More Pretty Pink Thoughts

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is another very pretty 'thinking of you' card.

The card base is The Paper Studio.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up River Rock.  The sentiment is Poppy Stamps Art Deco You Are Wonderful stamped in Stampin' Up Soft Suede on Recollections Vanilla and layered on Close To My Heart Smoothie.  The embellishments are Stampin' Up Metallic Pearls.

I have no idea where the idea for this layout came from but I'm really pleased with the results.  I love the two banners in opposite directions under the sentiment.  I don't know if this floral paper is really in the 'art deco' style but I think it is close enough that it works really well with the style of the sentiment.  There are a lot of pearls here but I just couldn't stop adding them.  They speak to the yellow centers of the flowers.  It's a much better result than I had imagined and I know I'll repeat it in the future.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Autumn Seeds

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a lovely fall 'thinking of you' card.

The card base is Close To My Heart Flaxen.  The image is Woodware Going To Seed stamped in Tsukineko Brilliance Pearlescent Beige, Olive and Rust on a vanilla of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Poppy Stamps Art Deco You Are Wonderful stamped in Stampin' Up Early Espresso on more vanilla of unknown origin.  The image and sentiment panels are layered on Close To My Heart Brown Bag and Champagne.  The embellishment are BasicGrey Metal Studs.

I'm really loving this stamp lately and it is just spectacular in these pearlescent inks.  It's a rather large image but with the simple lines and blank space, it's not an overwhelming.  I love how well the ink and solid paper colours coordinated.  This is a wonderfully neutral card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Art Deco Thank You

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a very art deco 'thank you' card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Crumbcake.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Recollections White and Black.  The sentiment is Poppy Stamps Art Deco You Are Wonderful stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and layered on more Recollections Black.  The leaf embellishment was cut with a DoCrafts X-Cut leave die from a green of unknown origin.

This is not a traditional autumn card but it still works wonderfully as a 'thank you' card.  This card also offers a bit of variety in this commissioned series as not all clients will find a more traditional card to their taste.  I don't have a large rectangle punch with rounded corners so I improvised with a strip of black and a corner-rounder punch and am quite pleased with the results.  I think the pop of green in the die cut leaf works really well with the overall style of this card.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Art Deco Thank You

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a fabulous thank you card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Brocade Blue.  The images are Stampin' Up Serene Garden stamped in Altenew Persian Blue on Recollections White and layered on Recollections Black.  The sentiment is Poppy Stamps Art Deco You Are Wonderful stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  The card is highlighted with White Opal Liquid Pearls.

I don't use this stamp set as often as I should. It is a wonderful set that is really quick and easy to use.  I was thrilled to find a perfectly coordinating ink colour in my stash of Altenew ink pads.  I love the placement of the sentiment and I think I did pretty well with the Liquid Pearls placement.  This Poppy Stamps sentiment set couldn't work any better with the images.  I'm sure that's what I was thinking when I added it to my 'cart'.  I could repeat this card or a similar version over and over.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Sweet Sunshine

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another French get well card to replenish my stash.

The card base is Close To My Heart Buttercup.  The background was stamped with Stampin' Up Watercolor Wash in Altenew Citrus Burst on Recollections White and is layered on Close To My Heart Canary and a white of unknown origin.  The images are Poppy Bellina Butterfly Triptych die cut from Stampin' Up Basic Grey.  The sentiment is Bonnidee French Wording #1 stamped in Altenew Pure Graphite.  The ribbon is American Crafts.

It's been rather cold and blustery in Ottawa this past week so a sunshiny yellow card was just the ticket.  I used Sizzix Permanent Adhesive Sheets to adhere these delicate die cuts.  My girlfriend told me about the product and it works so, so, so much better than glue (thanks Michelle)!  I was introduced to the yellow and grey colour combination by another card making girlfriend (thanks Kairn) a while back.  I find yellow a challenging colour to use but combined with grey, it's great!

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.

Ornaments A Shimmering III

Hello everyone,

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas day!

I'm still blogging the Christmas card that I crafted before the holidays.

The card base is a shimmery green of unknown origin.  The ornaments are die cut with Poppy Stamps Brittany, Eddington and Tinsel Ornaments from glossy paper smooshed with Ranger Clover, Wild Plum, Citrus, Watermelon, Cool Perl, Snow Cap and Pearl alcohol ink, covered with DecoArt Crystal Glamour Dust and Paper Accents Mirror Silver Glossy card stock.  The sentiment is Annabelle Stamps Holly Branch heat embossed with Close To My Heart black embossing powder.  The embellishments are of unknown origin.

This is somewhat of an unusual card for me as I decided to heat emboss the 'Merry Christmas' on this inside of the card.  I wish I'd thought to take a photo.  I didn't find a Christmas sentiment that fit well in this triangle layout so I chose to use a two-part sentiment.  This particular sent has a great first part that I thought worked particularly well with the snowflake and loopy mirrored silver overlay of the die cut.  I'm quite happy with the results and plan to give it a try with some other cards.

I hope you enjoy this card and come back to SPI again soon.
