pink zebra strip was perfect for a Valentine card.  The sentiment is part of the Stampin' Up order I got in the mail this week.  I have a ton of different heart brads and these pink ones work perfectly with the pink in the printed paper.  It's a great card and I'm sure it will lift her spirits.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Birthday Roses

Hello everyone,

Today's card is birthday card crafted for a girlfriend's Aunt.

The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Rose Red and Worldwin shimmery pink.  The sentiment is Crafter's Companion Die'Sire Happy Birthday cut from Stampin' Up Baja Breeze and highlighted with Wink of Stella Clear 999.  The card is highlighted with Diamond Stickles.

I especially love these beautiful roses and the sweet blue butterflies.  I thought this vintage inspired paper was perfect for my girlfriend's aunt.  I added a bit of shimmer and sparkle because that really speaks to my girlfriend.  It's a great birthday card!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Forty Years Wed

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a special anniversary card commissioned by a girlfriend.

The printed paper is DCWV Luxury Stack layered on Worldwin Beargrass Petallics and a shimmery red of unknown origin.  The image is Hero Arts Fancy Arts stamped in Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler on Bazzill Walnut Cream.  The sentiment is Fiskars Just Married Quotes stamped in Altenew Industrial Diamond.  The card is highlighted with Platinum Liquid Pearls.

The 40th wedding anniversary is represented by the ruby hence all deep red elements on this card.  I went all out fancy with the papers so the card has a really beautiful shimmer.  The heart image was a challenge because the Cherry Cobbler ink kept smearing.  The final result however is so perfect!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Another Glittered Santa

Hello everyone,

Today's Christmas card uses the same Santa image as yesterday but resulted in a very different card.

The image is Rubber Stampede Santa Collage stamped in Avery Elle New Moon on Recollections White and covered with Glitter Ritz Warm Highlight Micro Fine Transparent Glitter.  The image is layered on Worldwin Silver and shimmery dark and pale greys of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Fiskars Vintage Christmas stamped in Close To My Heart Pewter on Recollections White and layered on more silver.

This is another favourite in this Christmas card series.  I love all the natural colours with the glitter and shine just putting this card over the top.  I really love the layout, especially the placement of the sentiment.  The curliness of the font also coordinates beautifully with the swirls in Santa's beard.  I wish I could keep this card too!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Glittered Santa

Hello everyone,

Today's post is one of the most awesome Christmas cards I think I've crafted in this series.

The image is Rubber Stampede Santa Collage stamped in Avery Elle New Moon on Recollections White and glittered with Glitter Ritz Warm Highlight Transparent Micro Fine Glitter.  The image is layered on Worldwin Silver and a mirrored teal of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Sweet & Sassy Poinsettias stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.

This is, by far, my favourite Santa Clause stamp ever.  Glittered, it's exceptionally incredible.  Any time I use it, especially with glitter, the card is always well received.  I thought it was inspired to trim the corners, one of which was a little damaged.  I really like the final shape of these layers.  I also decided to leave a fairly large reveal of the layers because the teal is a really pretty shade.  I wish I could have kept this card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

A Taste Of Asia

Hello everyone,

Today's birthday card uses a wonderful piece of origami paper.

The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Worldwin Chrome Gold Foil paper and Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim.  The sentiment is Serendipity stamped in Outdoor Denim on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more Worldwin gold.  The embellishments are ZVA Creative adhesive pearls.

This is a really beautiful card.  The blues, cream and gold are such a wonderful combination.  I love how the swirling embellishments mimic the swirls and dots in the printed paper.  Using gold for layering adds a bit of elegance and sophistication that I find particularly appealing.  I was also really pleased to be able to include a card that has such a great Asian feel in this commission.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

McGill Graduate

Hello everyone,

One of my colleagues requested a special card for a University of McGill graduate.

The image is a tracing from the University of McGill's coat of arms fussy cut from DCWV Glitzy Glitter stack.  The bird is layered on Worldwin Silver Ore Petallics, more DCWV Glitzy Glitter and a shimmery red of unknown origin die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 20.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  The embellishments are Crafts.

I think my idea for this card was so much better than the execution.  I wanted to use McGill's red and the bird.  My colleague wanted glitter.  The two don't work as well together as I thought they would.  The generous use of embellishments helped but ... then I thought rounding the corners would help even more but ... I don't use the Spellbinders Nestabilities all that often because I find they look strange when I get the cards finished.  Whenever I see cards with Nestabilities, I think they're wonderful.  I can't figure out why my don't.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Extra Special Wedding Wishes

Hello everyone,

Today's post couldn't be more special.

