Happily Dotted

Today's post is a great neutral dotted birthday card.

The card base is Craft Smith.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Recollections Vanilla and a blue Bazzill.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up Stylized Birthday stamped in Altenew Desert Night on more vanilla and layered on more blue.

Sometimes the simplest birthday cards are the most wonderful.  I wasn't sure about this printed paper.  I love the dots but they're not straight.  It's a little weird as I first thought I'd trimmed the paper crooked.  I decided to push on and and very pleased with the results.  The colours are great and I used the dots to coordinated the solid colours.  The sentiment is a great size with a fun font.  Perfect for this cheerfully neutral birthday card.

Fantastic in Flight

Hello everyone,

Today's post is another great masculine birthday card.

The card base is Craft Smith. The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a white of unknown origin and Close To My Heart Whisper.  The sentiment is Frantic Stamper stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White.  The brads are of unknown origin.

This airplane paper was irresistible for a masculine birthday card.  I only hope I've got the planes right side up.  I'm pretty certain I do but it's hard to tell because the images are on the faint side. I could have centered the sentiment a little better but I don't think it's so obvious with the brads anchoring it on either side.  It's a simple card but so effective.

Navy Argyle Wishes

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a simple layered birthday card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Night of Navy.  The printed papers are of unknown origin layered with a white of unknown origin.  The sentiment is cut from Recollections White with Impression Obsession Happy Birthday die.

I was so happy with yesterday's card that I decided to repeat it with this argyle paper.  This is a favourite die.  It's got a wonderful font and in white, it really pops against the printed paper.  I love the blue and white colour combination because it's very fresh.  I intended this card to be masculine so I didn't add any extra embellishments.  It's a great result.

Fabulously Funky

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a rather funky birthday card.

The card base is Stampin' Up Night of Navy.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a white of unknown origin and a light blue Bazzill. The sentiment is cut with Sizzix Happy Birthday Thinlit from a shimmery blue of unknown origin.  The card is highlighted with Denim Dew Drops.

This printed paper is so fun I just couldn't resist using it for this series of commissioned birthday cards.  I thought this die cut sentiment would work great for this card but after I'd put all the elements together, I wasn't so certain it stands out enough for it to be legible.  It's still a great result.

Vintage on the Vertical

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a more vintage style birthday card.

The card base is Recollections Black.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Ridinghood Red.  The sentiment is Creative Expression Celebrations Sentiments stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections Vanilla and cut with Marianne Design CR1299 die.  The flower embellishments is Crafts and is highlighted with Candy Cane Stickles.

This is a very busy piece of printed paper which only adds to the vintage style.  The layers of text and images is wonderful.  The sentiment and die cut are new, I found them at a somewhat local craft store Ectasy Crafts while I was on holidays.  I've had the flower brad in my stash for eons.  Overall, a great result!

Simply Sophisticated

Hello everyone,

Today's birthday card is so beautiful.

The card base is Recollections Black.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on a red Bazzill.  The sentiment is All Night Media Happy Birthday stamped in StazOn Black Cherry.

I truly love the sophistication of a black and white card.  The red layer and sentiment adds a great punch of colour. This is a layout I've used many times before and love it every time.  I love stamping the sentiment on the printed paper and this was the perfect piece for which to do it.  The paper is somewhat shiny so I used StazOn so it wouldn't smudge.  It's a great result!

In Brown and Gold

Today's card is a birthday card with a Middle Eastern feel.

The card base is Stampin' Up Early Espresso.  The printed paper is Toga Saveurs d'Orient layered on Bazzill Gold Foil.  The sentiment is Sweet & Sassy Script Birthdays stamped in Early Espresso on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more gold foil.  The embellishments are Togo Gold Pearls.

I love this card!  The browns and golds are so sophisticated.  The images are the perfect scale for a card.  I love the font mimicking the gold swirls behind the flowers.  Adding the gold pearls was a no brainer.  A really great result.
