Plentiful Hearts

Today's post is the first in the a series of the Valentines I recently crafted. 

The card base is Recollections Vanilla Linen Texture cardstock.  The printed paper is Making Memories "Je t'adore" Hearts layered on Recollections Vanilla Linen, Stampin' Up Blushing Bride, and Close To My Heart Barn Red.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches All Year Cheer stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more Blushing Bride.  The embellishments are Stampin' Up Resin Hearts.

I made this particular Valentine for one of my daughter's new roommates.  I've not yet met her but I thought they'd get a kick out of receiving special cards.  I've had this printed paper is my Valentine stash for eons and still love it!  It's got a bit of a vintage style that appeals to me.  I love the angled sentiment and am quite pleased with how well I managed to center it.  The tiny resin hearts are perfect!

An Early Valentine

Today's post is a great Valentine requested by a friend for his 'love'!

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Recollections Red Foil and Hygloss Gold Foil.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches All Year Cheer stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and layered on more red foil.  The heart brad is of unknown origin.

I know, I know, it's a titch early for Valentine cards but when a friend place an order for thank you cards I asked if he'd also like a Valentine for his partner.  Killing multiple birds at once so to speak.  This is the perfect card for his girlfriend (my bestie)! It's big, bright and bold!  I love the paper and of course used lots of shiny because it just suits her to a tee!

A Sweet Snowman

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a great Christmas card.

The card base is a red Bazzill.  The printed paper is of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches All Year Cheer stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections Vanilla.  The embellishment is The Paper Studio 'la petite' Snowmen dimensional stickers.

Life has been rather hectic of late so I'm afraid my card making has been, unfortunately, somewhat erratic too.  Today's Christmas card was probably as quick and easy as it could possible be.  A great piece of printed paper, a traditional sentiment and a lovely dimensional sticker.  I've had the pieces organized for this, and another dozen cards, for weeks but finding the time to put them all together has been more of a challenge.  My style for the next few weeks will be clean and simple!

A Sweet Retirement

 Hello everyone,

Today's post is a retirement card that I crafted for my neighbor.

The card base is Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry.  The printed papers are Stampin' Up Cottage Wall, layered on a white of unknown origin.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches All Year Cheer stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Recollections White and layered on more Cottage Wall and Rich Razzleberry.  The card is highlighted with Diamond Stickles.

This is my very favourite Stampin' Up designer series paper.  I've had it for years and use it somewhat sparingly so it will last as long as possible.  I even keep all the little scraps in case I can find a way to use them.  Angling the sentiment on the bottom right corner is quickly becoming one of my favourite layouts.  I even managed to center it evenly!  The layout is otherwise very simple.  My neighbor is not a flashy person and I'm confident the colours and style of this card will appeal to her.  We'll be passing the card around for a few other neighbors to sign and we'll help her celebrate her retirement, COVID-style - meeting at the end of our driveways.

Lots of Golf

Hello everyone,

Today's card was commissioned by my husband for his boss who is retiring.

The card base is Stampin' Up Night of Navy.  The printed paper is Stampin' Up Country Club layered on Garden Green and Poppy Parade.  The image is Stampin' Up Club House stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and cut with the coordinating Golf Club die.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches All Year Cheer stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and layered on more Poppy Parade.

I was utterly thrilled to find this stamp set and golf paper in the recent Stampin' Up catalog.  I will get so much use from it.  I did do something a little different with this die cut by cutting three copies of the golfer and adhering them together.  Along with dimensionals, it gave the final image more depth which really looks a lot more finished.  While I was thrilled to make this golf themed card, I only wish my darling hubby had given me just a titch more notice!  He was thrilled with the results.

A Simple Valentine

While I'm in a Valentine's frame of mind I thought I'd keep the heart mojo going.

The card base is Recollections White.  The printed paper is Recollections All Seasons layered on a white of unknown origin and Stampin' Up Melon Mambo.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches All Year Cheer stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections White and highlighted with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The heart brads are of unknown origin.

I love this simple Valentine.  The patterned paper is with the line drawn hearts makes for a great background.  The small reveals of the layers adds some depth to what would otherwise be a pretty flat result.  I didn't have dark pink heart embellishments but these red ones work just fine.  It's a great result.

Happy Hanukkah

Hello everyone,

Today's post is one of four Hanukkah cards I crafted for a recent sale at a local senior's residence.

The card base is Recollections White.  The menorah uses a variety of blue cardstock cut with Spellbinder's Classic Oval dies.  The 'flames' are Golden Rod Stickles.  The image is layered on a variety of blue and silver cardstock.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches All Year Cheer stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.

This was my first attempt at crafting Hanukkah cards and I was quite pleased with the results.  The four cards were variations of the same graphic.  I quite liked the clean and simple aspect of the cards.  The most difficult aspect was actually cutting the ovals because they needed multiple .  They were actually very fiddly because they needed many different passes to achieve the width I felt was appropriate.  This isn't bad for a first attempt.

Folksy Wishes

Hello everyone,

Today's post is a lovely country styled birthday card.

The card base is Craft Smith.  The printed paper is Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice layered on a white of unknown origin and Stampin' Up Lost Lagoon.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches All Year Cheer stamped in Stampin' Up Early Espresso on a white of unknown origin.  The embellishments are Recollections adhesive faux pearls.

This folksy kind of paper isn't one to which I'd normally gravitate but I found this piece particularly appealing.  I think it's the variety of colours and the burlap textured background.  I chose to us the blue because it really pops!  Notice the card base is dotted which speaks to the dots of the flowers.  I did that on purpose.

Panda Birthday Wishes

Today's post is a birthday card I crafted for one of my sisters.

The card base is Momenta Textured card stock.  The printed paper is of unknown origin layered on Stampin' Up Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade.  The image is Stamp Oasis stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections Vanilla and layered on more Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches All Year Cheer also stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on Recollections Vanilla.  The embellishment is of unknown origin highlighted with Lime Green Stickles.

Like my daughter, this sister has an affinity for panda bears and we've accommodated this love over the years with a variety of panda bear gifts.  It's been a while since I crafted her a birthday card with panda bears and this pair are particularly adorable.  I chose this paper for the background because it had an Asian style that really suited the image and a very wide variety of colours with which to coordinate.  I love the results.