The photo on the left was layered on a shimmery navy of unknown origin, Worldwin Autumn Hay Petallics and Worldwin Copper Pearlescent Swirl.  The sentiment is Stampabilities Changes Everything stamped in Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more navy and Autumn Hay.  The embellishments are My Mind's Eye Heirloom Enamel Dots.

The photo on on the right was layered on a textured, shimmery blue of unknown origin, Worldwin Silver Ore Petallics, Joy! Crafts Spiegelkarton Winter Assortment and Recollections Christmas Mercury Glass.  The sentiment is Stampabilities Changes Everything stamped in Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim on Bazzill white and layered on more Joy! Crafts Spiegelkarton Winter Assortment.  The embellishment is Stampin' Up Frosted Finishes embellishments.

My Aunt and Uncle will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in March.  How utterly amazing!  My mom asked me to craft them a special card.  Very sneakily, I asked my cousins if they had a wedding photo, which was quickly dispatched via email.  I printed a couple of variations and just got creative!  I ended up crafting two cards because I just couldn't choose one.  They are both so wonderful!  One so very vintage, the other fresh and shiny.  I'm so excited by these cards.

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

PS - Mom chose the card on the right.  I'll send the card on the left.

Glittered And Gorgeous

Hello everyone,

Today's card is one that I designed for a girlfriend and I to craft at a crop in October.

The image is an Elizabeth Crafts Designs outline sticker glittered with Classic Red Glamour Glitter and a variety of Martha Stewart glitter.  The image is layered on Worldwin gold, Stampin' Up Whisper White and a shimmery green of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Very Merry Christmas stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  The embellishments are Crafts Rhinestone stickers.

All that glitter just puts me in the happiest of places.  These types of images are incredibly time consuming and finicky but the results are so very worth it.  They make for utterly mind-blowing beautiful.  I kept the rest of the card pretty simple so as not to have to compete with this poinsettia.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Diamond Beauty

Hello everyone,

I've been wicked busy the last few weeks designing and crafting Christmas cards.  It has been a crazy, crazy time.  Now its time to, hopefully, get back to something resembling normal

Today's card was commissioned by a colleague for a wedding.  I wanted to try something different and I had some fun crafting this fancy-folded beauty.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin.  The remaining papers are American Crafts Charcoal Damask glitter paper and Worldwin Shimmery Black.  The images are Technique Tuesday Fan Fare stamped in Ranger Glacier White pigment ink heat embossed with Stampin' Up white embossing powder.  The sentiment is Fiskars Just Married Quotes stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Whisper White and layered on a silver of unknown origin.  The embellishments are Stampin' Up Frosted Finishes and Crafts Rhinestone Strips.

I think this card is an absolute thing of beauty.  The diamond fold was a bit of challenge to figure out but when I finally got it, I fell in love.  I was inspired by a tri-fold wedding card that I crafted in September.  It turned out so well, I got ambitious.  It paid off.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Sweet Sixteen

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another commissioned card for a milestone birthday.

The printed paper is DCWV Girl Stack layered on Worldwin Chrome Silver Foil and Close To My Heart Dutch Blue.  The images are Recollections.  The sentiment is Bonnidee French Wording #1 stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Stampin' Up Whisper White and layered on more Dutch Blue.  Both layers were cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 13.  The ribbon is Hobby Lobby decorative trim and Multicrafts.

This card is for a soon to be sixteen year old hockey player.  She doesn't do girly!  She is a goalie so I was quite thrilled to find a goalie stick sticker!  A real coup!  I especially enjoy crafting these types of custom cards.  I like to think they are equally special for both the receiver as well as the giver.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Gift Giving

Hello everyone,

Today's post are the last two cards in this particular Christmas boxed set.

The images are DeNami Design and Inkadinkado Filigree Holiday Patterns heat embossed in Stampendous Sterling Silver embossing powder on Recollections White.  The English card is highlighted with LuminArte Douglas Fir and Poppy Red Twinkling H2Os.  The French sentiment is Stampendous Joyeux Noel stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  The images and sentiment is layered on Worldwin Black and Red.  The embellishments are Mark Richards 3mm silver metals.

I think I did a pretty darn good job making very similar English and French cards.  It was impossible to make perfectly matching cards so I didn't even try.  By using the same embossing powder, papers and embellishments they certainly match.  It worked even better than I pictured!

I hope you enjoy these cards and come back to SPI again soon.

Sparkly Snowflake

Hello everyone,

Another of my Christmas cards for you today.

The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Worldwin Silver Ore.  The embellishments is K&Company Visions of Christmas.  The ribbon is Paperchase glitter ribbon.  The sentiment is Fiskars Vintage Christmas stamped in Colorbox gold on Stampin' Up Whisper White.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Bitty Sparkles.

Some times cards come together easily, some times not so much.  This is one that didn't come together so easily.  In hindsight, it turned out well so why was it so hard?  I know I wanted to use one of these sparkling snowflakes embellishments but I couldn't seem to get the elements to come together.  It can be so frustrating.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Christmas Flower Folds

Hello everyone,

Today's card is just fun.  I found this sample on Pinterest and just had to give it a try.

The printed papers are Recollections Sugar Plums punch from a large tag punch.  The flower is layered on Worldwin Red textured with Sizzix small dots.  The sentiment is Penny Black Merry Xmas stamped in Stampin' Up Real Red on Very Vanilla.  The embellishments is Martha Stewart Crafts Die Cuts.

I just love, love, love the flower.  Once I had the folds down, it really came together easily.  I'm not as thrilled with the background elements.  I think I could have worked out the placement of the sentiment better.  I really wish I had done a vertical card instead of a horizontal card.  I'll definitely do this flower again.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

The More The Merrier

Hello everyone,

I've finished the Christmas cards for my siblings and am now starting on cards for my colleagues.

The printed paper is Martha Stewart Snowflace mat pad layered on Worldwin shimmery white and Stampin' Up Real Red.  The ornament is a Cottage Cutz die cut from glossy paper that was smooshed with Ranger alcohol ink and affixed to a piece of white that was covered with Martha Stewart coarse crystal glitter.  The sentiment is Stampabilities Merry Christmas 06 stamped in Real Red on Recollections white.  The embellishment is a TPC Studio Holly Jolly brad.

I wish the photo did justice to the shimmery white layer as it plays beautifully with the glittered layer of the ornament.  I love the basic red and white color combination of this card.  Very Christmasy.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Thinking Pink

Hello everyone,

Today's card is part of the Christmas gift for one of my sisters and my brother-in-law.  They have  two nieces and a nephew who live overseas and now that Nonna has passed away, it will be more of a challenge to keep in touch with them.  My idea is to craft a number of cards for each child that my sister and brother-in-law can just pop in the mail.

The background paper is Worldwin Red Eye textured with Couture Creations Entangle embossing folder. The vertical element is Martha Stewart Infinite Loop punch from a shimmery vanilla of unknown origin.  The butterfly is Spellbinders Wonderful Wings die cut from Worldwin Red Eye and more shimmery vanilla.  The sentiment is Hero Arts Everyday Sayings stamped in Stampin' Up Mauve Mist on Very Vanilla and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The embellishments are Close To My Heart Pearl Opaques.

This was not the card I had originally wanted to craft but mojo is lagging at the moment.  I had intended to craft a valentine.  Everything I tried just didn't seem to work.  It was so frustrating that this card just didn't want to be crafted and a little scary considering I've still got eleven more different cards to get done.  Believe or not I'm still using the envelops from my envelop stash.  My sister loves to send cards for whatever occasion so I know she'll love this gift.  I can't wait to get them to here.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Sparkling Snowflakes

Hello everyone,

As much as I wanted to keep using the K & Company paper, I decided I was in a blue snowflake mood.

The printed paper is BoBunny Powder Mountain layered on Worldwin Elan Steel Blue Metallics.  The vertical element is a shimmery white of unknown origin textured with Darice Snowflakes embossing folder and layered on more Worldwin Elan Steel Blue Metallics.  The focal element is a Spellbinders Create-A-Flake 3 cut from Stampin' Up Brocade Blue that was covered with Glitter Ritz Cool Highlight microfine glitter.  The sentiment is Fiskars Vintage Christmas stamped in Brocade Blue on Whisper White, layered on Worldwin Elan Steel Blue Metallics and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

This is another really lovely sheet of paper.  I used the primary images on a couple of Winter Wonderland cards (here and here) in January.  There is a shadow of a cardinal on the left side of the card.  The leftovers are not useful for anything more than background layers for cards at this point but it's such a wonderful blue I don't expect to have any problems using it all up.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Platinum Anniversary

Hello everyone,

Today's card was commissioned by a colleague whose in-laws were celebrating a 70th wedding anniversary.  How incredible a milestone!  I don't suppose I'll make too many platinum anniversary cards.

The printed paper is The Paper Company layered on Worldwin Silver Ore.  The image is Rubber Cafe Swirled Bells and the sentiment is Stampabilities Changes Everything, both of which were stamped in StazOn Platinum on Stampin' Up and layered on more Silver Ore.  The vertical elements are Offray Ribbon and another piece of Silver Ore punched with an EK Success punch (I don't remember which one).  The embellishments are Recollections Adhesive Faux Pearls.

I just loved crafting this cards.  There are always so many possibilities to really make these cards spectacular.  I, of course, love this paisley paper and this is one of my all time favourite wedding/anniversary sentiments.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
